And as much as Ainge may have screwed over the team in certain ways after he took over, the chance we may hire Paul Westphal is intriguing. Imagine seeing uptempo basketball in Boston :)

Don't get me wrong, I love watching the Mavs play. It's much more fun than the slow down game that has been prevelant the past few years. Unfortunatly, it hasn't taken the Mavs to the finals, and it looks like they may have passed their window of opportunity.

Sad as it may sound, defense wins championships. And it's difficult to play D if your players are just worried about getting back down the floor to score again...

I think Ainge has done a great job thus far. He has his vision and he's going to stick to it, plus it was painfully obvious the Celtics weren't going any farther than the Eastern Conference finals with the team they had. I'm really interested in what he's going to do with these 3 first rounders. I'm hoping he trades two of them to move up and take a scorer and then uses the 3rd to take a PF, maybe some like Kris Humphries. It's going to be a while before the Celts compete but when they do this time around they should have a realistic chance at a title.

Payback is a bitch. Personally I think we(indy) are going to hammer those guys. But stranger things have happened.

Last year after I wrote my final exam, I felt like taking a break and just getting away from things. So, literally within 4 hours of writing the exam I got on a bus to Boston by myself to see the Pacers Celtics game 6 (tickets were easy to get). From Ottawa, it is about an 11 hour bus ride. I get to Boston around 1 in the afternoon, walk around downtown for a good six hours (beautiful downtown BTW) and proceed to watch the Pacers get the shit kicked out of them, they lost by like 30 & were eliminated. I'm telling you I was the only guy in the building wearing a Pacers jersey, it was the worst. So after the game, I went straight to the bus station and about 12 hours later I was home. Not sure if I would do that again, but if the Pacers go deep this year I might have to make the 24 hour bus trek down to Indy.

Cool story about that trip was the bus station there doesn't have any lockers. So I couldn't store my bag anywhere & you can't bring backs into the game, they have a storage place but it closes at like 9:00, so that wasn't an option unless I wanted to leaave the game early. I was telling a cab driver my sad story as he was driving me to Fenway (thought I would use my six hours wisely) and he offered to hold my bag for me until after the game. Me, being a trusting Canadian decided what the heck. I didn't have any real valuables in the bag (diskman, few clothes, book etc.. After the game I call the guy on his cell and he actually answered! He comes to pick me up outside the Fleet center, I ride in the front seat as he drives me to the bus station with the meter off, turns out he is a huge Celtics fan, so we were talking hoops. I tipped him twenty dollars, but I don't think he expected anything. He was a quality guy though. Just thought I would share that.

The Detroit Pistons are now clearly the best team in the Eastern Conference.
With Rasheed and Ben down low, the Piston guards are able to play pressing perimeter defense...i just dont see how Idiana can match up with them.

I'm also intrigued with the 3 picks we have. I love the thought of Kris Humphries, too me he seems like the solid low post player that we need! Blount (who i still feel is overrated) will be gone, but we'll also have Raef coming back next year and another year of development for Kendrick Perkins, Brandon Hunter, and Marcus Banks. Though I was depressed after Danny Boy traded Toine I've come to realize the real plus from that trade wasnt Raef, but Jiri Welsch whose turned out to be a real defensive leader.

Agreed. I have seen them play lately, and I feel that they are the Eastern team to beat now.
