Preseason Notes
Bengals- HB Corey Dillon is out for seven weeks, which will put rookie Cedric Benson in the starter spot for a while and give Benson a chance to prove himself.

Chargers- The worst thing that could possibly happen to this defending AFC West champion happened: LaDainian Tomlinson is out for the season! Can they succeed without him?

Chiefs- RG Will Shields is out for 9 weeks, weakening the strong Chiefs O line.

Cowboys- The ‘Boys picked up second-year QB Cody Pickett during the offseason to be their quarterback of the future, but Pickett has gone down for the season and so Quincy Carter will once again lead the Dallas offense.

Falcons- HB T.J. Duckett is out for six weeks, leaving the ball-carrying duties to Michael Vick. Oh, and Warrick Dunn might get a carry or two.

49ers- RG Ron Stone is out 7 weeks, putting a hole in the Niners’ O line for a good while. CB Mike Rumph was lost for the season, but he was only the fourth-string CB, so that isn’t too much of a loss.

Giants- WR Ike Hilliard is out for the season, which will shift the Giants offensive strategy more towards the run as they have two very good backs in Tiki Barber and rookie Frank Gore.

Packers- Rookie CB Fabian Washington goes down for the season, meaning the Pack will have to work with Al Harris on a new contract as Harris is holding out.

Patriots- The Pats lose WR Deion Branch for the year, which will give Bethel Johnson a chance to step up and prove he’s a solid wide out.

Seahawks- RT Chris Terry is done for the year, making a weak Seahawk offensive line even worse.
