Yes, Georgia is still a state. More sad than funny. Like my joke. :)

RECTUM clearly would fit on that plate...

I'm surprised we don't have this one in Florida, home of 80+ specialty plates. Or maybe we do.

I can't believe they put their web address on the license plate. Is traffic so bad in Atlanta that they want to give away a web address to browse to while stopped? Wait, don't answer that question, I've driven through Atlanta...

This didn't turn out to the be license plate I was expecting it to be.

As an aside, the addition of the web address was (IIRC) something mandated by the Legislature last year as a way of promoting the use of the state website (for renewals, applications, etc). Kinda makes sense really, it's like free billboard space, which I prefer them to use vs spending tax dollars for the traditional kind.

Upon a little research (and remembering actually seeing these on the road), Oklahoma has a Bass, Deer, and Quail license plate.

With the duscussion going on in another thread about US sports moving to a ladder structure, it made me realize something. I wish the US could relegate Georgia...

Indeed the state of Indiana does do this and I have also wondered why although someone in this thread brought up a good point about spending fewer tax dollars on advertising for the site. Indiana has a ton of custom liscense plates available...i think it's nearly 100.

Florida's new plate has a redesigned orange image in the middle, "myflorida.com" at the top, and "sunshine state" at the bottom. I think website ads are the newest thing for state license plates. Pretty soon they'll all have them, just like the sale of naming rights for stadiums was inevitable.

I am not sure about the legislature mandating it(no reason to doubt Jon I just don't know myself), but I think putting the website on the license plates is a very good idea. The DMV's in the Atlanta area are absolutely horrible, anything to promote the fact that you can renew your license and registration online is ok by me. It could potentially save the state a lot of money I would imagine.

So, do you think that if I ordered a trout license plate with a customized "NMYRCTM" that the state would have any idea? Hmmmm, wonder what my fiancee would say? As long as I don't order it for her car maybe :)

If people are driving along looking at license plates to get web addresses, I don't think I want to be driving along near them. Cell phones are bad enough, now you want them to be copying down web addresses and browsing while driving

Just seems like a weird place to stick a web address, that's all.

I promise you, if you drive while surfing the net, eating, talking on the phone, watching tv and baking muffins, you probably still drive better than most people in Atlanta. Of course, the traffic has been so bad recently that you could probably bake and eat those muffins between exits on 285 north.
