SO are the Red Wings in "total meltdown mode" right now? That was a pretty brutal lose they took.

Nope only 1 win. Another year is about gone, ah a Blues fan.

Never...Manny isn't their problem. Goaltending is the least of their problems. They need a leader. Shanahan has to play better. The coaching staff has to do whatever it takes to wake the team up and remind them that they are getting beat in powerplays, and in the neutral zone.

Yzerman has to step up.

Poor H_B. He's probably having a bad day.

Thanks for the concern, klayman. And yes, as a matter of fact, I am. :(

Thoughts on the Wings game from the morning after game 4:

Regardless of the outcome of this playoffs, this really has to be the last go-around for this team in its current stage. They are just too damn slow, and I'm sure a big part of that has to do with their age. Nothing new there though.

Legace didn't really let in any softies, but he hasn't stepped up and made the big save when needed, at least in the last two games. Nashville is homing in on a couple of his faults (especially how he likes to drop down early) and they are exploiting them nicely. I think putting CuJo in, at least for game five, is the best move.

The veterans need to take over. Yzerman has been all but invisible this playoffs, Chelios can do nothing but turn the puck over, and Hull and Shanahan can do nothing but shoot wide or right into the chest of Vokoun. Even though they tallied over 40 shots again, they had only 3 or 4 decent scoring chances.

They're doing a good job of taking penalties, though. What in the hell was with Shanahan slashing that guy's neck?! Get it under control and play some damn hockey.

Let's hope the kick in the nuts woke the sleeping giant.

They looked pretty damn good. Don't know if Cujo was tested enough. Also, Shanahan, you aren't out of the doghouse yet...Y isn't either.

Beating Nashville in your own building does not a Stanley Cup make.

No, but winning on the road does. I never once, in either thread about this year's playoffs, said that the wings were gonna win the cup because of this victory. It is interesting however, that Vokoun himself said that Nashville can't play a finese game and expect to win.

"If we try to play a skill game, they're going to beat us 10 out of 10 times," Vokoun said.

A little irony considering the Wings came out tougher than Nashville in this game.

We will have to wait and see.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come out confrontational. I have several Wing fans as friends, who 2 nights ago swore off ever watching hockey again, and now are sure that the Wings will "deservedly" win the cup. I've made my mission in life to bring all Wing fans back down to earth :)

I can't see how Nashville wins this series unless Vokoun stands on his head in the next 2 games.

Damn, all he has to do is stand on his head in a game 7 because it's obvious that the Wings can't win in Nashville.

Vokoun scares the shit out of me.
