Which one should I go with?

OOTP6 vs Puresim

FBCB vs TDCB

FOF vs ?

Any good pro basketball games out there?

Most will say OOTP6, and at this stage they are probably right, although there are little niggling things to be annoyed at if you're a baseball perfectionist (like I am). Puresim is one made more for the perfectionist, I think (perspective-wise), but probably isn't as much fun and is an early-generation product that has had some big hurdles to overcome.

FBCB at this point, hands down. One of the most underrated sims from last year, if a little dry. TDCB is a solid game, but FBCB blows it out of the water, IMO.

FOF's main sim competition is TPF. I have never played TPF (or Puresim, I should say), but I understand it is a very "bells and whistles" game. Very good presentation. It's game engine and some other flaws, though, make it pale in comparison to the steady original in the FOF series.

I don't play it much anymore, but the best pro basketball game, as far as I know, is still the one by Heavy Reign, the guy who does FBCB. Fast Break basketball is the name of it.

.400 Software Studios released a pro basketball game last year, but I didn't get it, so I can't comment on it. Nothing I have heard says it surpassed FBB, though.

If you're into sims, keep an eye out for EHM:FE, a hockey sim coming out in July (likely), and if you can stand to get past soccer bias, go get CM03-04--it's the best sim sports title developed to this point.

I prefer Puresim, but I know I'm in the minority. For whatever reason, I get more immersed in my team with Puresim than I do with OOTP.

FBCB, about the easiest game vs game comparison there is. FBCB, IMO, is the best text sim out there (Yes, even better than FOF or CM)

So far, FOF by a mile. The biggest competition is TPF. From what I've seen, TPF's draft is better than FOF's, but FOF beats it on every other aspect.

Fast Break Basketball. I'm pretty sure HR is working on the nest version of this game, so you might want to wait awhile.

FBCB is great, not better than CM come on, but since you don't ask about soccer games FBCB is probably better for you and without reservation it's better than TDCB. I would probably go with OOTP6 just because it's the safer bet, I've always enjoyed Puresim but OOTP and Markus seem to have more time and resources at the moment for polishing an already good game. I'd follow the advice of others above, with the games reccomended you'll get a solid and stable product and a lot of fun wasted hours.

I said that based on how much I play the games. Yeah, I'd say CM is technically the "better" game because it hase most things the the majority of fans want (Media interation, player personalities, etc.), but I play FBCB more. It's the text sim I play the most, so I say it's the best. For whatever reasons, I like playing FBCB more than any other sim.

Strange though it might seem I don't have a problem at all with people preferring other games to CM, competition is great and helps keep pushing us along - there is still a lot of room for improvement in CM and I find a lot of inspiration from other sports sims.

Marc, as a fanboy of all things SI oriented I'll always be patient. I'm just hoping, note the word hoping, it comes out before I have to go to bed. I'm on dial up and I work nights. This gives me a LOT of time to wait for uncle Doubli. I'd love to take my laptop to work loaded with an extra bundle of joy and I don't even like hockey. I do, however love] the original EHM and I may yet grow to love football on ice. :)

Oh, and I'm now following my Lightning and loving it. They may beat you to the punch in making me a fan of the sport. Not that this would be a bad thing. :)

I've become a fan of St Louis, LeCav and Khabibulin. All of this mostly from the game but the mesh with reality doesn't hurt. :)
