I wonder if there is a cabal out there of fans who truly believe that Baseball Mogul is the pinnacle of sports text sim achievement.
Ah, who wants needless micromanaging like left/right handedness anyway? It's not like real baseball teams do that stuff.

I think you just wanted to use "cabal" in a posted sentence. ;)

Well, I do believe I had more fun playing BM than any sports sim since. I don't play it anymore because of its shortcomings (L/R batting being the most notable for me), but at the time it was released it was so far ahead of every other sim. It is sad that the game never got any better (and may have gotten worse).

Mogul was a nice "starter career sim" back in 1997.........

I tried to play Mogul a few months ago. It was a bad experience.

There are also some people who think April has 31 days. That was part of my point. That pic is on the sportsmogul front page. Either someone hacked it and put it on there as a joke, or someone over there is asleep at the wheel.
Or both.

i enjoyed it alot back in the day(bought 3 versions of it) although i never played the others like i did the first one.(and i don't think you could tell any differance in the gameplay). The football version was terrible.

There are also some people who think Baseball Mogul was "the first true career text sim" when it wasn't even close to being the first one.

The first sports sim I ever played and I liked it a lot then. That led me to FOF and I've tried to go back and play BM's new versions a few times, but there is never any progress with the game. Its really a shame because it could have been a great franchise.

Ah, the memories of '92, playing midnight oils game called HeadCoach, trying to win superbowls every season. I can still remember fondly some of my careers while I was dreaming about the genre that wasn't to be invented yet until '97. ;)

Maybe a better way to phrase it would be that BM put "career text sims" on alot of our "radar" for the first time. :)

That is most likely a true statement. :)
I remember when BM came out myself but I couldn't tear myself away from CM 97/98 which was based on the already showing it's age CM2 engine long enough to really get hooked on it. :)
