OK....Im gonna give the game a chance. I'll do the 6th month trial and see how that goes....Hopefully, I will enjoy it enough to buy the thing.

Im starting out low....The St. Mike's Majors, of the OHL.....My goal is obviously to coach the Leafs one day, but also be put in charge of Canada's national teams for the olympics, the world cup, and the world juniors.....

Tim Brent is our captain and best player.....he was a 2nd round choice for Anaheim in the 2002 NHL entry draft

I made 1 trade right away.....We traded Connor Cameron and Ryan Rorabeck to the Guelph Storm for Ryan Kitchen....

Our coaching staff is ok...
Head Coach Dave Cameron is solid....Im looking around to see if I can find anyone better, but i'm not looking to fire Cameron....
Bob Jones and Dean Crowder are the assistants....neither work well with young players, so I will be activley looking for replacements....

If you have any question's about the CHL, the OHL, the rules, the playoffs, the MEM cup, anything, feel free to ask, as im sure not many of you are very familar with Canadian junior hockey.....

The pre-season could not have gone any worse.....We have lost Tim Brent to the 1st 14 games of the season....not to injury....but to suspension

In our 2nd exhibition game, Tim speared Kitchener Rangers star, and LA Kings 3rd round pick Petr Kanko....Brent recieved a 5 minute major, and a game misconduct.....14 games....that is really harsh...and it is really gonna hurt us

Here are the results of our exhibition season
Date Opposition Venue Competition Result Attendance Scorers
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8.22.03 Sudbury H Exhibition 5-1 1800 Brent, Clutterbuck, Vitarelli
8.24.03 Kitchener H Exhibition 3-4 1800 Rand, Haskins
8.27.03 Sarnia H Exhibition 2-2 1800 Van Ballegooie, Brent
9.1.03 Ottawa H Exhibition 3-6 1800 Boyce, Vanderveeken 2
9.4.03 Barrie H Exhibition 2-0 1800 Wilson

Tim Brent lead us in scoring with 3 goals, and 3 assists....

Right after our pre-season ended, I struck a deal with the Barrie Colts...We had been negoitiating for at least a week...
We send Darryl Boyce, a 19 year old winger, who is just 5'11, 2005 3rd, 2006 3rd, and a 2007 5th to Barrie
We get Cory Stillman back....Cory is 20, in his final year of major junior....drafted by the Isles in the 4th round of the 2001 entry draft.....He should have a great year....Im going for the Mem Cup

A great 1st game for the majors.....A penalty filled game shows we play tough, in your face hockey, and can excell at it.....

A few notes on the game so far....Tim Brent, as you can see isnt serving his 14 game suspension....Why, I dont know......maybe a bug.....
And the HTML output for boxscores is murder when trying to post.....The old EHM exported boxscores and everything else to Notepad which makes posting everything so easy....Please export boxscores to notepad SI.....PLEASE

Sept 20, 2003 15 year old Cal Clutterbuck gets his 1st OHL goal in the first period against Oshawa…..This game is also our home opener…..We lost 2 nights earlier to Brampton in OT on a Kamil Kreps goal……Ryan Kitchen also gets his 1st St. Mikes goal, as Michael Ouzas records a 2-0 shutout win

I am extremely happy with this teams goaltending….
Michael Ouzas is the starter, he’s 18 with 2 years of eligibility left….my scouts feel he is capable of a .940sp…..That will win some games…..He is a positional goalie in the mold of Ed Belfour…..He reads the play well, and rarely relies on spectacular reflexes to stop the puck….Ouzas biggest asset is his determination……He hates to lose

Justin Peters is the backup….He is well polished with his skill set, but hasn’t developed mentally as of yet…..He is only 17, and was St. Mike’s 3rd round choice in 2002’s OHL draft…. Peters has better skills then Ouzas right now, and will receive his share of games….He didn’t allow a goal in the preseason

Sept 24 Wojtek Wolski wins the OHL player of the week with 6 points in 2 games…..

Sept 26 Problems…..Ryan Kitchen was late for practice…I gave him a warning, and he accepted it….not the best way to make a first impression

Justin Peters makes his 1st start of the year against Mississauga…He doesn’t play badly, but we weren’t good enough….The Ice Dogs win 4-2….

Here is a look at how things stand after September

It’s October….The NHL is set to get going, but preliminary rankings are out of the best kids in the world….here are the results

ISS Preliminary Rankings for 2004 entry draft
1. Alexander Ovechkin, Moskow Dynamo, Rus
2. Yevgeni Malkin, Magnitogorsk, Rus
3. Robbie Schremp, London Knights, Can
50. Tyler Haskins, St. Mike’s, Can
83. Scott Lehman, St. Mike’s, Can
126. Jami Vanderveekan, St. Mike’s, Can

ISS CHL Import Draft Rankings
1. Martin Kudrna, HC Pardubice Jrs, Cze
2. Jukka Viitanen, Naantali Jrs, Fin
3. Jiri Hruska, HC SLavia Praha Jrs, Cze

ISS OHL Priority Selection 2004 Rankings
1. Corey Joseph, Mississauga Rebels
2. Nathan Parent, Streetsville
3. Joe Funk, Thorold

Oct 2….The London Knights and #3 NHL prospect Robbie Schremp make a visit to Toronto, and Im hoping to get Tim Brent going…..He seems to have taken a back seat to Cory Stillman, when I was hoping for a 1-2 punch ….Schremp missed a penalty shot late in the 1st….Althoug that’s all he missed…2 goals, and 2 assists were enough for Schremp to beat us 4-2….

Oct 4 A great day for 15 year old Cal Clutterbuck and Evgeny Kadatskiy…Both get 3 points in a 4-2 win over Belleville…..Still only 2 goals from Tim Brent this year….

