NEW YORK (AP) -- For all the attention given to this week's "Friends" finale, another long-running comedy taped its final episode a few weeks ago -- and few people outside its Hollywood set were aware of it (http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/TV/05/03/apontv.drews.exit.ap/index.html)
I kind of liked the Drew show for a few years, but then I started working a lot of nights, and couldnt catch it. Then it got dumb. But I had no idea it was still filming.

I had no idea that the show was even running anymore. Not that I was ever a huge fan of it or anything...

It was a real good show in it's prime but once it lost it's base in reality it got kind of tedious. The characters ended up becoming carictures and the stories got really really out there.

What happened to the Kate character on that show? I stopped watching for three years, caught it one night, and the woman who palyed the crazy lady on Guiding Light was suddenly on it.
Uhhhh, not that I've ever watched Guiding Light.

I know the girl who played Kate is currently on Scrubs but i have no idea if shes still DC anymore (I havn't seen an ep in 2 or 3 seasons).

I hope they do well in the summer and make ABC look like fools for relegating them to "second tier status" when ABC didn't have much to put out there as it was this season. Then laugh in their faces when they try to get them back for a season.

Yeah, Christa Miller is her name. I couldn't remember her name. Anyway, no, she hasn't been on Drew's show for two or three years now.

It hasn't aired yet. In fact, the final season hasn't even started airing yet. Check in the summer.

Wow. A final season airing through summer? I've always figured most shows have their "season/series" finale just before summer, and then 'start' the new 'season' in late fall or the like.
That's what always irritated me as a kid, when summer had started, and all the shows are friggin' repeats. Still...the only time I've seen Drew Carey is either on FOX or the WB, around 5 or so. Well, hm. Don't know what it is now, but eh.

For a couple of seasons the show was very good, but then it got real bad real fast.

I think the show lost a lot of focus when Carey had those health problems and had to change his lifestyle a little bit. Nothing like staring death in the face to make you rearrange things.
And of course it was ABC. Ever since Disney took over that and ESPN, that network couldnt put on a good show to save their lives. Oh wait. The bosses that allowed that stupidity got fired.
Too bad Disney still owns them. Because that show deserved better than it was treated. Funny how all of us didnt even know it was still in production, much less a finale filmed.
Great work Eisner. You suck.
I watched the show before I went around S. America in 2001. Once I got to California, it was hard to find the show on anymore.

Me, neither (and Annie was crazy, wasn't she).

DC was always one of my favorite shows, but I really wish Dawson and Joey had ended up together in the end.
Oh you mean Drew Carey. I honestly thought it was gone. It's been moved around so much and be difficult to find on the TV to watch the last couple seasons, no wonder it's been doing so bad.

Ditto here...watched the first few years, lost interest after that. For a season or two, Drew WAS ABC, then they did a 180 on him, dropped his other show, and yanked the main show around. I found that to be odd at the time. Maybe it was an over-reaction to the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire over-saturation thing.
Last time I watched it, Christa Miller was still around and Drew was in the middle of getting married to some other chick but wanting to tell Christa's character how he felt. Never saw what came of that whole thing, but from the sound of it, Drew's not married but got some chick pregnant...looks like he went the white trash route of the Roseanne, Brett Butler, and Reba McIntyre shows, which wouldn't have appealed to me even if ABC still heavily promoted him. Oh well.

Man, I never liked this show. I thought it was cancelled about 5 years ago. I had no idea it was still on. Well, see you later Drew.

Occasionally, I'll see someone walking around with a Mimi shirt on, and it makes me bust out laughing.
The fact that someone is still wearing (or ever wore, for that matter) the shirt, not her.
