Class of 2003 Preseason Report
S Kevin Heath, Hawaii - Heath developed nicely last season and by the end was averaging 10+ tackles a game. It was not a fun season, though. Hawaii struggled through a 3-8 record. Things aren't looking much better this season. Heath is one of only two players rated Very Good and starting RB Kent Bridges is on Academic Probation. Heath will have to play even better if Hawaii hopes to improve on that record.
QB Danny Wilson, Virginia Tech - Many thought Danny should've got the starting job at the beginning of last season. They were vindicated when Patrick Cooley went down for an injury and Danny came through with 1654 yards and 13 TD's in the final 6 games. Cooley is still on the team but Danny has far surpassed him in skill and there is nor eason to expect he won't be the starter this year. Tech fields a strong team this season with 3 Excellent and 6 Very Good players.
RB Rob Hillier, UCLA - Hillier was also the benefit of a serious injury last season. When starting RB Victor Griffith went out, Hillier took over and put up some nice numbers, although he struggled during UCLA's three game losing streak. Hillier has developed very nicely but so has Victor Griffith. Griffith is rated 92 to Hillier's 84 and will probably get the starting job, although Hillier should get plenty of carries himself. UCLA boasts an incredible team this year with 6 Excellent and 16 Very Good players.
CB Nyar Lahotep, Indiana - Nyar did not start but he played well as a backup, picking up 30 tackles and 2 INT's. Unfortunately Nyar seems to have hit a wall in his development and probably won't get much better. Indiana has decided to redshirt him this season, after wasting his redshirt year with an emergency start in one game. Indiana only has 5 players rated Very Good, and two of them are on Academic Probation, so it will be a long season.
T Jeff Nights, Michigan State - Nights started all 11 games for the Spartans last season and put up some decent numbers. He has improved tremendously in the offseason and is the 2nd highest rated player on the team. He should be one of the best Tackles in the Big 10 and will be counted on to protect QB Skip Clem who enters the season with a 72 rating. Michigan State has 10 Very Good players and is looking to imrpove on last year's abysmal record.
CB Vex Roid, Oklahoma State - Will started 11 games for Oklahoma State last season and was often picked on by the top tier teams in the Big 12. He didn't manage any INT's but looks like he's improved a bit in the offseason. The same thing can't be said for the team, though. Oklahoma State only has 2 Very Good Players this season and will probably struggle again.
QB Ardent Enthusiast, Missouri - Ardent only made it into one game during Missouri's abysmal season and spend most of the season chasing girls. He will compete for the starting job with 4th year junior Dale Brady this season. It won't be a pretty season either way as Missouri only has 1 Very Good player. After that, they only have 7 players rated Good and that includes a punter and 2 placekickers. Should be a fun season.
QB Rob Nielsen, Northwestern - Nielsen led a mediocre Northwestern squad to 5 wins last season, which matched their combined total for the previous two seasons. It wasn't always pretty, but Rob did the little things at the right times and made several clutch plays to win games for his team. Northwestern has a better defense this year, but there is still no decent receivers for Rob. With only 6 players rated Very Good, it could be a tough year.
QB Daniel Ertmann, UCLA - Daniel was backup last season to Thurman "It's Not a" Toomer. Toomer had a good career, but will not be remembered for his sloppy play last season, which was one of the main reasons UCLA lost three straight games after starting 6-0. Ertmann will have a talented, but unproven WR corps to get the ball to.

TE JeeberD Mack, TCU - Jeeber played in three games as a true freshman last season and made the highlights with a 30 yard TD reception. It looked like a nice season for Jeebr, but an injury cut it short. He hasn't improved as fast as hoped and will be the #2 TE this year. TCU does not have a strong team this year as they will only field one player rated Very Good.
CB Al Mighty, Baylor - Al started all 11 games last season and managed 33 Tackles with 2 INT's. Mighty will have to compete with two other players to keep his starting job. His biggest worry should be remaining Academically eligible. He barely escaped suspension last year with a D- in Geology and Algebra. Baylor only fields on player rated Very God but it looks like they have some depth and should be improved from last year.
