The sound from my computer has suddenly become very deep and slow. For example, when the guy from AOL says "you've got mail" he soundls like Barry White on Qualludes. I also noticed the voices are much deeper when playing games with sound.

I have never had (or even heard of) this problem before. I have not noticed any other problems with the computer.

I recently ran spyware, checked for virus', deleted all cookies, files and history form the internet, and restarted the computer. I also reviewed the sound settings for my speakers and noticed nothing unusual. I did not notice any kind of controls for my speakers that would even allowme to make them sound the way they are sounding.

Does anyone have any ideas?

You could have had something set your defaults on your soundblaster EAX to something other than "no effects". That's happened to me.

Of course, you have to have a Soundblaster Live or Audigy card for this.

Also, update your drivers to the latest release. That has solved problems I've seen where everybody starts sounding like "The Chipmunks", so that may not have an effect against Barry White.

Hope one of these ideas is helpful.

Exactly how does a wait of 2 hours and 26 minutes equate to you being forsaken?

Dutch's comment about EAX on a Live or Audigy card sounds likely. Some games (especially game demos that have not been thoroughly tested) have a nasty habit of resetting your default EAX environment on you.
