For some reason I can not access the eNFL War Room or Message Board, am I the only one experiencing this?

me too.

Hopefully the draft has been halted temporarily. I need to make a few changes on my preferences and I have three picks in round 2.

Yep, same here.

I have yet to even tamper with the preference lists.

I was almost up and have not done any preference either. Hope it does not cost anyone (me, for example) a big problem, as some of us do not have 24-7 good access.

Any updated on this yet?

The commish might want to postpone drafting until everyone's had a reasonable amount of time to set preference lists

yabanci

actually, we got a few more picks in last night and as of this morning Cleveland was on the clock.

this also delays getting new owners for dead teams (or helps us, depending on how you look at it)

yabanci
03-11-2004, 01:24 PM
by the way, according to Northwood's dynasty report, players have been selected for the SD/Wash first round picks. I'm not sure of the computer was set up to do this or whether the commish did it himself.

By the way, in case you didn't check it, the players selected for SD and Wash are G Sammy Hodges and FS Carlos Dillon.

I planned on being live at the draft today to make my pick, but with the site down....

Im out for the rest of the evening, but Ive emailed the commish my pick incase things are up and running. That way no one has to wait if we decide to go forward later on today.

The entire tredsoft system is down. Another one of those server hiccups that's been happening over the last few weeks. It's out of my hands.

I'm home for the evening, and I will keep a strict eye on things. When the server comes back up, I will make Cleveland's pick manually, and then put the next team on the clock with an hour to go. I'll post here about it as well.

TredWel, can you give an update on the SD/Wash situation?

TredWel
03-11-2004, 02:50 PM
I posted about it earlier this morning. Straight from the site:

I've decided to select for San Diego and Washington for the rest of the draft. I don't want to grab a new player, and expect him to learn his team, the league positions, and how to use the draft system in an hour in order to not lose any ground in the draft. After the draft is over, I will find new ownership.

In the future, I will make it mandatory to submit some sort of email one week prior to the draft if you desire to continue. That should avoid this circumstance in the future.

Thanks commish. I figured it was something like a server. Nice to know that you are on top of things.

Keep up the good work and excellent job on the WarRoom. It makes drafting a piece of cake.

Good job there TredWel.

And a good way of working around the SD/Wash situation. Makes it easier.

The Bills selected QB Jason Bruce with the #20 pick.

When the site comes back online, what if:
the timer has continued
all the teams picks are on the clock for the time that was missed
a team(s) starts picking players fast in order to beat other teams to a player since, technically, all are on the clock
teams that have waited all day but are not online exactly when the site comes back get screwed

I'd imagine that Tredwel can reset it to any point he desires. Assuming the app is even still running.

When the system comes back online, I will immediately pause the draft.

When the draft re-opens, the team after Cleveland (who has apparently sent in his pick via email, which I will receive once the server comes back online) will be on the clock with their full hour. Nobody else will be on the clock.

TW has all the bases covered.

SplitPersonality1
03-11-2004, 05:36 PM
TW. In case I am not online when this thing restarts; when you put the draft on pause, could you change my preference list setting from picking immediately to picking at the end of my time limit? I don't want the program to select my first pick, have others make their selections and then pick my next pick right away.

As I have 3 - 2nd round picks, I need to have a chance to change the preference list betwen picks.

I don't want all three players to be of the same position.

Thanks.

Is there an ETA on when it will be back up?

TredWel
03-11-2004, 06:25 PM
::shrug::

There's nothing posted on the hosting services web site under Network Status, and they have no live help available at this time.

This is going on 10 hours of downtime, which is a rather large hiccup. I imagine something large has happened. When they'll get back on their feet - who knows.

tredwel, i dont know much about web-hosting and all that, but is this a reliable server your on? also, do you own it or run it? i know your a programmer of some kind, and your name is similar to the server name....just trying to figure it out. what keeps causing this? and what is tredsoft?

im very inquisitive today. a passing fad, im sure.

maybe we crashed it by refreshing the screen over and over. I know that's what I was doing.

Pyser

that could be. we did have unprecendented activity for our league between the forum and warroom....but still, theres only 30 of us...

I don't own the server, nor run it. I'm leasing it through an online agency. One of those $20/year thing. Tredsoft.com is just the alias for the server, which I also registered.

And it's been fairly reliable. Over the last nine months, there has been downtime, but nothing over an hour or two. Overall, I've been very happy with the service that www.siteflip.com has been giving me. This is easily the worst downtime I've seen from them.

I doubt it's caused by us entirely. I mean, it's been able to support thirty people each downloading a 3 MB league file at once.

I wonder if they have some kind of protection software, where the server shuts down if there's a sudden increase in activity. It's just a wild guess because I know nothing about this stuff, but I'm sure the server felt like it was getting attacked yesterday.

Good news: We're back online.

Bad news: Whatever it was appears to have eaten my email for the day. So I have not received Cleveland's pick.

If you're out there, B&B, go in and pick, and we can get moving again.

Well, I just selected, but it was the same pick that was lost in cyberspace.

Sorry but Ive been AFK since 3 EST
