To all,
Just yesterday I downloaded the most recent version of FOF. It is my first venture back into the FOF world since the ninties. I must say that at first glance I am overwhelmed at the statistical depth of this game. I found this forum and saw that it was pretty active and thought I would come here to ask for help.
Does anyone here have any "getting started" suggestions or steps to follow? I was able to download the roster file with actual player names (thanks Primelord, whom I think is the poster who created it) and get it in the right place. I started my new game and have simulated a few weeks of games. I guess I just need an idea of how to get myself "really" going.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Phil
I'm looking forward to your dynasty!
(In all seriousness, you should post this in the General Discussion forum instead of the Dynasty forum. I would go ahead and answer your question but I haven't played anything but the first FOF and The College Years so my best guess at how you should proceed could be way off.)

Welcome!
Here's a good place to start for reference info:

Check the reference thread at the top of the General Discussion forum for a listing of all important threads. The link you'd probably be interested in is the walkthrough (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16968), but there are tons of other pieces of information you can find in that thread.
See they are better at this than I am :)

And feel free to ask any questions. You'll get plenty of smartass comments, but once in a while, you'll receive useful answers... ;)
And as MJ4H said, you should really post this in the general forum, you'll have many more users see your posts...
Oh, and welcome !

Thanks for the quick responses guys!
Thanks for the advice as well. I did debate which group to post the message in, but in browsing the General Discussion board, it seemed to more of a current events discussion rather than a FOF one.
Unfortunately, I don't think I will have the time to post the results of my franchise here but I do plan on coming back from time to time.
Also, thanks for the warning about sarcasm. I am a bit sarcastic myself from time to time, so I will feel right at home! :p

Smart ass comments from FOFC posters? Never! :)

That's what happens if a group tries to find new topics after having discussed FOF and its later versions since 1999... every now and again, we actually get on-topic when a rook drops by.
