Not many people talk about this game here, but I thought I would post this anyway.

from the developer--
Hello,
I'm pleased to announce that Total Extreme Warfare 2004 has now entered the "gold" phase of development. This means that coding has now finished, and testing is complete. An official release date for the game will be announced in a few days time.

I'm not excited about it because I played EWR quite a bit while it was free. And it felt like I was the only wrestling federation owner. It didn't really feel like all of the other promotions existed. I don't know how they can improve this, but I don't think it's even something being thought about for this new version that I'll have to pay for. I stopped playing EWR because I just got bored of it, so I don't see myself playing it again until I see something I like.

I had fun messing around with it for a while, but it just seemed very tedious after a while. I'm not even sure what it was, but it got to be a chore to set up the cards, and eventually my mouse hand would just give out from the clicking.

Hmm ... I wonder if it'll hit the streets while I'm away on vacation? Oddly enough, I kinda hope it does, by the time I get back there ought to be enough feedback to determine its status.

So will this be another buggy mess, or will it work straight off the eliscense.

MikeVic, read some of the features for it, all of the other feds in the game book their cards, change titles, push new talent etc. and you can look at what they are booking. So it really shouldn't feel like you are the only promotion this time around.

Calis, booking is no longer done in steps as was done in EWR, when you go for a segment it is all there in front of you, no more steps, thats what made EWR booking tedious.

Hmm. Apparently, the Demo will only last for 1 day. Guess that means getting the most out of the demo as soon as possible, before deciding as to whether or not it warrants a purchase.

The two things that kept me from enjoying EWR was the booking a card (so much clicking) and that there was only a "Next Day" button. Would have been so much better if I could just sim to my next card, stopping for imprtant news. I plan on checking out the new game when it comes out.

The lack of a 3 day demo will prevent me from checking it out, unless I hear plenty of positive feedback on this board.

Awesome, I might just give this a go then.
Thanks for the info.

I lke EWR, even some things were tedious. I think IŽll try it, even buy it.
I love the idea, but I don't buy from 400Sports anymore.
Wasn't there another sim (besides echoice) that was from an independant guy?

Probably talking about Oliver Copp's TNM series?
What does TNM stand for? That might be it.

You know, that's a good question. I've got a link to the site:
http://www.tnm7.de/cgi-bin/tnmcms.cgi?page=main
But I can't seem to find a 'full name definition' anywhere...or maybe, I'm looking too hard.
EDIT: Went about the website...and I seriously can't find out what it stands for. Everything and everywhere just seems to say: "TNM" and all.

TNM stands for TourNaMent. It started out as just a game that simmed tournaments for wrestlers.

Thanks! Saved myself a headache from pondering on this too much. :)

TNM was good for it's time.. but EWR blew it away several versions ago.

I went into the little wrestling text game unsure what to expect. People seem to have less patience with 1st edition stuff than they used to.
I am under the impression now, after seeing some feedback from wrestling sites who downloaded it, that it will not sell. I am thinking of just giving it away and letting some use get out of it. Maybe even give out the source code. It has been a letdown, but considering it was just a shot in the dark, I cannot expect too much.
Here's an idea: (Senator)
Let people have the first version for free. Then use all the feedback to create a kick-ass second version for sale.

Sounds fair to me.
FOF1 sold like pancakes, though!