Oct 6 Cory Stillman is praised in the paper today….I ofcourse built up the praise, cuz lets face it….He’s really good….and will you look at that….Cory thanked me for my kind words….so precious…..

The London Knights have started the season on fire….5-0 until they met the Plymouth Whalers…..Plymouth went off on them…beating them 8-1…..one night later….the Erie Otters beat London 9-1…..London actually opened there season with 6-0, and 10-3 wins over Barrie….If you want to watch entertaining hockey, tune in for London Knights games

3 games in 3 days….that was what we had to do from the 9th to the 11th….and even though our defense wasn’t very good, I’m very pleased with the results….We beat Brampton 5-4 in OT, tie Mississauga 2-2, and edge Peterbourough 6-5…..13 goals in 3 games, but only 2 points for Brent…..

Oct 19th….not too much NHL info has shown up on the news….so I took a look at the waivers and notice some big things
- Curtis Joseph was taken by Pittsburgh in the waiver draft……I don’t know where to start on whats wrong with this
- Detroit also lost Darren McCarty to Carolina in the waiver draft
- Chris Chelios signed with Calgary…only this Chris Chelios is 20, and was playing with western Michigan
- Adrian Aucoin goes to Philly for 2 minor leaguers and LA’s 2nd round pick in the 2004 draft

Ok that’s not too much, but some of it should still be in the news me thinks….

Oct 24…Our best scoring game of the year….We beat the Windsor Spitfires 7-2….Tim Brent may have finally broken out with a goal and 3 assists….This is good as I was thinking of trading him….

Just as Brent gets going…he gets injured….He’ll miss 2 weeks with a injured knee

Oct 29th….Cory Stillman wins the OHL player of the week….and they called him a dangerous playmaker….

The media is questioning wether we are the real deal…..those bastards….the Stillman trade should have confirmed that….I responded by saying we title contenders….We want to play for the Mem Cup….Oh, and now im popular amongst the fans…hehe

End of October....here's where we stand

Nov 1…November starts off very well….we beat the Ice Dogs 7-1….Tim Brent returned to the lineup, getting a assist…Evgeny Kadatskiy, our only foreign born player, gets a hattrick…..

Brent re-injured himself, and will miss another 3 weeks…..DOH…..

Nov 6……Sarnia, tops in the western conference, hand us our jock straps in a 5-2 defeat…..No time to hang our heads though, as the Saginaw Spirit are waiting for the Majors…..Justin Peters carried us to a 3-0 win, his 1st shutout of the season

Take a look at these total opposites
The Kingston Frontenacs lead the OHL with a 14-2-1 record
The Belleville Bulls have yet to win a game….0-14-2…..
If Belleville manages to win a game…Ill let you know….

Nov 8th….speaking of Belleville, we play them today…..can’t be the 1st team to lose to them…just can’t….A penalty filled affair took place….but 4 goals in the 2nd catapulted us to a easy 5-1 win…..

Nov 12th…..Justin Peters wins the OHL player of the week award….Im gonna have to get him in some more games…..

Nov 13th….Justin Peters wins his 5th game of the year….a 3-1 decision over Sudbury, which puts us in 2nd place…2 points behind Kingston……the showdown with the Frontenacs goes in a week…..

Nov 14th-15th…..We lose to Ottawa, mainly because we spent the whole game taking stupid penalties, and everytime we said anything to the refs…..an unsportsmanlike penalty…..Im not impressed with him….Justin Peters was back in net the next night, and Cory Stillman brought his A-game, scoring twice, and adding a helper in a 3-0 win over Mississauga….Peter’s is winning the starting job over…..

Michael Ouzas 13games, 8-5, 2.63gaa, .913sp, 2 so
Justin Peters, 9 games, 6-2-2, 1.54gaa, .947sp, 2so

Apparantly, the Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in Peters…..which is good, except he isn’t draft eligible tell the 2004 draft, which is at the end of the season

Nov 20th….up next….Kingston(16-3-1-1) vs. St. Mike’s(14-6-1-1)

Kingston is lead by Anthony Stewart….25th pick in the 2003 NHL draft by Florida, and figures to be a solid player at the pro level…He has 30 points, in 21 games this year….They also have Eric Himelfarb….brother of a guy I used to play hockey with…hehe….St. Louis 5th round pick, Chris Beckford-Tseu, mans the pipes for the Frontenacs

Justin Peters hurt himself in practice, so he wont play today, but Tim Brent will….he’s at 90%, and that’s good enough for me…..

What a great game...well, not if your a Kingston fan...but let's face it...how many Kingston Frontenac supporters really make it on to the board and read my crap.....I think im pretty safe.....anyway...The turning point with 2 minutes remaining in the 2nd....We led 4-2, when Logan Hunter, playing his 4th game of the season, was awarded a penalty shot....Hunter went to the back hand, and was stoned by Ouzas....This was a statement game...cant wait to visit Kingston to prove it wasnt a fluke

Nov 21st…The day after…couldn’t celebrate too much, as we had a bus to catch for a game in Sudbury…..We played lethargic, but were able to squeek out a 3-2 win….Im officially making Justin Peters my starter, and pushing for him to make Canada’s world junior roster…..Now I know the odds of a 17 year old starting in net is low…but he is playing like the best goalie in the CHL…

Nov 22nd….our 3rd game in 3 days saw Michael Ouzas back in net….our opponents….the wretched Belleville Bulls….Our fatigue showed….as a 6-3 lead was shortened to 6-5 after a last ditch flurry by the Bulls fell just short…We were lucky to win this one

BTW, Belleville won there 1st game of the year the night before, a 5-3 win over Eric Lindros’ Oshawa Generals

Nov 26th….Tim Brent left todays game in the 2nd….Im still waiting to see whats wrong…we won however, 5-2 over Owen Sound…Another Justin Peters win…..