QB Colton Mayes, USC - Colton sat and watched as USC won the national championship. Now it's his turn to take over the reins. He will definitely start this season and has a nice weapon to throw to in WR Anthony Kuebrich (65 catches, 1143 yards last season). Colton will be heavily scrutineized by fans as he takes over for the legendary Marshall Peterson. With 4 Excellent and 8 Very Good players on the squad, he shouldn't have much of a problem.
CB Bobby Breeze, FSU - Here's another screwup I made. I didn't realize that FSUI decided not to redshirt Bobby. They (idiotically) decided to waste a year of his eligibility so he could be the 4th string CB. Bobby only made it into 150 plays for the whole season, and recorded 9 Tackles, 3 Assists, .5 Sacks, 1 TFL, 2 Passes Defensed. Unfortunately, Bobby failed his Sports Management class last year and will be forced to sit out. The silver lining is this can basically serve as his redshirt year. FSU has 4 Excellent and 11 Very Good players, but will struggle with two other players on Academic suspension.
QB Brian Butts, South Florida - Brian sat out as a redshirt last season and looks to be the #3 QB on the depth chart. The good news is that both players ahead of him are Seniors and he should have three unchallenged years as South Florida's starting QB. Hopefully South Florida will improve by then as they only have 1 Excellent and 2 Very Good players on the roster and two of those are Kickers.
ILB James Clark, Missouri - After starting all 11 games as a true freshman, Clark's development in the offseason was very disappointing. He will start again, but that's more due to the fact that his team sucks than his own talent. Clark better improve next offseason, because there are two freshman ILB recruits waiting in the wings.
RB Jesse Ewiak, Boise State - After redshirting last season, Ewiak has a good chance of getting a starting job in Boise State's power I formation. Ewiak will have trouble finding open holes as Boise State has a terrible offensive line. The rest of the team isn't much better, with only 4 Very Good players. It will be hard to match last season's 9-3 record and bowl appearance.
DE Gold Golden, Michigan State - After redshirting last season, Golden has improved considerably and is a lock to get the starting job. Along with fellow FOFC'er Jeff Nights, they have a good shot at making the Spartans a winning team. Golden will have to pay more attention to his studies, as his 1.8 GPA nearly cost him a year of eligibility.
RB John Ravenhawk, Texas A&M - Ravenhawk got a decent amount of playing time as A&M's #2 RB last season and looks to do the same this year. Unfortunately, he has pretty much maxed out his potential and will probably wind up as a career backup. The Aggies only have 1 Excellent player and 2 Very Good players, so it will be tough for them to repeat as conference champions.
S Travis Elkin, Texas - Travis sat out last season as a redshirt and comes into this season with a strong 54 rating that will earn him a starting spot alongside All-American S Tom Lahr (rated 90). Texas will be counting on both of them to stay healthy, since there is no other Safety on the squad rated higher than 10. Texas has one of the top teams in the country this year, with 6 Excellent and 6 Very Good players.
Are you going to post what everyones ratings are? Thanks.

ILB Clint Eastwood, Washington - Due to Washington being very weak at ILB this season, Clint will get a chance to start as a true freshman. Washington struggled to a 7-5 record last season after winning the PAC 10 crown and split national title in 2004. Fans expect some improvement but they enter the season with only one Excellent and 7 Very Good players. Not bad, but it's gonna be tough to win the conference title.
ILB NTN Deacon, Boston College - Deacon will redshirt this season for BC. He joins an Eagles squad with a promising future thanks to strong recruiting. Deacon should have no problems getting the starting job next season as his competition has limited potential. This season could be difficult with only two Excellent and two Very Good players.
RB Mike Ritschel, Nebraska - Mike picked a school with some tough competition and his limited potential oculd hurt him in the future. He looks to be the #2 RB next year, but it's possible that others could pass him up in the seasons after that. Nebraska boasts lots of great talent with 5 Excellent and 4 Very Good players. The only question mark appears to be depth.
