Getting itchy for a new gaming experience---can't get back into my 01/02 game since a tragic error wiped a 15 year career...

Never really played CM 4 because of the error in the game in terms of long term attribute declining (positioning I think)

Well, the game is just sitting here, and I'm wondering if this problem ever got fixed, and if any of you guys ever really got into a long-term career with CM 4...

I haven't purchased 03/04, probably won't (unless I could buy it and download it on an impulse buy) so I'm hoping CM 4 can provide enough enjoyment to get me through the next few months till EHM and FM come out...

Thanks guys.

Kevin

the problem did not get fixed but you can have a 15 year career on it, just get a 4 good young central defenders at the start of the game and you really won't even notice it until they are 30+ and your looking for a replacement and even then you can still find a good player it just there are not alot of them(i had several 20+ year careers with cm4)

Well, one thing about the attribute problem is that, while it does happen, I think it affects most players about equally, so, while it still sucks, no extra advantages/disadvantages are had.

However, I really would recommend 03/04; I'm playing it right now, actually, and still having a blast.

The problem required a huge refit to the training system unfortunately so was only truly eradicated in CM03-04 (as it required total fubaring of the save game data), the last patch for CM4 did slow the decline somewhat but it was still visible if you looked for it.

As Ice4277 mentioned the problem wasn't biased to a particular team or player so the 'playing field' so to speak was still level, from that point of view while hardly ideal it doesn't make the game unplayable.

Sorry for any inconvenience,

Marc