Time for some NHL news…..
• Martin Brodeur is being criticized for his play, even though he’s 9-3….though his sp is only .864
• Keith Tkachuk is expected to miss about 7 months after fracturing his skull in a 4-3 win over Detroit….no penalty or suspension was given, so it must have been a freak play
• Adam Graves returned to his old home in Edmonton as a assistant coach…
• Islanders lead the east with 29 points, Anaheim tops the west with 31 points
• Toronto is 9-7-4 for 22 points, 8th in the east
• Kovalchuk leads in scoring….12-16-28 in 23 games……
• I just checked the Hall of Fame section, and DOUG GILMOUR IS IN IT…..My favourite player of all-time…1414 points…..He is joined by Phil Housley, Mike Vernon, and Mike Richter

Nov 27th….I just got the bad news…..Tim Brent suffered a sprained MCL, and will miss at least a month…..He was playing well, and had 18 points, in 18 games…

The second of a home and home with Owen Sound ended well….4-2…and we know lead Kingston by 6 points for 1st….I just don’t want to make the mem cup now….I WANT TO HOST IT……

Nov 29th…We’ve had trouble with the Ottawa 67’s all season, and today was no different….for the 3rd straight game, we lose to Ottawa…this time 6-3…..

Dec 1st….2 new additions to the Majors today…..both previously unsigned prospects….
• Andrew Cogliano, a 16 year old forward, formerly of the St. Michaels Buzzers of the OPJAHL joins the club…I like him…he’s gonna be a player….
• Jack Skille, a 16 year old winger, formerly of the US National Development team…..where he had 16 points in 22 games so far…He is a very strong kid, who looks more like a 19 year old then a 16 year old…..

Dec 5th…We lose 2-1 to Erie….but Andrew Colgiano gets his 1st OHL point….2 nights later, Jack Skille registers his 1st point, in a 6-1 win against Sudbury…..I think Skille has a chance to be a 1st round pick in a few years……

Dec 10th….The new additions are playing well….Colgiano gets a goal and a assist….while Skille gets a goal and 2 assists in a 5-2 win in Owen Sound

About 2 weeks tell the Canadian Junior team gets going….Im looking forward to this, and hope some St. Mike’s flavour will be added…..

Just checked Sidney Crosby with Rimouski…..and it’s not good….Sidney has 8 goals, 15 assists, and just 23 points in 35 games….His ratings are top notch….I hope he is just slumping…..

Dec 13th….We are booed out of the building…loosing 7-4 to Windsor…Cory Stillman seems to be goin through a cold streak….we need Tim Brent back….they were clicking…..

Dec 18th…..a few days off did wonders, as Michael Ouzas, in after Peters played poorly last game….recorded his 3rd shutout of the season….We beat the Greyhounds 4-0….. Where theres good new though, theres bad news…..Andrew Colgiano, with 5 points in his first 6 games, will miss 2 months with a dislocated shoulder……

The next night, Jack Skille, and Cory Stillman each get 2 points in a 2-1 OT win over Oshawa…..our 3rd game in 3 nights is at home to Brampton, who have the top offense in the league…..Our fatigue showed…being outshot 40-30, but managed a 2-2 tie….Our next game isn’t until new years eve……11 days off….

OK, now that the world juniors are over, back to business….Mid-season rankings came out, and there were a few changes…here they are

ISS Mid-season rankings for the NHL entry draft
#1 Yevgeni Malkin (2)
#2 Robbie Schremp (3)
#3 Alexander Ovechkin (1)
#53 Tyler Haskins (50)
#90 Scott Lehman (83)
#139 Jamie Vanderveekan (126)
#200 Michael Ouzas (nr)

Very interesting…seeing Ovechkin not ranked 1st…..and even Schremp has passed him…Ovechkin is a -19 with Moskow Dynamo, but is scoring at a respectable pace…..

ISS Mid-season rankings for the CHL import draft
#1 Martin Kudrna (1)
#2 Jukka Viitanen (2)
#3 Jiri Hruska (3)

Nothings changed

ISS Mid-season rankings OHL Priority selection draft
#1 Corey Lacroix (4)
#2 Corey Joseph (1)
#3 Joe Funk (3)

Jan 3rd…Scott Lehman, or you St. Mike’s majors has been selected to play with Team Cherry in the top prospects game in 2 weeks…..Way to go kid….Lehman has 20 points in 35 games this year

Jan 11th…..A news report just said the Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to pick Robbie Schremp in the NHL entry draft…..Hmm…lets evaluate this, shall we….Toronto leads the eastern conference with 54 points, and even with a huge collapse, wont be picking in the top 5….Robbie Schremp is rated #2 on the prospect list…..either they know something we don’t know….or…….well, I got nothing….I dunno….

Sense im talking about the NHL, lets check in with them
• Boston is 6-36-3, for 15 points….hell….Pittsburgh wasn’t this bad in real life….and the Bruins are supposed to be good….
• Anson Carter, who hasn’t produced anything (except a gold medal winner for team Canada at the 03 worlds) sense leaving Edmonton, is back in Edmonton…Going to LA, 21 year old Doug Lynch, and a 3rd round pick
• In a deal that makes no sense, Toronto sends Pierre Hedin, and the rights to John Mitchell, to last place Boston for journeyman defenseman Rich Brennan, and a 4th round pick….I thought the Leafs already had like 30 defensemen….
• Marcus Naslund leads the league in scoring with 53 points in 44 games

OK…all the business has been dealt with…..my Majors played about 8 or 9 games sense I mentioned them….and we are still in 1st……and playing well….Tim Brent is back….playing well with Skille, and Stillman on t he 1st line….

