I am amazed, I guess naively, that this is allowed to go on. Also, this kind of puts in perspective my struggles and lazyness. Children have been the victim of stupid people for too long.

The European Union, which Turkey aspires to join, is pressing the country to take steps against a practice it says is a violation of women's rights.

Considering they're talking about intentional homicide of a family member, I would hope they use slightly stronger language than that.
