I'll be headed up to Vegas in a couple of weeks and wanted to try my action in a low-stakes Hold-em tournament. Or possibly a black-jack tournament.
Me and 4 buddies will be at the Hard Rock from June 3-5. Where would be a good place/way to start looking for a tourney with around a $50 buy in?
I'm not that great a player, so I fully expect to lose, but it would be fun to do. And I don't know if there such a thing, but some kind of "beginner's tournament" would be ideal.
And... What is the best place to play low-stakes craps? I love the game, but my buddies are just learning it, so I know I won't be able to talk them into playing it unless we're at a table with around a $2 minimum.
was going to post a similar thread..... I'll be headed to Vegas for the 4th of July.... where is the best place for tournaments and low-limit poker?

FWIW - there's no beginners games set up.
There are usually tourneys just about every night. More on the strip than downtown. Mirage is always a solid bet. Entry fees and rules change for each individual game. Id recommend getting in something relatively small if its your first. Theres plenty under fifty bucks with less than a hundred players.

There is a link on this site to a very comprehensive list of tourney times and dates. They range from $15 all the way up to over $100. I played in several of them and had a good time. Only thing is on the lower amount tourneys that the blinds rise relatively quickly, so you have to hit a hand or bluff in a hurry. Best to bluff early in the game and hope no one hits a hand. Newbies will fold because they don't want to lose early. Enjoy!

That's what I was looking for. I'm not able to access the site right now (work blocks all sites that have anything to do with gambling), but it sounds like this is what I was after when I asked my question.
Thanks a bunch.

I hate re-buys.....
Same here. Folks make incredibly stupid plays because they have the safety net of a re-buy.