Jan 14th….Our rematch in Kingston goes today…Ouzas who is winning his job back gets the start……Kingston wins 4-2….they lead 3-0, and we couldn’t get back in it….but we hold onto 1st place

Jan 16th….Our final 2 games before the top prospects game, and a little break….I moved Tim Brent back to his natural position of center, hoping he can jumpstart the 2nd line, which has been slumping…..It doesn’t really work today, as we lose 4-3 in OT….

the next night, in home to Saginaw, we look better then we have in a while…we played with spirt, energy…..we win 5-2…..now its 5 days off…..rest boys, we’ll need it for our drive for the Mem Cup….

Up next…Team Cherry, meets Team Orr, in the Top Prospects game

So many drafts...

Could you give an ignorant American a description of the CHL import draft & OHL Priority selection draft? Is the CHL draft after the NHL draft & designed to get players that weren't selected in that?

So players are only allowed in the Canadian Juniors until they're 19/20 years old? Where do players that aren't good enough for the NHL go when they hit 21?

Interesting dynasty, I'm reading.

Interesting dynasty, I'm reading.

Dont feel stupid.....it's actually very complicated, and I dont even understand all the ins and outs of the Canadian Hockey League....

The CHL import draft is held each year after the NHL draft.....Each team in the CHL gets 2 choices.....so there are 2 rounds....Players eligible are euporean's currently playing or living overseas.....some have already been drafted by the NHL, some havent.....The key is too pick players who will play for you, because you are only drafting there rights......

The OHL priority draft selection is the selection of players in the OHL's region who will become eligible to play junior hockey next season....I think the age is 15, but 14 year olds can play for there hometown teams....though im not 100% sure on this......There are 15 rounds, and its the main way to acquire players.....

The NHL draft has no bearing on either of these drafts....The NHL draft is a world draft.....and it only gives teams making the selection the rights to the player....A player can be drafted 1st in the OHL Priority draft, and 1st in the NHL draft 2 years later when there old enough(Joe Thornton)

20 year olds are allowed to play, but are reffered to as overage players, and each team is only allowed 3 (i think)....after that, if there not good enough to play in the NHL, there are many leagues around the world, wether its the AHL, or a russian league.....Many players who finish in junior hockey leave hockey for good, as they dont have the skill to continue....It's the end of the road....

Im not 100% sure on any of this, but I know im close....hopefully it helps....

Jan 22nd…back to hockey…..Scott Lehman did a nice job at the top prospects game, and hopefully, he improved his standing…..He looks like a solid 2nd round pick, but might be a candidate to drop……He got a assist tonight in a 5-2 win over the Ice Dogs….

In the 2nd leg of our home and home with Mississauga….the Ice Dogs got some revenge…holding us to a 3-1 loss…..Remember the the Ice Dogs were a joke, and everygame was like a offensive drill……good times……

Jan 24th…..We have clinched….both St. Mikes and Kingston have clinched playoff spots….of course we are 44 points higher then 9th….but we still clinched…..HOORAYYY…..

The next night, we lose to Sault Ste.Marie, 5-2, and also get leapfrogged by Brampton, who have been onfire….we fall to 3rd in the conferece….it’s gonna be quite a race between St. Mike’s, Brampton, and Kingston for top spot…..

We hired a new assistant coach, mainly, cuz he specializes in goalies….Jan Peter Aleksandrov…He’s Ukrainian, and only speaks Russian…..Um, I hope that’s not a problem…..BTW, we beat 3-1 to take 1st place back…..

Feb 1st…We host Kitchener and take them too school…..4-1 win….

Feb 5th….Huge game with Brampton……speaking of Brampton…Wokjet Wolski is having a season that could get him into the top 3 of the NHL draft…39 goals, 35 assists in 50 games…..Crushing all competition….Back to the action…this was a hell of a game…..Wolski gave the Battalion a early lead….which held up for a long time….43 minutes to be exact….when Joe Rand scored his 9th of the year to tie it for St. Mikes…Ot decided nothing, and the game finished in a hard faught 1-1 draw…..

Andrew Colgiano is healthy again…Ill try to get him back in the lineup…..

The NHL all-star game was just played….and guess what….NO LEAFS…..WTF…..if you read my other leaf dynasty, you wont be surprised……This is crap…..I hate EHM….EHM sucks….3 Sens….0 Leafs….Sundin has been hurt…but 36 points, in 33 games should have been there…….Matt Stajan has 23 points in 26 games….IM angry….BASTARDS

Decision time…..I need to buy the game to continue….or my dynasty will end without any resolution……hmm……Despite all the problems with the game….stuff that really bugs me…..I enjoyed it a lot so far….I loved playing junior hockey….I love the fact that I could pick Canada’s Olympic team, and Coach them too……So, I have decided to pay up….the dynasty will continue

Feb 12th….We beat St. Mike’s 6-4, but Tim Brent and Cory Stillman are slumping….without them, we have no chance at a mem cup….Our defense has been suspect lately…..I think I need to make some lineup changes……Another showdown with Brampton the next night…..a real test……A 4-1 loss says a lot….

Feb 14th…..a 1-1 tie with Barrie…..better defense…still no offense from the big guys

Feb 20th….hopefully 6 days off will do the trick…..This team is not playing upto expectations…….3 powerplay goals, in 3 minutes in the 2nd had this one looking like a blowout…..but, Mississauga scores 3 times in 3 minutes in the 3rd…a Scott Lehman empty netter sealed a 7-5 win….oh, the wild and crazy OHL…..

The next night in Sarnia….we are up 4-1 before the 5 minute mark of the 1st……Tim Brent gets a hat-trick to break out of his slump…Cory Stillman gets 2 helpers…..Majors win 8-3…..

Feb 25th…Stillman’s 30th is a huge goal…shorthanded, and the winner late in the 3rd…..2-1 over Barrie…..

Under 10 games left…..and we lead Brampton by 2 points, and Kingston by 5…..Finishing 1st basically mean you get to play Oshawa in the 1st round…..they have just 40 points….20 less then 7th place Mississauga…..

