Alright, the cd player in my car can play mp3, wma, and other similiar formats. My bright idea is to take some songs from a bunch of my CDs and combine them to one CD of mp3s or wmas so I dont always have to change disks.

All I had on my computer was windows media player so I decided it would be easy to use that. Wrong. I went through and saved about 160 songs and they all saved as wmas. No problem there. Next I tried to burn to a CD. After messing around with it for about 30 minutes I finally get it going. I select the tracks I want and press go. Nope, it seems that it doesnt want to copy more than 99 tracks to a CD.

That sends me out searching for a different program to burn the CD. I come across 'Acoustica MP3 CD Burner'. I says it will work with the wma format, so hopefully I wont have to resave all of those songs. So I start that up and search for songs on my HD, it doesnt find any of the wmas. I go back to their website and find an extra file that they say is needed for the wma format. I save that, but it doesnt help. I finally find a way to add them manually but when I clicking on the file gives me 'failed to load any songs on the playlist! Songs may not exist on the hard drive and may be on the internet'. Huh?

Somebody please help me out here. Is there another program out there that will do the deed? Preferably free or at least with a free trial. Am I going to have to redownload all of the songs? I guess I could go back to windows media player and just put 99 songs on the disk, but I dont know if that will even work.

Im on a dialup so if any file sharing programs can do this, they are not much of an option. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Anyone? Bueller?

I guess I may need to start all over and copy them as MP3s instead of WMAs. Anyone have a recommendation on a program that will copy the tracks as MP3s? I just DLed one but it installs a toolbar in my web browser, and Im not doin that.

I've been using CD-DA X-tractor (http://xtractor.sourceforge.net/) for over a year now and I like it a lot. Once you get the cd database and your personal preferences setup, it's two clicks to rip an album into wav or Mp3. It's also free, no ads and no problems for me in Win98 or WinXP
