I have MD in my final 4, but I was pullin' for UTEP. What a great year for their program. Almost got it to OT...kudos to all UTEP fans on the board, they played well.

I just noticed.. both teams shot exactly the same.. 29-58.. can't get much more even than that

UTEP got hosed by the refs in the final minute.

Meaning the 'block' call instead of the 'charge', and the foul instead of the obvious jump ball.

well.. they had to set up the battle of the champs... 2002 vs. 2003... Maryland vs. Cuse..

Nah, I have to work tonight so I can't get drunk before work. Dammit...
I'll give credit to Maryland. They kicked our asses on the boards and they hit their free throws when it counted. They're one of the worst free throw shooting teams in the country but they hit their last five down the stretch.
It looked kinda bleak halfway through the second half, and I'm proud of the Miners for coming back and taking the lead. I agree with Shorty, there were some questionable calls, but the refs were calling it tight all game.
Great season for the Miners. They came into the season with most of thier fans hoping for a .500 record. Instead they were co-WAC champs and an NCAA at large team. I really hope that Coach Gillispie stays around for another few seasons and finishes what he started here.
Go Miners!