QMJHL is lead in scoring by Sidney Crosby…..46 points, in 65 games….This league is supposed to be hight scoring….like 5-4 average every game……there should be a lot of century scorers…..I hope this is fixed SOON!!!!

Feb 28th….Why do I want Oshawa in the 1st round…the just killed me 5-1…..damn…..

Another look at the NHL….2 weeks before the trade deadline….
• Edmonton trades Igor Ulanov to Columbus for Brian Holzinger……….ill give you a minute to recover from that one…………………………………………..
• …………………………………………………………………………………….
• ……………………………………………………………………………………..
• ok…..The “Hair” deal…..Mike Ricci to Calgary, Red Head, Mike Commodore to SJ…
• Islanders, and Avs lead their respective divisions

A big bounce back win in our 1st game of March….5-1 over western conference last place Owen Sound, who would be in the playoffs if they were in the east…….5 games left….Brampton has tied me

March 6th…..We have fallen to 3rd…so our game against Peterbourough is extremely important….and Justin Peters came through…a 4-0 win…and 1st place again….Ouzas backstops us to a 4-2 win over Ottawa the next night, but we are still tied with Brampton……

March 11th….our 3rd last game is against Mississauga for the 8th time……and we didn’t show up…shutout 4-0 hurts, and Brampton moves a point ahead of us…..That loss made our next game with Peterborough a must win…..and we played like it….a 4-0 shutout for Justin Peters……..Brampton also won, so with 1 game remaining…..Brampton leads us by 1 point….Kingston cant catch either of us…..

March 13th….St. Mikes hosts Barrie….Brampton takes on Kingston…..We lose to Barrie 2-1….Brampton wins 4-2…so we had no chance……

NHL Trade Deadline News, then the Final OHL Standings
• Martin St. Louis is out for 4 months with a concussion…
• 4 deadline deals were made….only 1 is worth mentioning…..Rob Niedermayer to Colorado for Marek Svatos…..

#3 Toronto St. Michael’s Majors vs. #6 Ottawa 67’s

In 5 games head to head, Ottawa holds a 3-2 lead during the season….They have outscored us 19-15….The 67’s are led by Corey Locke, who was a 4th round pick of the Habs….Locke had 87 points this year…Kyle Wharton contributed 39 points from the point, and just like me, they split there goaltending duties up….Danny Battochio won 17 games, while Lucas Mensator, Vancover Canuck property, won 19…..

Game 1: Justin Peters will start for us….Mensator goes for the 67’s……Both goalies stand tall in the 1st…..Ottawa’s Bryan Bickell gets a pp goal to open the scoring…..The 67’s pp strikes again…This time Corey Locke gets the glory……2-0 after 2…..We come out hard, but can’t get anything early…..Lehman breaks the goose egg with 1 minute remaining…..We pull our goalie…but cant tie it…Final: 2-1 Ott

Game 2: Interesting…Brian Kilrea, coach of the 67’s has chosen to start Battochio instead of game 1 hero, Mensator….Peters is still between the pipes for us……Jack Skille get’s his 1st OHL playoff goal…1-0 after 1…..Thomas Waugh makes it 2-0 after 2…..Peters looking very solid…..Rodney Bowman gives Ottawa a chance…..Paul Ranger ties it…this ones going down to the wire……OT….Ottawa’s Bryan Bickell takes a dumb penalty at the end of regulation….so we get a pp….They kill it….Stillman gets a hooking penalty, and the ref gives him a 10 minute misconduct for arguing…..BS….We kill the penalty, but Stillman is still out….Scott Lehman goes off for hooking….BULAKWA grabs the puck…..HE’S IN ALL ALONE….QUICK WRIST SHOT….PETERS THE SAVE….HE COVERS UP..…..we kill it….Stillman returns just intime to go on the pp….Kyle Warton gets a tripping penalty…..Something happened to Scott Lehman, and it looks serious….he’s carried off the ice in a strecher1st OT ends…..its a marathon…..Justin Peters kept us in this game, making some great saves……BREAKAWAY…….Stillman gets a slashing penalty……but Corey Locke negates it sith another slashing penalty……BULAKWA…..ALONE AGAIN…….GOES TO THE BACKHAND…..GLOVE SAVE BY PETERS…….still tied…10 minutes left in the 2nd ot……Waugh…..looking….infront to Rand….SNAPSHOT…..SCORES!!!!...ST. MIKES WINS!!!!!...JOE RAND is the HERO….Final: 3-2 St. Mike’s in 2OT

Game 3: Scott Lehman is out for today’s game…Ted Perry takes his spot…..Justin Peter’s is still tired, so Ouzas will start…..Mensator is back in net for Ottawa…..Waugh and Haskins have the Majors up 2-0 after 1…..Mathew Albaini gets the home crowd on there feet with a great goal……Gabriel Savard ties it……Evgeny Kadatskiy breaks out of a slump, giving us the lead…3-2 after 2…..Albaini is becoming a hero….he ties it again……Locke….circling behind the St. Mikes net…..pass…ONETIMER….SCORES!!!!!.....GABRIEL SAVARD….3 mins left….the crowd is going crazy….Final: 4-3 Ott

Game 4: Mensator takes on Justin Peters…..Mat Albaini gets his 3rd…1-0 after 1….No Scoring in the 2nd…..1-0 after 2…..Kadatskiy ties it with 10 minutes left…HUGE GOAL……OT….Again….Pierre Mitsou is in the box…so we start on the PP…..Jake Skille gets a boarding penalty just as Mitsou is stepping out of the box……..Scott Lehman goes off for hooking, and we are 2 men down……We kill them both, without giving up any scoring chances…..With 13 seconds left in the period…..Savard Hits RODRIGUEZ….He’s ALL ALONE….HE SHOOTS…HE SCORES!!!!!.....OTTAWA WINS!!!!!...Final: 2-1 Ott in OT

