OK, this is my keeper league where we keep 5 and after a first cut-down to 8 I need to cut 3 more guys.

TD = 6 pts and 0.1 pt/yard (100 yds=10 pts), no penalisation for INTs.
Also we can play any combination of 5 RB/WR with 3 RB max.

Here are the 8 guys. Which 3 would you cut ? (I am trying to get a trade done, but those other sharks don't bite easily)

QB Peyton Manning (keeper - no brainer)
RB Stephen Davis
RB Curtis Martin
RB William Green
RB Jerome Bettis
WR Koren Robinson
WR Steve Smith
WR Amani Toomer

Right now, I plan on cutting RB William green & RB Bettis, but can't resolve myself to which WR to cut.

Toomer, if you must cut one.

Bettis is easy. Think about which players would you take in the first 5 rounds.

Bettis and Green are duh choices. Toomer is the WR I would cut with some consideration given to Smith. Do not cut Robinson! Im a Toomer fan, but a team that could have a rookie QB starting much of the season is a situation to stay away from.

Actually QB Manning, RB S Davis, RB C Martin & WR Steve Smith should still be in.
After that, RB Green & RB Bettis are out. So far I agree with all of you.

The only real dilemna is between WR Koren (disappoint me) Robinson and WR Amani (not spectacular but steady) Toomer.

The shaky QB situation in NY makes me think of releasing Toomer but Robinson has yet to have a great year.

I repeat, do not cut Robinson. He is 24 and should br primed for a great year and since this is a keeper league would be someone you could keep for a while.

I agree with this assessment exactly. I would probably keep Robinson and cut Toomer, but that is the only real debate. The rest strike me as obvious.

I also like Toomer, but would cut him as well, however i may not be the best person to answer as the owner of an 0-16 team.

Don't hesitate to make this decision.

Cut RB Jerome Bettis, RB William Green, and WR Steve Smith.

The third cut is pretty much a crap shoot between Steve Smith and Amani Toomer. But go with Toomer.

I would say Toomer, Bettis and Green

Bettis and Martin...Bettis for obvious reasons, Martin is used as a workhorse, getting yardage but no TD, and then I would say either Green or Toomer. If you cut green thought you are seriously running thin on the RB situation. Can you make a trade before you cut?

Bettis, Toomer, Green. Easy.

Toomer has been
- cut in 2001
- kept in 2002
- cut in 2003
- cut in 2004

Anyhow, he always finds a way to end up on my roster ;). Maybe I'll be able to pick him up again. Our draft starts August 4th.

Green is definitely a risky keeper, but from everything I've read about the Browns, he's been a model citizen and has worked hard to turn his life around. I think he's got more potential the some think. Then again, with how well Suggs ran in the last two games it is probably not worth keeping him even if he cleans his act up.

Small threadjack here - Alf, do you plan on doing a European FF league again this year ? If yes, count me in !

FFF : no pb for the threadjack. Hopefully we can have one this year again. Need to check which free sites are avilable this year. I do enjoy the draft feature at myfantasyleague.com and do intend to have it done this way again.

For others, I hope my team won't be winning every week against the lowest scoring team of that week all regular season. :)

On the other hand, reaching the semi's four out of four years in succession would be really cool. :p

Green and Bettis are no-brainer cuts.

Then it's between Toomer and Robinson, as most have suggested. I can see keeping either of those guys, personally.

I don't get it, why is Toomer the no-brain cut over Robinson here? Have you guys actually looked at their stats? Toomer has been a better fantasy receiver for all 3 of the years Robinson has been in the league. Add in the fact that he's clearly 1 of 2 receivers, as opposed to Robinson being 1 of 3 major receiving options, I don't think it's a no-brainer decision.

Are you still holding out hope that Robinson actually emerges as some sort of super-star? The keeper angle is the only thing I can fathom here. Toomer will likely be the more valuable player again this season.

One angle is that Manning will struggle to get him the ball as well as Collins could. The guy routinely scores 5 and 6 tds a year. I don't see that rocketing to 8 or 9 with a new qb and very shaky line.

At least with Robinson there is a chance he busts out since Hasselback seems to be settling in and threw 26 tds last year. There's no way the Giants starter has that many passing tds. Granted Robinson only grabbed 4 those scores...

Neither one of them is much but if you rolling the dice a bit I'd take the 4th year man that maybe hasn't busted out yet and faces the likes of the Cardinal, Ram and SF D six times.

Good points. I suppose at the worst you're only making a small gamble taking Robinson for a potentially large payoff.
