The Summit Football League (originally created by Eric Roy) is now under new management (Eric stepped down due to time issues but is still playing in the league).
We have roughly 8 teams now open for people to sign. Things you should know.
1) We are in Week 2 of the regular season.
2) This league did a full redraft of all players to start, so the rosters aren't the same as in the NFL, although the players are real. Be sure to look at the rosters page before committing to a team.
3) We sim 1 game per week, with two stage files asked for per week (1 for the game, 1 "midweek" used to sign new players)
Please feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions. The site is at:
http://www.summitfootball.net. The listing of available teams is current as of 5/31.
In Harmony,
Shawn (aka Steelerdaddy)

Can you play in two leagues at the same time? how does it affect the files in your FOF2004 folder?
let me know what it would take and I might be interested in taking over a team. You also have renamed/moved teams, is it possible to have the names/nicknames changed if I take over one?

Hello,
I'm Jerone Mitchell, one of the SFL co-GMs.
The game keeps one city/nickname file at a time. As you can tell, though, we'll gladly change the nicknames at your discretion.
We've just completed our "Spring Cleaning" at SFL, post change in management. Check out our site at http://www.summitfootball.net . The following teams are available as of this posting:
New England Patriots
New Jersey Jets
Washington Redskins
Denver Broncos
Kansas City Chiefs
San Francisco 49'ers
St. Louis Rams
Cincinatti Bengals
Pittsburgh Steelers
Los Angeles Diablos
Atlanta Falcons
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
As you can see, a number of teams are available, one of which will assuredly meet YOUR needs. :D Send e-mail to
[email protected] if you are interested!

Hi,
I'd like to take the Steelers in the SFL if they are still open. I didn't see a link on the site to send email so I guess this is the way I'm asking for the team. Please contact me at
[email protected] to let me know if I can have the Steelers.
Thanks,
Russ Ward

I've sent you a personal e-mail and updated my post. This is why one should not advertise his league at 3-something in the morning. :)

Of the above list, the Bengals and the Patriots have been claimed.
E-mail via the address in the quote if you're interested in a team. PLENTY of quality teams in that list (including one that's currently 3-0 if my memory serves.) We sim Week 4 tomorrow (Thursday 6/10) so let us know!

What's the projected "real life" time it's going to take to complete a season?

We are currently simming one game per week; many of our players play multiple sim/online games and we don't want to overload people to the point of dropping out. We do two files a week, a Midweek file (for roster moves and the like) and the Game File.
We've discussed going to two sims a week after the Week 6 Trade Deadline, but nothing has been cast in stone yet. Under current timeframe, the Super Bowl would take place the first full week of October. If we go to an accelerated timeframe (2 games a week), it would take place the end of August.
Does that answer your question?