We are down 3-1…this is not good

Game 5: Lehman is back in…….no changes other then that…..No scoring in the 1st…..Colin Power gets the only goal of the 2nd…..Peters keeps shutting the door….Power clinches it with a empty net goal….Final: 2-0 St. Mike’s

Game 6: Tim Brent gets his 1st point of the series......its a goal…..1-0 after 1…..Sal Peralta makes it 2-0 on a sh goal….Brodie Beard gets Ottawa on the scoreboard late in the 2nd….2-1 after 2…..Pierre Mitsou ties it…..Gut check time…..McIver…fakes the shot….now he lets it goal….SCORES!!!!....TIPPED BY TIM BRENT….ST. MIKE’s LEADS…3-2…9 minutes left……Final: 3-2 St. Mike’s

Game 7: No Scoring in the first….very cautious play……Cory Vitarelli breaks the goose egg……1-0 after 2…..we could win this thing….Ottawa is all over us…Peters is a wall….Peters wins it for us….Final: 1-0 St. Mike’s

St. Michael’s WINS SERIES 4-3….
Brampton, Mississauga, Barrie, Kitchener, Guelph, Windsor and London are all still alive….

#3 Toronto St. Michael’s Majors vs. #1 Brampton Battalion

In 6 games this season, we are 1-2-2 against the Battalion…..Brampton swept Oshawa in the 1st round…..OHL leading scorer, and probable player of the year Wojtek Wolski, teams with Florida Panther 2nd round pick, Kamil Kreps, and Tampa Bay 2nd round pick Adam Henrich to form the best threesome in junior hockey…..There defense does not contribute much offensively, but there big…3 guys over 6’5…..Kevin Couture mans the pipes, and though he isn’t a standout, he gets the job done…..Barrie wins by outscoring there opponents…It should be interesting to see how they do as we are the best defensive team in the OHL…..

Game 1: No scoring in the 1st…..Joe Rand opens the scoring….half way through the period…Wolski is awarded a penalty shot…..Wolski starts slow….picks up some speed….fakes…SHOOTS…..SAVE BY PETERS…he read it the whole way…..Nathan McIver gets a rare goal, followed by a marker by Colin Power….3-0 after 2…..Another amazing performance by Justin Peters….No Scoring in the 3rd…Peters makes 42 saves, for his 3rd shutout of the playoffs….Final: 3-0 St. Mike’s

Game 2: Jack Skille gives us a early lead…..Brad Efthimiou finally breaks through for Brampton…..Haskings gives us a 2-1 lead after 2…..Waugh opens the lead upto 2…..Bill Kinkell responds right away for the Battalion……Henrich ties it with 7 minutes left…..Kinkel shoots….Peters save…..scrambble…..IT’S IN …..KINKEL CHOVED IT IN….90 seconds left…..Final: 4-3 Brampton……

Game 3: Joe Rand scores a minute in……Chris Clayton ties in on the power play……Clayton’s 2nd of the game gives Brampton the 2-1 lead after 1…..Adam Henrich makes it 3-1 after 2…..Clayton completes the hat-trick early in the 4rd…Vanderveekan gets 1 back…..but that’s it….Final: 4-2 Brampton….

Game 4: Peters is tired, and it’s showing….Ouzas gets the call….Drew Petkoff, and Kamil Kreps score 30 seconds apart…..Petkoff gets another one before the period ends…3-0 after 1……Chris Clayton makes it 4-0….Kreps keeps it coming….5-0…..Soso makes it 6-0…..Final: 7-1 Brampton

Down 3-1 again….this will be tougher though

Game 5: Shawn Futers opens the scoring……Kamil Kreps widens the league…..Mayer scores Brampton’s 3rd goal…3-0 after 2…..Tim Brent starts the comeback…..Futers ends the comeback…..Final: 4-1 Brampton

BRAMPTON WINS SERIES 4-1….

They killed us….Our goaltending gave us a chance, but we didn’t deserve to win….

The Eastern Conference Final will feature Brampton and Mississauga...The West will be won by either Guelph, or London

Well, just because St. Mike’s has been ousted, doesn’t mean the hockey world stops…..the World Championships are under way, NHL playoffs are in full swing, and the OHL priority selection will take place in about a week, just before the memorial cup begins…..

May 6th….Tim Brent has reached an agreement with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks….what this means is Brent in all likelihood won’t be back with the Majors next year…..we also are losing Cory Stillman, so someone is gonna have to step up, even though Stillman had 0 points in the playoffs….

May 8th….Its time for the OHL Priority Selection to begin…..being held in Guelph…..We have the 16th pick…..

#1 Belleville- Brad MacNeil, Toronto Young Nats (18th)
#2 Sudbury- Adam Rochon, Niagra Falls (13th)
#3 Owen Sound- Nathan Cameron, Sault Ste. Marie AAA, (32nd)

St. Mike’s picks
16th- Derek Laplante, Oakville (4th)
36th- Nick Wood, Oakville (14th)
56th- Fred Johnson, Pickering (30th)
76th- Trent Lessard, Coburg (100th)
96th- Adam McLaughlin, Bancroft (99th)
116th- Peter LaBlanc, Hamilton Wings (75th)
136th- Aaron Lowry, Thornhill Islanders (184th)
156th- Justin Melanson, Port Hope (60th)
176th- Andrew Bouchard, Mississauga Rebels (nr)
196th- Jordan Little, Mississauga Chargers (82nd)
216th- Joel Marshall, Michigan (199th)
236th- Justin Alexander, Port Hope (180th)
256th- Brad Leroux, Honeybaked (nr)
276th- Mike Poudrier, Trenton (nr)
296th- Randy Alexander, Saint Mary’s (nr)

That’s the draft…..pretty interested….I had detailed scouting reports on 20 or so guys…..I used the rankings a lot, and towards the last half, I looked at attributes…..players that excel in something that will make them stand out….IM hoping Derek Laplante will be a steal….

