Please be forwewarned - you may need to possess certain skills and/or knowledge to solve this puzzle.

Fill in the nine blanks below with the digits one through nine, once each, making all three equations true.

__ / __ = __

__ - __ = __

__ + __ = __

I have one solution - I suspect there are more that work.

Don't even think about using abbreviations or shorthand.

It's absolutely accurate - and I didn't want anyone to be blindsided by the puzzle's requirements. Just trying to play fair.

Seems to me, the "knowledge" you need is that the first line has to involve 2, 4, and 8 or 2, 3, and 6. I tried 2, 4, and 8, and didn't like what I saw with the remaining 6 numbers, so I tried 2, 3, and 6.

Not a fair puzzle at all.

What about "!"? What about "*"? Or even "^"?

If you are going to make a puzzle using mathematical symbols, you should use them all. Just my 2 cents.

6/2=3
9-4=5
1+7=8

I can't get anything to work using 8,4, and 2 on the division line... so I suspect that all the correct solutions will end up being reshufflings of the same trios of numbers as we see above.

Anyone have anything fundamentally different?

Nope. That's what I get as well.

What I managed to get:

6 / 3 = 2

8 - 7 = 1

5 + 4 = 9

Couldn't get anything to work out with 8,4, and 2 on the top.

Fill in the ten blanks below with the digits one through ten, once each, making all three equations true. You add your own signs, using only the four basic signs and no tricks such as decimals, fractions, etc.

__ __ = __

__ __ = __

__ __ __ = __

However, in the spirit of FOFC, assume that for this puzzle the number 3 has a value of 30, 4 has a value of 40 and 5 has a value of 15.

(I can see a handful of solutions; let's see who can be most creative.)

The guys in my office now think I'm insane, because I haven't stopped laughing in a couple of minutes now. Quik, I hope this made your day better...

By the way, here's one potential answer:

7 + 8 = 5
4 - 3 = 10
6 + 2 + 1 = 9

It's impossible if you start with 8 / 4 = 2. If you start that way you only have one even number left(6) and you need at least one even number for each of the next two lines. odd +/- odd = even. So you have to start out with 6 / 3 = 2.
