OOTP RWBL Openings

The Real World Baseball League, an OOTP5 baseball league founded by and mostly occupied by FOFCers since May of 2002, is in the midst of its 12th season and we are looking for two new owners to take over tw struggling teams.

The Brewers are open and looking for a dedicated owner to bring them to glory. The Texas Rangers are another team looking for a new owner.

We are looking for an FOFCer that is willing to be an active board participant, has AOL Instant Messenger, OOTP5, and is not HornsManiac or one of his aliases (we have been HM-free for nearly two full years and several RWBL seasons!). We have a great team of owners and we have received praise for our stable of outstanding sports writers, so we are looking to add and grow upon that base.

Milwaukee has been taken.

Texas is still in need of an owner. The Rangers have enjoyed a lot of success in the RWBL, winning the AL West from 2002-2008, but have struggled in the post A-Rod years. They are a team with just a handful of quality big leaguers.

However, they do have two young cornerstones to build upon at AAA in 18-year old 1B Robert Burdette and 20-year old 3B Kenneth "The Turtle" Fahey. Burdette (B/B/G & 4/6/3) played all of 2013 in AAA and hit .320 with 28 homers. Fahey (G/B/A & 5/5/3) also played at AAA and hit .286 with 20 homers. In addition, the Rangers will have the first pick in the 2014 amateur draft.

If anyone out there is a Rangers' fan and an OOTP owner, that would be the perfect combination.

I'm kinda sick of the quirks of OOTP5 ... moving to OOTP6 would be a selling point for me :)

Granted, my Oakland squad has labored in 3rd or 4th place in the now dormant CFBL, so maybe enticing me isn't a great thing to begin with.

Alot of us CFBL rejects play there. I count at least 4(CFBL Tigers, Reds, Rockies, Angles). You should join.

Yeah, I keep thinking that Joseph Begaye, Freddie Freedman and Carmelo Gutierrez must really be tearing it up in the D-Rays 12-game winning streak. Then I remember, "Oh, wait, the real-life Devil Rays are good. It's my Devil Rays that suck the sweat off a dead man's balls. D'oh!"

There's also a hot rumor in Kansas City that has Carlos Beltran going to San Diego for Sean Burroughs and Xavier Nady. I'm one step from calling Allard Baird and telling him to pull the freakin' trigger and move Nady to second base.

The story here is that it was Beltran and Randa for Nady, Burroughs and Terrence Long. The Royals haven't said no, only wait and see. Allaird Baird is drooling over Mark Teahen and he wants to try to shoehorn the A's into any deal for Beltran.

RWBL Owners,

As many of you already know, there is a problem with logging onto the
RWBL
Message board. This can be explained by the following: Yesterday I
recieved a message from Andreas at OOTP that the new server was set up
and
ready to go. So I spent last night migrating everything from the old
RWBL
server to the new RWBL server. After that was completed I sent an
email
message to Andreas saying that I had completed moving all the files, it
was
now time to move the message board over. So he has done that. Here is
the
new address to the RWBL Site. NOTE: We will not be using the old one
anymore.

You will not have to create a new account, nor did we lose any
messages.
The only problem is that the HTML for the new site is not on the
server.
That will be on the site after tonight's sim. EVERYONE must download
the
file AFTER tonight's sim from the new site. Two reasons for that,
after
tonight the old site will have the wrong file, and the file on the new
site
will have the correct export options. If you have not exported yet for
tonight's sim you can still do it the same way. I just want to make
sure
everyone knows that this will be the last sim using the export options
listed in the file. I will be changing those tonight. Sorry for all
the
confusion but this was something that had to be done to keep the league
going. Sorry for any inconviences. Any other questions shoot me an