May 10th….in the world championship’s, a shocker occurred….Finland, with the likes of…..well….OK….the closest thing to a star there was Oli Jokinen, but they had a lot of fringe NHLers…..were defeated by Arturs Irbe, and Latvia, 3-1, in the quarter finals….. Latvia went on to lose the the USA 9-0 in the semi’s…..the US will face a stat studded Canadian team led by Joe Thornton, Roberto Luongo, and Rick Nash….also playing for Canada, the enigma, Alexander Dailge…..

That night, the Guelph Storm defeated Brampton 4-2 in game 7 to capture the J. Ross Robertson Cup……and win the OHL championship….the will go to the Mem Cup

With the completion of the OHL season, awards were handed out….heres the results

OHL MVP

June 16th…NHL, CHL….hockey is basically over…it’s officially the off-season…the NHL entry draft goes in 3 days, and the CHL import draft goes in a week…time to figure out what prospects Ill sing, and what older players wont be back…..Everyone wants Justin Peters, but he is untouchable …..

NHL Entry Draft…
1. Washington selects Yevgeni Malkin (2)
2. Chicago selects Robbie Schremp (1)
3. San Jose selects Wojtek Wolski (3)
4. Pittsburgh selects Alexander Ovechkin (4)
16. Florida Panthers select Justin Peters (193) 1st round
52. Boston selects Scott Lehman (73) 2nd round
72. St. Louis selects Tyler Haskins (54) 3rd round
150. Colorado selects Jamie Vanderveekan (153) 6th round
196. Edmonton Oilers select Michael Ouzas (nr) 7th round
263. NY Islanders select Dale Good (nr) 9th round

This was pretty cool…..Ovechkin goes 4th, but that’s not the big story….Justin Peters, unranked to begin the season...and a backup on his own teams, eventually gets ranked 193rd….and is taken 16th overall…..Florida really went off the board, but I can’t blame them…this kid is the real deal…..Dale Good, 20, also gets taken 2 years after he was eligible….The Islander’s could have just signed him, but they got his rights with a very late pick…..6 St. Mike’s Major’s were selected…..

The CHL import draft will be done by Conference Call….there are 2 rounds, every team in the CHL gets 2 choices……

1. Baie-Comeau select Mikko Alikoski (nr)
2. Everett select Jukka Viitanen (2)
3. Belleville select Risto Korhonen (nr)
48th….Michael Bartek (31)
104th…Vladimir Krikunov (nr)

Im not expecting much from either of these 2…Bartek is 15, so he will have a while to develop…Krikunov is 18, so it’s pretty much now or never for him…..We only have 1 overseas player on the team right now, so theres room….

June 29th….The Board is expecting St. Mike’s to make a championship push…Now do they mean OHL….or Mem Cup….they weren’t that specific…..

July 3rd….We made a huge trade….Young Andrew Colgiano, and Ryan Kitchen go to Mississauga for 19 year old star Patrick O’Sullivan….

We need to sign him, but I don’t think that will be a problem……

July 7th….John Muckler just got fired by Ottawa…even though I have no interest in this position, I’ll apply, just to see what happens….

Montreal is rumored to be involved with just about every player in the league…..chances are they’ll get noone though…haha….

July 12th…Doug Maclean leaves Columbus to become GM of the hated Ottawa Senators…..Time to apply to Columbus…..

Tim Brent looks like he will spend training camp with Anaheim….I really don’t know if he will be back….though I hope he is…He has to be better then last year…..

July 20th…Bobby Francis has been given the Columbus job…I’m more then happy to stay at St. Mike’s right now…..

July 29th…Mario Lemieux has 8 offers so far…..FOR ASSISTANT COACH….whats wrong with you people….he’s MARIO FRICKIN LEMIEUX….sign him to play HOCKEY….DAMN….

July 31st….Kitchener just invited us to participate in a exhibition tournament….hmmm….is this some kind of evil trick…..aww, what the hell….we accept…

Aug 22nd…..Its been 3 weeks, and a few things have happened in the NHL, but not much in the OHL…..I’ll report the NHL signings in September

Exhibition season is about to start….and Ive signed 3 kids from the draft….1st round pick Derek Laplante….3rd round pick Fred Johnson…..6th round pick Peter Leblanc…..

Aug 30th….OMG…I forgot about the World Cup…It starts today….preview coming up…..

The main weakness here is depth....There frontline players are almost as good as Canada's, and can compete with anyone in the world......I dont like there goaltending, but Vezina winner Robert Esche figures to start....With the exception of Hatcher and Leetch, the D is young, but could suprise.....There key forwards are older, and how they hold up may determine how far the states can go...Roenick, Deadmarsh, Tkachuk....

Sep 25th…..Cal Clutterbuck gets his 4th goal of the young season in the 1st period against against Sudbury….It’s also the 4th goal we have scored as a team….Tyler Haskins becomes the 1st Major not named Cal to get a goal…We win 4-2……

Tim Brent is down in the AHL playing for the Cincinatti Mighty Ducks……2 points in his first 2 games…..

Oct 5th….Both Cory Stillman, and Patrick O’Sullivan got off to slow starts…but it seems they have found there legs….Stillman has 5 points in 2 games, and finally got his 1st goal of the season in a 3-3 tie with Windsor….

The NHL season is about to start, and many good free agents are still available…..The waiver draft saw a few names move
• Steve Rucchin to Boston
• Roman Turek to Florida
• Bob Boughner to Dallas
• Kurt Sauer to Dallas

31 year old Richard Matvichuck apparently doesn’t want to play hockey anymore….he has become the GM of Sidney Crosby’s Rimouski Oceanic…..This makes no sense…..

