Some highlights from http://www.easports.com/games/ncaa2005/prodinterview.jsp :
The biggest thing we added for 2005 is program integrity. You now have to keep tabs on your players off the field as they may have academic issues or team rule violations. You can choose to discipline these players by sitting them for a quarter or suspending them for a game (or the entire season). If you fail to maintain your program, the penalties can be quite severe -- from losing scholarships and television exposure, to the inability to play in bowls or for championships, to even the death penalty.
We also added transfers to the mix this year. Players who feel that they don't have a chance to get on the field may ask to transfer to another school. Conversely, you can have players wanting to transfer to your school if you lack depth at certain positions.
Recruiting has also been totally re-worked for 2005. We added a pipeline feature to allow you to build on your recruiting success out of a certain state or region. We also added the ability to recruit a high school athlete that excels in a variety of positions. You can then switch him to a position that best suits your team and he will progress accordingly at this position. To top it all off, we added detailed scouting (where you can unlock a prospect's attributes without offering him a scholarship), offensive/defensive coaching strategies (which affects play-calling, simulation, and recruiting), 70-man roster, and <B>accurate conference schedule rotations</B>.
We've added a lot of cool things to online this year, so you'll have stuff online that you can only get online. One of the things that we really wanted to prevent this year was cheating. We've added a new scouting report that allows you to check any player's tendencies. You can look at their favorite playbook and formation, as well as look at <B>how much they no-huddle, call hot routes, and audible</B>.

Oh the accurate schedule rotation makes me a very happy man. The rest of the new features aren't really interesting me that much, but that alone is worth 50 bucks. :D

Yes, but if they don't have the conference realignments after the 1st year, it will all be for naught. :(

:D This makes me think of my brother who donates plasma every chance he gets. Only his money is going towards his Spring Break next year...

I still wish ea sports would freaking throw in a name randomizer so i could export players from my first 3 season not named qb #5.. i am gonna have to wait this year for someone else to name the players.. 70+ per team for 120 teams is alot of naming.. well maybe not.. i still might do it if i'm laid off still and post it for you guys if i can find a reliable source of college football roster info

Agreed. I hate that. Last time around I just simmed through the first 3 or 4 seasons to get rid of all those guys. It wasn't too bad, considering I love the recruiting, but it was an exercise...

July 13th appears to be the date floating around. I think several of these features sound great. I particularly like the pipeline feature :) Hopefully, it isn't so overpowering that it makes the game too easy for the user. However, it could work to make recruiting easier for the CPU and harder for us, which would be good.

Check out http://www.ps2rosters.com. The guy there does a pretty good job of getting a set of rosters done quickly, and you can mail him your memory card to get a copy of the rosters. I've done it for the last two years and its worked out pretty good.

He has also been known to steal other people's work.

Keep tabs of your players *off the field*?
Well, so much for Marcus Vick...

I don't know how well substantiated that claim is, although I've heard it before. He stole Blacklover's rosters I think is the claim? I don't really remember the specifics too well, but it seemed like a he said-she said sort of deal where who knows what the truth is. I'm not saying the story isn't true. Just saying I'm not sure that it is true either.
FWIW, I've used PS2Rosters for NCAA for 2 years running and had no problem with them. I think this year I will just sim 4 years into the future and be done with it. It will give me a chance to beat some program into the ground (by resimming each game until they lose) and then take it over for a nice challenge. :)

For what it's worth, PSM gave NCAA 2005 a perfect 10 and made it game of the month. :)

He did the same with some more recent rosters for I forget which game, I think it was March Madness. The guy who created made some changes to make sure no one else would be able to claim them as their own, DTLinder came out with his "own" version the next day with the same changes.
I don't really care I just want rosters, but it is kind of shitty considering the number of hours it takes to edit the names.

Huh. You'd think DTLindner would have learned the first time. Ah well. I'm just going to sim ahead 4 years this time. I don't care about the real rosters all that much anymore.

NCAA Utopia is doing a "Roster Project" in Excel so that people can fill in their rosters without going all over the internet. http://www.utopiafootball.com (http://www.utopiafootball.com/)/

I've had no problems with DT Linder's rosters either. This time however, I have an Action Replay.. no need to send memory card off!! :)
I could care less who does them, as long as I have some real Missouri Tiger names.
