this past friday I went to Turning Stone as I was bored while visiting the parents. I grabbed $100 out of my "gambling fund" and headed out to play some 1-3 Hold'em.

Get to the table, 1st hand I don't fold is AA. K, i raise to $4 and get 2 callers. flop comes... A 10 10. WOOHOO I think and proceed to cap it. 4th street is a K, I cap it again still with 3 of us in the pot. River comes... 10 FUCK. I knew I was done, I knew one of em HAD to have that 10. I check then call for $3. We show..

AA for me A-A-A-10-10
AK for #1 A-A-K-K-10
10-6 for #2 A-10-10-10-10 who wins the $140 or so pot ugh.

I fold a bunch more hands then move spots at the table when someone at the other end leaves. 1st hand down there, A-K and win a good pot. I then procees to basically win every hand the rest of the night, royally pissing people off :D

8-8? Flop a set, j-6? hit a set on 4th street. All night it was like that, I hit 3 full houses in a row at one point. I couldn't lose a hand.

11 hours
+$240

Finally walked away when I stayed with 3-4 suited, flopped a STRAIGHT when the flop came 5-6-7 then another 7 on 4th street gave the other guy a full house but I didn't lose too much at least.

We had 2 complete idiots at the table, tyring to bluff every pot and betting out with nothing (on 1-3!) so I was glad to take their money. The table was loose to put it mildly. Almost every hand you could see the flop for $1 which is what I did if I had a resonable hand once I was up, good hands I raised every time to try and get as many limpers out as possible. An unbelievable session to say the least :)

How's are the games usually at Turning Stone? Do you recommend the poker room?

I live practically equidistant from AC and Turning Stone, as they are the two closest casinos to me (About a 3 hour drive, PA sucks). I figure if I ever want to get off my rear end and actually play in a live game, it would have to be at one of those two locations.

Turning Stone is nice, it gets jammed in the afternoons and evenings (when the college kids show up in droves). You can call ahead to get put on the lists if you want, I reccommend getting there before 3pm. There was 12 1-3 games going on friday (there's a lounge where they put more games if the poker room is full, that's also where the tournies are played).

I reccommend it, it's the only B&M place I've played (until the Senaca's get their poker room up and running) so I can't compare it to others (Binion's doesn't count since it was vacation). Lots of regulars in the mornings then a TON of people at night (I had a lot of fish at my table but not always like that). Service is good, there's a couple of tv's in there to watch stuff/check scores when you are out of hands. All the tournies are rebuys (which sucks IMO) so I haven't played any there yet.

Anyone up for a Turning Stone FOFC meet-up? I'm going to go after the semester - likely the 3rd week of May. Would be willing to change my plans to meet up with FOFCers, though.:)

The tourneys blow - don't even bother playing them. Seriously, in the rebuy period, you can't play a NoLimit hand without being allin preflop, and in limit games, the preflop and flop are capped every hand. No joke.

I'm down for whenever, I believe we could get a private table too if we wanted.

I mean, it's not like I have a job restricting when I can go right now :D

Yeah, I'm not surprised at that. That's exactly why I don't play rebuys, they're just dumb IMO. Especially the way they have them setup, $35 buy but $5 rebuys? Sheesh, encourage rebuys a little more...

I doubt we'd have enough people for a private table. I have work every day 8-5, but I can skip out of it for a day to go to TS, of course, though. I could also leave early, or could go on a weekend. I'm up for anything, basically. As soon as the semester is over I'm not constrained at all. (first week of May is finals)

Yeah, even if we just show up we'll prob end up being on a new startup table with even 3 or 4 of us. Turning Stone is fun, I just wish it was a little closer to Rochester...

How far is it for you, anyways? 1:45-2:00 hours from Troy.

it's about 2hrs 15mins from Rochester. I usually go when I visit the parents in Syracuse since it's only 45 mins away from there.

It's 1hr 30mins to the niagara falls casinos from here so I usually go there with friends but there's no poker. Besides, they wouldn't play poker anyways so they'd get bored watching me play for hours and hours lol.
