View Full Version : FOF Possible Stats Addition

We currently see stats for total G played and total GS. I if there is any interest in seeing a stat showing how many games were missed due to injury. The only way to really do this is to have a stat showing how many total games a player was eligible to play in from the point they are introduced into the game. So we could then add other stats such as games spent on the inactive list (for reasons other than being injured), games missed because of IR, and/or games missed because they were unsigned free agents.
Does anybody else see any use for having this? I know some of this has been mentioned before, but maybe I'm just out there in left field.

I think a games missed to injury stat would be extremely useful. The catch is programming it in I would think. Do you just count games when the player is listed as Out? As Out and Doubtful?

Good question.

I think Dutch may have hit it.. the only real way to calculate this would be based on number of games on the inactive roster... the problem there is if they are on the inactive roster due to lack of talent, etc.... probably would want to exclude the preseason too...

How do you know if they missed the game due to injury, or just because they weren't good enough? For example, I'll sit a guy who is Probable with a knee injury, but play a guy who is Probable with a broken nose. If a "Probable" guy is on the bench, is it because the starter got healthy and so I re-benched him, or is it his injury?
Games played in vs. games eligible to play in might be interesting.

The game should have an injury history similar to what CM does.
Just click a tab or box or whatever have the player's injury history.
For example,
Broken Thumb (suffered in Game vs. Detroit on 9/14/03) Missed 3 games
Concussion (suffered in Game vs. Chicago on 10/14/04) Missed 0 games
Something along those lines...

One problem with the inactive roster: I carry 3 RBs and 2 Cs. When one of those guys is out, I need to keep that many players at that position on the active roster, so I just keep them active, but take them out of the depth chart. I'm not going to bother having 4 RBs or (dear god) 3 Cs.
