They've been keeping the new games under development under wraps, but apparently they've decided to give out a little info...

</TD><TD class=post2 vAlign=top width="100%"><!-- THE POST 570748 -->Gary is currently working on TPB 2 and everyone around here is really excited about it. Gary has been working hard to incorporate all the feedback from v1 into v2, as well as adding some exciting new features that will really enhance gameplay. The interface has been completely reworked based on feedback on the ease of use and how there is 'too much clicking'. It is slated to begin beta testing later next month.

TDCB v2 will be a collaborative effort between Arlie and Gary, in a transition of the basketball line. Gary will begin taking more a more active role in developing both basketball products so that they work well together. Eventually we would like Gary to be the lead developer for the basketball line (perhaps I should tell him this? <!--emo&;)-->http://www.400softwarestudios.com/invboard/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif<!--endemo-->). TDCB v2 is scheduled for beta late summer, early fall.

Adam is working on a new project in the wrestling genre. It's not TEW v2, but something entirely different. I know I am personally excited about it, and I am actively participating in Adam's development team. I don't usually participate until the beta stage with most of our products. This project is slated for Beta late summer. TEW v2 development work is ongoing and no beta timeframe has been set for that project yet.

Arlie is working on TPF v.2 simultaneously with another project. However I cannot even begin to estimate a beta date for either project. Nor can I disclose what the other project is until it hits beta. Management issues related to personnel changes have really slowed his development schedule, and he is very much behind where we wanted to be at this point in the year. He is working double time to ensure that his projects are released close to the beginning of their respective seasons.

As you can see by the timelines above, all the developers here are making a serious effort to get their games released close to the beginning of the season. Without sacrificing crucial beta testing time.

As far as a racing sim - Geo, feel like coding a game? <!--emo&:)-->http://www.400softwarestudios.com/invboard/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif<!--endemo--> All of our developers are booked up for the rest of the year.

Personally, I'm glad to see things moving forward there. Less hyped, 2nd versions of all these games are a good thing and definately welcome.

I'll give TPF2 a look if there's customized league sizes and no major glaring errors.

Not to be a pessimist -- OK, I guess I AM a pessimist -- but Arlie is currently developing/coding THREE games at once -- TDCB 2, TPF 2 and Unknown 1. No offense intended, because I don't see anyone developing three games at once -- whether it be Jim Gindin, Will Wright or anyone else -- but I don't know if he can spread himself that thin and expect good results.

He is not doing it alone. He is co-developing TDCB 2 and TPB 2. TPF2 is the only one that I know of that he is working solo on and it should be a while before that one is released.

I think Antmeister hit the nail on the head. By saying I am working on multiple projects, it does not mean they will all be out in August ;)

We have a plan to where I will have plenty of time to complete each game - with the idea that one (or more) may not be released until next year. As I get further along, more info will come out on what each project is.

Now that we have this opportunity to re-evaluate the way we do everything from development to marketing to release dates, I have tried to go back to a process in development that I feel most comfortable with. There will also be some other noticeable changes in the way things are done and some of our policies as well as we continue to move ahead.

The point here was just to let people know that we don't plan on going away anytime soon and have a plan for the future products. But, as Farrah stated, we are going to be a little less heavy on the hype until the games are much closer to completion. So, it may look like we are being "quiet" when we are just busy.

This is a GOOD move. I have been critical in the past about Jim's silence during development but have definitely changed my stance regarding the hype machine.

Well, here's hoping the less "superstar" feel of .400 studios is a positive maturation of the company.

Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and in the end, the products will speak for themselves.

Good luck, 400, but I won't be going back until the post release Bug reporting is down to acceptable levels.

Which was on ESPN2 the other day. It's getting a national footprint. I hear they reduced their NHL agreements so they could get some live Curling matches on next year. It's the next big thing.
