From today's Bosox/NYY game

Shortstop Derek Jeter (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5406) hit one of New York's four homers but made a throwing error on Boston's first batter, Gabe Kapler (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6140), that led to three unearned runs in a four-run first.

and A-Rod is still learning the hot corner. I really don't care but I still think this is stupid thing to do (keeping Jeter at SS and sticking A-Rod at a new position).

Enrique Wilson can play defense better than Jeter, all the while one of the best defensive SS's in the game is playing 3B. What the Hell is going on in NY?

Quoting every non-Yankee fan across the country, "This sounds promising!"

I know that defensive stats in baseball are iffy at best, but if you check the numbers over the past few seasons, Derek Jeter is among the worst in the majors no matter what stat you use (Fld%, RF, UZR), while A-Rod is among the best.

Like Buc said, this is a matter of soothing Jeter's ego and nothing else.

Just wait until that first Jeter injury, when A-Rod just looks amazing at short.

2005: Glaus or Boone at 3B, ARod at SS, and Jeter at 2B.

And you know what the best part is? ARod's only 1 HR away from tying Ripken's record for HRs by a SS, so the first time ARod plays SS, not only is it a story because of the Jeter dynamic, but he'll likely set the HR record, giving the story even more juice.

That's so funny:D

If Jeter really cared about the team, it would be him moving to third, not ARod...

i wouldn't be shocked to see them trade for a 3rd baseman THIS season.

I think it'll take an offseason to convince Jeter to move, and I CERTAINLY don't think he'd be up for an in-season move which could be even more embarrassing if he has to learn the position on the run. If he moves, it will be low-key, and he will have plenty of time to become familiar with the new position.
