Novel idea. He might have been going for #2 today...
I don't know how much confidence you can have with a guy that went to full counts on the first 3 batters he faced.
As a Royals fan, I was very happy to see him come in, knew we had a chance :)
We really need to keep the ball in the ballpark, sheesh. That Thomas AB in the first really was something though.

I'm not saying he's good, but if he's the closer, you let him close. I f-ckin' hated Mitch Williams closing for the Phillies, but at least they let him save it or blow it, since he was the guy.
Maybe Koch can be the next "Fullpack" - Earl Weaver's nickname for Don Stanhouse, who was the original Mitch Williams. Weaver used to smoke a full pack of cigs every time he pitched.

Now if only the Indians could figure out what a save is (sigh)

Your mood seems to change daily.. you had kc as being f'n overrated and finishing below cleveland and minnesota and chicago.. and now its kc and chicago for the divison? heh :P
I can tell you right now.. Koch won't last the season as closer.. every batter ran him to a 3-2 count.. mostly by taking pitchs till he threw a strike

well yea, i mean koch will last a week or 2 at most at closer, but I expected that. lol
go marte. And KC is overrated, just the rest of the central is too, and they suck
