What are some good passing percentages to start with. I have a stud QB and a stud RB so I obviously want a balanced attack but do want my QB to throw more than he does now.

Well, start with the game's recommendation and tweak it from there. The exact changes you'll want to make depend on what kind of strengths your QB has and the types of receivers you've got. For a little more general idea, bump the 1st and 10 percentages a little bit in favor of passing, and then maybe raise the percent more dramatically in 2nd and short or 2nd and midrange distance. The other thing you might want to do, depending on your QB's strengths, is lower the number of screen and short passes you throw and raise the number of medium and long passes. Just a few points. Finally, check to make sure the players who are going downfield have strong ratings in Route Running and Getting Downfield. That should give you a more dangerous aerial attack.

There are a number of good strategy threads, probably linked in the All-Inclusive Reference Thread.

But for a start - look at the "main diagonal" of the gameplan screen; 1st Down: 8-10 yards, 2nd down: 3-7 yards, and 3rd down: 1-2 yards, and set each value to "50". From there, adjust a little bit on the areas around that main diagonal, and you should have a very balanced attack.

The "Main Diagonal" is definitely the easiest way to tinker with your run/pass percentages - just adjust those numbers to what you want your run/pass breakdown to look like, and you should get the results you want to see.
