Things have been really hectic for me lately. Haven't played much of any text sims in 2-3 weeks. I was impressed with the Beta 1 of this. Can anyone comment on how it is progressing?

<HR>May 10th, 2004 - PureSim 2004 Open Beta 7 Released

Beta 7 has been released. Visit the updated Home Page and Download it today (http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=1755908&s=12083873) Thanks to the avalanche of support and downloads for the beta so far. I never expected this much activity! Keep the feedback coming. Coolest Thing about beta 7? GameCast - Animated Ball Flight

Beta 7 updates the gamecast feature to use a animated ball flight line. So when a ball is put in play instead of just drawing a graphic on the field indicating where it was hit, the game actually animates the line. It sounds small, but it truly adds to the experience. There are a number of other fixes and tweaks included as well.
PureSim Users Going crazy with the new ballpark designer feature!

Wow, I am shocked at the interest in the new ballpark designer feature. Its great to see all the cool parks being designed/mapped by folks. Some loyal PureSimmers have really done some nice work with this feature, already mapping dozens of parks. User "Spharv" has even released a zip file that contains a number of parks (40+) that he created. Here are a couple of examples of some user-created parks I have downloaded from fan sites and tried out: <TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD>http://www.puresim.com/park1_small.jpg (http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=1755907&s=12083873) </TD><TD>http://www.puresim.com/park2_small.jpg (http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=1755904&s=12083873) </TD></TR><TR><TD>http://www.puresim.com/park3_small.jpg (http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=1755903&s=12083873) </TD><TD>http://www.puresim.com/park4_small.jpg (http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=1755905&s=12083873) </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>Visit the PureSim message board or PureSim fansites to download some user-created parks today! (http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=1755909&s=12083873) Paid Beta? You mean I have to pay to test?

At first it may sound strange but it actually works out great. First of all I get serious testers, and also have the chance to greatly increase the number of folks who can test compared to hand picking a few testers. Second, you get to play the game a month before it's general release. If you can accept the fact that there may be issues over the next month and would like to have an influence on the direction of the game, then it might be good to consider participating. Otherwise, I'd wait for the release. I'm sure this is probably obvious, but if you get the paid beta you get the released game at now additional charge. In fact the paid beta goes for $29.99 and the relase version will retail for $34.99, so you'll save some cash too. Status of the code

Beta 7 is very stable. There are still some issued being worked out and there is still a lot of work to do with balancing real player statistical modeling. Beta 7 is 100% compatible with any associaiton created with any version of PureSim. Visit the Beta Page for more info (http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=1755910&s=12083873) How does the process work?

First download beta 7 here (http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=1755910&s=12083873)

Next, install and launch the game and use the integrated secure purchase (eLicense system) to activate your copy. The price is $29.99 and the download is about 37mb. No bug, issue or complaint is too small!

Most importantly head over to the beta forum and post any feedback / issues you have (no matter how small). The forum can be accessed here. (http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=1755906&s=12083873) The whole point of an open beta is to get as much testing coverage and feedback as possible. We have the next 3-4 weeks to really polish this thing up. After the release I'll continue to post updates over the summer (like the good old days!).

Thanks to all the folks for your interest in PureSim.
