I could not resist letting the board know about the recent addition to the family as well, even though it was almost a month ago. It is nice to see the pride and joy of others and I figured I would get into the mix. So here is the link to my baby boy.....Landon Everet Marks and a few pics of the older sister, Larissa Emily Marks. Many more sleepless nights to go.

How beautiful your family is. Congrats to you. Both Landon and Larissa have very poetic names. I like 'em.
I agree, the 'pride and joy' is refreshing.

Congrats!
I'm hoping that when the time is right I'll accomplish the same thing as you, one of each. Hopefully a boy first and then a girl.
Need to have the boy first to keep those vultures off his baby sister.
Ugh, I'm already dreading having a daughter of dating age...

LOL!!
I am glad our daughter was first, cause if my son was, we would have stopped at one. My boy is a handful. The parent curse hit. You know the one, may your children be twice as worse as you.
He will still protect his sister, also she has cousins and uncles that will watch her back.

That's funny, but the curse probably hit me on the daughter. She is not a bad child. She just wants to challenge you on everything. I am hoping I don't get a double dose of the curse. The boy has been significantly easier...so far. Crossing as many fingers as I can.

Thank you Clover; fellow Gemini. I was quite impressed with everyone's openness to show their children to a number of us on the board and figured that I should share as well. Very cool phenomenon.

I am dreading that as well, but it is probably because I have seen too much of Maury Povich (hope I spelled that right). She already wants some sort of independence and she is just 3 years old. Should be an interesting journey.

Congrats, but I have to say.
Clicking on this thread, with its title, I had such high hopes for a sordid story.

Need to have the boy first to keep those vultures off his baby sister....On the other hand, look at it this same way : the older brother will introduce his friends, ie older, to his younger sister... Not a good combo IMO... and incidently, a situation I have witnessed directly with my older bro (he was 18) and sis (she was 15)...
Ugh, I'm already dreading having a daughter of dating age...Same here. Won't happen though, she'll be locked away until she's 31...

You know, we had a "Show pics of your kids in here" kind of thread a few months ago... Maybe now is the time to start one again :)
I agree that I always find it cool to see other board member's kids. Pics of kids are always joyful :)

so did you get fries with that, because the last time I ordered it, they forgot the fries. Next time make sure to supersize the combo, although your wife may struggle with it.

That's a good idea. It's cool to know that we are more than just a text sim community. That's why I have always liked this board. It's great for news, comedy, drama, and a sense of hanging out at a bar.

No, no, no. I don't want to supersize that. Nine pounds and four ounces was enough for my wife to take. My girl was 8lbs. 6oz., so we had some heavy children already. I didn't get any fries and I definitely missed out on the soda.

My nearly 5-year old daughter is the same way. She started with the hands on the hips and rolling of the eyes when she was 3. And of course, the obvious testing of limits - I tell her not to put something in her mouth, she presses it up against her lips, and when I call her on it, she tells me she didn't put it in her mouth, etc. Fun times!
So far (4 days), our second daughter seems significantly more laid back - not as fussy, pretty quiet, likes to be held, etc. Very different from our other one.

We traced our first daughter's conception to one of two dates...and one of them was when we stayed at my in-law's house over Thanksgiving. We slept in their bed - meaning that I might have gotten the daughter pregnant in the father's bed.
We've never told her parents, of course.
