If there is a new adition of FOF, I would like to see the following new features:

1. some injured rookies before the draft starts

2. mock draft for the first 2 rounds

3. resigned players before free agency starts(don't understand why I cannot do this in FOF2004)

4. a real NFL unrestricted, franchise, and transition free agency rule (include compensation, and values of tenders)

5. ability to release an injured player (don't know why I cannot do this in FOF2004)

6. an adjusted bureau rating that correlated better to how teams drafted in terms of different positions, fixed mainly on how teams drated (Example: In FOF2004, teams don't like to draft QB)

7. A.I. teams should do a better job in designated franchise tag (Peyton Manning never gets franchise tag, and AI franchise tag a lot of mediocre players that does not deserve to be tag).

8. ability to promoted assistant coaches to head coach and able to resign coaches before the contract expire.

9. harder to trade a player for draft pick(A.I. teams should not be willing to offer even low round draft choice for a mediocre player that can easily get through FA)

10. players can possibly accept more than a 1 year contract when the season has started if pay well.

11. players who are reluctant to resign with a team because of playing time or whatever would still have a chance to resign if pay well.

12. a real NFL pro-bowl match and selection. (separated NFC and AFC, and match the number of players selected in each position)

13. name the player's role when signing contracts (like CM, for examples, 1. Starting player 2. compete for a starting spot 3. key backup 4. compete for a backup spot 5. mainly a mentor only)

14. Injures in training camp (There are injurys in every train camp I have seen...)

i know we've gone over a lot of these before, but there are some good points above.

while i personally dont like 1, and dont think 2 would add too much, there are some good ideas here. particularly 7 and 8...

I like all of the ideas but the Pro Bowl. I dont really think it would add anything for me personally.

I thought it was against the NFL rules to release an injured player???

I thought it was against the NFL rules to release an injured player???Bingo - it is in violation of the collective bargaining agreement to outright release an injured player. This is why you often hear of injury settlements.

My idea
Have a newspaper paper type thing that tells of major FA signings, division clinchings, and and other major events

Just had an idea: With my free agents I am constantly frustrated with them seeking more cash from me than they accept from opponents. I know thate is "loyalty" but how about an indicator of how likely a FA is to resign with the team? In reality there are players who want to stay with their team (and will sign for slightly less) players who are looking for the best deal, and players who just plain want out of the team.

This could work not only in re-signing your players, but in looking for FA's. If A guy is not likely to leave his heam, why target him?

Yeah I've noticed that too, and it doesn't quite seem right. Maybe a small bug fix is needed?

Also, just anecdotally, I haven't really noticed any difference in FA behavior between guys with high loyalty and those with low loyalty. They both seem to care only about the money. :) There's nothing unrealistic about NFL players being focused on money, of course. But I'm just wondering if the loyalty rating has any real effect that people have noticed. I haven't.

* Improved pbp to indicate who took the penalty. Also, on big plays, who blew the coverage or missed the tackle.

* Keep track of more information on the player card specifically, injuries, suspensions, players of the week, trades, contract signings and RINGS WON.

* Bring back the injury log instead of having it listed in the bottom right corner of the scouting report.

* The ability to tell a free agent about his potential playing time. This will not only affect the likelihood of him signing, but also how quickly he would become upset if his promised role was not being met. This is without a doubt the #1 thing I would like to see as we're already seeing it successfully implemented in other games and it adds a lot to roster management strategy.

* On the fluff side, it would be cool to be able to click on any player rating and have a small line graph that showed the player's development in that area over the course of his career. primelord's utility is doing a great job of this but of course a visual representation in the game right when you want it wouldn't hurt.

Here are more ideas:

15. more likely for a player who is franchise tag to be unhappy and hold out

16. Bad players who are just signed to fill the backup spot of injury player should much less likely to feel injustice when you release them.

17. In overtime, A.I. teams would actually attempt to kick a fill goal on any downs when they are well in field goal range. (NFL coaches would kick field goal almost all the team, even with bad field goal kickers)

18. Make tie games less likely (I don't know exactly the reason, maybe A.I. just don't call players aggressive enough. In NFL, teams would called their best plays and much more passing plays)

19. add the "avoid injury" attributes for all players.
