What the hell is going on. Check out this thread http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?t=26045
and posts 28-30 are now missing. What the hell is going on.

A mod can tell us if the posts have just been deleted. Of course, if there's more to the story they might not be willing to tell us what's going on.

Somebody get Fox Mulder on the phone, quick...

Dola.

I made a quick post and dola and then deleted my original post. My second reply now shows up as the next consecutive one in the thread. BlingBling's posts are taking up space in the thread, but aren't visible--they count as a reply number. It is strange, but probably not something I'm going to spend more than the 3 minutes I already have thinking about...

He got banned for trolling.

His profile shows no mention of that...

I still don't get the overall point. BFD #3, #7 and #10 are missing. I can't read em so who cares where they are.

Am I supposed to giggle or something...

The insivible post effect is a mod that allows those who are put on 'invisi-ban' to post without knowing that they're banned. For all intents and purposes, they're invisible to the rest of the community...only they don't know it (the practice is also known as a 'hellban').

BlingBlingKilla didn't know that no one was seeing his posts until the threads popped up...so now that he created an alter-ego, that's been hellbanned, as well.

That's pretty funny. Who banned him?

When did it happen? He is not on the banned list.

I cannot find a reason that is happening to his post. Unless he is on some kind of "double secret probation" I have no idea what is going on with his account.

Perhaps someone is having fun with a bug in vBulletin? Just speculating...

What VPI said. :)

It's actually neither a bug, nor a mod. It's a feature of vb3. My sources tell me that SkyDog "banned" him the first time; Ryan took care of the alter ego today. I don't know the reasons for it.

He is the only member with that IP. I checked that. I can see nothing in the admin area that should prevent him from posting. I'm begining to agree with sabotai that it may be someone (not necessarily Bling) messing with the board.

Someone trying to screw with the new guy? Makes sense. I could probably guess who it is, too.

I don't think anybody's trying to screw with him....IIRC, he was originally placed on this list for legitimate reasons -- I just don't know what they are off-hand.

I don't know what the reasons where either, but I assume Skydog had a good reason.

He appears to be using an IP anonymizer

Well if he was on some ban list I would assume that GrantDawg would see that as he's modding now.

? You should be able to see who is banned as a mod from the control panel or whatnot. If he's banned he'd show up in the list. Not that I'm super knowledgable about vb but..

It's not a "ban" per se....it's a separate feature. I'm pretty sure it's available only to admins, and not mods.

I have a guess on who it is, but I don't want to say anything unless that person hasn't realized he has been punished in this way.

It's sounds like he got banned, but no one bothered to tell him. Then, because of some kind of glitch in payroll, he could still post. So they just fixed the glitch.

I saw this at the hotel in Denver, and didn't feel like addressing it in the limited time I had, so I'm addressing it now. (and this will be the last board thing I address today)

The insivible post effect is a mod that allows those who are put on 'invisi-ban' to post without knowing that they're banned. For all intents and purposes, they're invisible to the rest of the community...only they don't know it (the practice is also known as a 'hellban').Yep. This is not a bug. It is a feature. ;) I consider it to be a little bone thrown to mods by the vbulletin creators that allows us to have a little private fun of our own. Certain posters (like this guy) contribute absolutely *nothing* to threads but mindlessness. This guy was doing nothing whatsoever but trolling, and it is quite humorous to watch a guy troll in multiple threads and have *no one* even acknowledge his presence. They start getting more and more desparate for attention and start posting even more ridiculous stuff more often, still with no response. It is quite a funny process to watch, and I consider it a fair trade-off for the headaches of modding. :)

BlingBlingKilla didn't know that no one was seeing his posts until the threads popped upYeah, thanks a lot for ruining my fun guys. ;) The only person I could imagine being more humorous if given such a punishment would be Happy29.

Hmmmmm....I wonder if Happy29 is watching. {evil laugh}

With his screen name, I'd have banned him before he ever got a chance to post. Anyone called BlingBlingKillazz is just looking for trouble.
