Many of us conservatives have felt assaulted by Justice Souter for sometime now. But of course, that doesn't make what happened to him right or justified.

Well, had Bush done his homework, he would have been able to see what Souter would have done. It was right in front of his face. That's what you get for simply picking someone you think will agree with you just because he's friends with John Sununu.

I'm glad he's okay. I think he's one of the better, more thoughtful justices we have currently on the Court.

Hey, I fully support George W. Bush today, but as for his dad, I would rather have had Jimmy Carter back as President. I mean, if your going to have a complete dud in as President, always better that he comes from the other party! :D

Ever since the Souter appointment, the President's vetting process for justices has changed so that they are more familiar with the potential justice's positions. In fact, Democrats were just as afraid of having a "souter" appointment when Clinton got his picks that they vetted as much as possible. However, this likely not have prevented a "Souter" since his positions are more process oriented than results oriented. I just think Souter is a reflective individual who is not really liberal or conservative.