Aaron Ward, Ed Belfour, Mark Recchi, Philippe Boucher, Sean Hill, Tony Amonte, Chris Chelios, Byron Dafoe, Bill Guerin, Brett Hull, Bret Hedican, Gary Roberts, Al, MacInnis, Jo Nieuwendyk are among some of the NHL regulars still available…..

Oct 9th…Turns out Tim Brent did make the opening day roster for Anaheim…he played 11 minutes in a 6-1 win over San Jose….Congrats Kid…..

Oct 10th….We beat Sudbury for our best win of the year…6-1…Clutterbuck gets 2 goals….O’Sullivan gets 2 assists….and 1st round pick Derek Laplante gets his 3rd goal of the year…..

Oct 17th….I think we have found a winning combo of lines and tactics…..We beat Mississauga 9-2….Our 1st line of O’Sullivan, Clutterbuck, and Kadatskiy combine for 11 points…..

Oct 19th….Justin Peter’s is playing like a 1st round stud goalie….he’s got a 1.84gaa, with a .918sp……excellent numbers…..

Tomas Waugh will miss a month with a twisted ankle…..He hasn’t played very well this year….which is disappointing….he had 19 goals last year….

4 of the NHL free agents have signed….AS ASSISTANT COACHES…..this needs to be fixed now…..so stupid….Bryan Marchment, and Gary Roberts are now coaches….BS…..Im starting to cringe when I look at the transaction list…..

Oct 21st….Patrick O’Sullivan is the OHL player of the week….6 points in 4 games…..Scout Jack Ferguson is leaving the club to become a scout with the Minnesota Wild…..

Oct 24th-26th……3 games in 3 nights…..a huge test for the Majors….we lose to Peterbourough with Ouzas in net….We beat 1st place Oshawa, 3-1, and Ottawa 4-2 with Peters in goal….he is really good…….

Oct 31st….Happy Halloween…Patrick O’Sullivan gets a goal and 4 assists, in a 10-1 thrashing of Plymouth……but there was some mbad news…VERY BAD NEWS….1st round OHL pick, Derek Laplante will miss 10 monthes……with a spine injury….damn….thats terrible for a 16 year old to suffer….Laplante had 9 points in 15 games…..

Patrick O’Sullivan is October’s player of the month…. Pretty good trade me thinks….

Nov 3rd….21 year old Cory Stillman is player of the week….Im a little confused, as I thought 21 was too old to play junior hockey….There’s also supposed to be a max of 3 players dressed who were born in 1984…well, I dress 3 born in 1984, as well as 3 born in 1983…..

Nov 13th…Martin St. Louis tore his acl…ouch….he’ll miss 8 monthes…..he had 17 points in 16 games…..

Nov 21st…Talk about a dominant 1st period…we outshoot Mississauga 24-2….and outscore them 5-0…..All without Cory Stillman, whos got a few bumps and bruises……We win 8-0….Patrick O’Sullivan picks up 5 points…..

NHL UPDATE TIME
• Turner Stevenson has signed in Ottawa….TO PLAY HOCKEY….OMG….2 years/350000
• Toronto trades Calle Johansson/ and a 3rd round pick to Colorado, for 22 year old Jan Lehotsky
• Toronto trades Darcy Tucker and a 5th to Minnesota for Kyle Wanvig and the rights to Mike Tarkir
• Chicago trades the rights to Mike Brodeur and a 3rd to Carolina for Pavel Brendl….

Dec 5th….Patrick O’Sullivan gets 4 points to move over 40 for the season in a 9-1 win over Belleville…..O’Sullivan is 2nd in the O in scoring, and has played just 27 games……

Defenseman Ryan Wilson will miss a month with a sprained MCL…..Wilson has been solid in his own end….and does his job…any offense from him is

December 19th…Im getting a lot of offers for Andrew Bouchard, the goalie for the Mississauga Rebels I selected in the 9th round of the OHL priority selection…..Im set in goaltending right now, but both my goalies were drafted and could be gone next year…Bouchard looks like a solid insurance policy for next season, when he’ll be 17……

Cory Stillman, struggling slightly since missing a few games a month ago finally put it all back together…getting 2 goals, 2 assists in a 6-2 win over Guelph……

December 20th…Justin Peters has been selected to be the starting goalie for Canada at this years World Junior championships….he’ll join the likes of Kyle Chipchura, Evan McGrath, and Sidney Crosby…..Jack Skille, and Tyler Haskin will play for team USA….all of a sudden, St. Mike’s is shorthanded….

Dec 23rd…..A huge blow….Cal Clutterbuck, 16 years old, with 37 points in 36 games, is out for 2 monthes with a dislocated shoulder…..the injury came in a 6-4 win over Saginaw, where we only dressed 19 skaters……I don’t want to sign one of my prospects, as they are not ready, so I’ll see if I can pick someone up so we can get through the next few weeks……

Dec 26th….We were not able to sign anyone intime for today’s game…..injuries, and world junior play limit us to just 18 skaters vs. Kingston…..it proved to be too much…..Kingston beat us 5-3…..

The WJC are in the USA this year…..Canada’s 1st game, in Greensboro is a 7-0 shutout win over Autsria….Justin Peters with the easy shutout…..

Jack Skille played 10 minutes in the USA’s 3-2 in over Norway….Tyler Haskins played 17….

2 players have signed to fill holes….our 2nd round pick in the OHL priority selection, Nick Wood signs on, and undrafted prospect Joel Bornard of Thorold gets a chance to show his stuff….

**Time to put a end to this shortlived dynasty……The game just doesn’t lend itself well imo to writing dynasty’s yet, and hopefully, with a new patch, realism will be much better for junior and NHL leagues….also, at this point, id rather play it then write about it……hope you guys enjoyed it
