What is a good rule of thumb to use when looking at a game to MOTS? Should you only do it when you reach a certain TS level or do the upcoming games matter more?
I'm in a division, V.89, where most teams put up a HSR of 120 or higher while I only put up a 78. How much of that gap do I need to make up before a MOTS would be useful for me?
Thanks for any help given to this newbie.
I might even throw in some VIP seats for the first ever game that they are available. Which should be next week btw.

Don't MOTS the best teams in your division - you really aren't competing with them. This season you should just try to avoid auto-demotion. Therefore, MOTS the teams you are fighting against for 6th place and PIC the teams that are much better.
Upcoming games matter the most. Your team will suck the week following a MOTS. If you are playing a team much worse than yours (which is unlikely since you have such a new team), you can safely MOTS. If you are playing a team much better the following week, you can also safely MOTS (and then PIC) because you were going to lose anyway. If you have back to back key games though, don't MOTS the first because you essentially forfeit the second.

excellent advice from masked.
a good "rule of thumb" as you put it, is to plan your matches in a way that you can win the most games possible, especially those matches against teams who you are most likely to be fighting for position with at the end of a season (ie. the teams who are closest to your own teams skill levels). the only time i would suggest using MOTS against a stronger team, is if your TS is high, you can PIC the match that follows the week after to repair damage to your TS, and you feel confident that you can beat your opponent with just a little extra midfield boost. seems like a lot of "ifs" but this situation has come up for me more often then one might think, and that one extra win often made a big difference with my teams position at the end of the season. Otherwise, as Masked said, its better to just PIC stronger teams and save your TS for more important matches.

Thanks for the advice. I did PIC this game as I had planned and will look a little closer at the schedule to see when a good MOTS opportnity comes around.
