I'm a huge sports guy and love playing the GM role in games...

IS THIS GAME WORTH INVESTING TIME TOO...

If you really love sports sims, then unless you have zero interest in baseball you'll probably enjoy OOTP.

I have zero interest in baseball, and I still like OOTP.

If haven't played any of the prior OOTP's then you will REALLY love this game.

Only Marmel can like baseball and dislike OOTP.

And he still plays it!

I would agree. OOTP6 is my first version, and I'm liking it so far....other than the fact that the game is so deep, I keep figuring out there's stuff I haven't adjusted or found yet! Mind you, that's a good thing, but I've had to start my league over 3 times already after finding important stuff I wanted to do! :)

I'm finding this game to be a little underwhelming right now, and have only fiddled with it on and off for around two or three hours now. I agree with Marmel, that if you've played version 5 there isn't a lot to see here ... however if this is your first shot at Out of the Park then by all means.

It's still a great game, but like I said if if you've played version 5 then you aren't missing out on to much.

That's my fivethousandfourhundred&thirtytwocents, anyway.

Well, I would say that what some must have been looking for is "more fluff", new interface, more pictures, charts, etc.......believe me this ISN'T OOTP5 "under the hood".

I really don't have a problem with games using the same interface. The time that it takes to design a whole new interface can be better spent on other areas.

I completely agree with you here, FBPro. I don't know what it is, but I'm just nowhere near as excited right now as I was last year for this game. I guess it's hard to explain. What kind of soured me a little was reading the discussion going on here and hearing all of the problems and things left out.

I don't know. However, I stick to my suggestion ... if you have not played previous versions, grab this game.

Its not the interface that bothers me. I could care less about that. There is a new rating system, but really, it is the same process as the old rating system. Contact=contact. gap power=double. hr power=homerun power.....you get the drift.

The game really plays identical to OOTP5. If anything the results are a little less predictable which is good, but in the end, it still doesn't have a true baseball feel to it.

I also noticed a lot of 'streakiness' if you will. Both in terms of players stats and team wins and losses. Every season it seems I go on a couple extended winning and losing streaks and my hitters and pitchers do the same. Almost like the game is making sure the stats catch up to the ratings. I don't know if it is that exactly...hard to really put my finger on it.

I'd wait until the price went down. I preordered it, because I was completely engrossed in OOTP5, which was my first version. I bought this one, because I guess I got into the hoopla over it and had the money to burn.

I like OOTP a lot, especially compared to MVP where I love the graphics, but hate the limitations. So I'll probably fire it up this summer sometime, OOTP6 that is. I haven't done much of anything with it yet.