QB FB Pro, Miami - FB Pro will be redshirting this season, and unless my scout just completely misread the situation, FB will probably be a career backup due to his limited potential. The Canes struggled last year but should have an excellent chance to contend with 3 Excellent and 11 Very Good players.
WR Kyle Kappe, UCLA - Kyle is a redshirt freshman and is already the 3rd best WR on the team. Eventually he might form part of an FOFC trio of Ertmann, Hillier, and Kappe. He will redshirt this season and almost certainly claim a starting spot next year.
WR Nolan Goeken, Iowa - Nolan will be redshirting this season, but his amazing potential has fans anxious to see him play. Iowa is a perennial conference title contender and this year they brought in the #9 recruiting class in the country. Iowa has 2 Excellent and 5 Very Good players this season, but I expect to see those numbers increase in the next few seasons.
ILB David Gonzalez, California - When I first saw David's ratings, it was disappointing to see the 54 Future Estimate. However I soon realizxed that it's the highest on the team and he will likely be selected to start as a true freshman. While I still hope my scout read his potential wrong, it looks like he will have a nice career either way. California will likely struggle this year with only one Excellent and two Very Good players.

Week 1:
Finally it's here. You might notice that the summaries are much shorter, but this was a necessary change with the amount of players we have now. Also, I have purchased FOF 2004 finally, so the NFL side will be simmed with that, allowing everyone to see their combine statistics.
Nebraska at California
True freshman ILB David Gonzalez has a memorable debut with a 10 tackle performance against the Cornhuskers. He led an inspired defense that held the usually powerful Cornhuskers in check for most of the game. In the 4th quarter it was tied 17-17 and looked to be headed to overtime until Cal scored two TD's in the final 1:38 for the stunning upset victory.
Final Score: California 31, Nebraska 17
FOFC Stats: ILB David Gonzalez - 10 Tackles, 1 Pass Defensed
Texas A&M at Arizona
A stifling Texas A&M defense completely shut down Arizona's offense. They held the Wildcats to a mere 184 yards and one FG. The offense was only able to manage a TD and three FG's but it was enough for the victory. RB John Ravenhawk made some nice contributions in a backup role and had 48 total yards on the day.
Final Score: Texas A&M 16, Arizona 3
FOFC Stats: RB John Ravenhawk - 8 carries-36 yards, 2 catches-12 yards
Wyoming at USC
Fans were eager to see if new QB Colton Mayes can live up to the expectations left by his legendary predecessor Marshall Peterson. Mayes had a great start with 3 first half TD passes giving USC a 28-0 halftime lead. However, his sloppy play led to a furious Wyoming rally in the 3rd quarter that cut the lead to 10. Mayes got under control and threw three more TD's to put the game away.
Final Score: USC 52, Wyoming 18
FOFC Stats: QB Colton Mayes - 28-45 for 410 yards, 6 TD, 2 INT
Central Florida at Washington
Washington was a little sloppy early on and it was only 7-7 at the end of the 1st quarter. They got things together and scored 38 unanswered points to take the game. ILB Clint Eastwood had a decent debut with 4 Tackles and 1 Assist, but needs to work on his pass coverage skills as he allowed 3 passes to be caught against him.
Final Score: Washington 45, Central Florida 7
FOFC Stats: ILB Clint Eastwood - 4 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 TFL
Memphis at Texas
The crowd is very unhappy with the Longhorns play in the 1st half as they fall behind 10-0 to Memphis and only a TD run with 21 seconds left keeps them from a 1st half shutout. Texas still trails 10-7 as the 4th quarter starts but put three nice TD drives together int he 4th quarter for a 28-10 victory. This kind of play will not do against Oklahoma. S Travis Elkin played decent in his debut.
Final Score: Texas 28, Memphis 10
FOFC Stats: S Travis Elkin - 4 Tackles, 2 Assists
Northern Illinois at TCU
Looks like JeeberD Mack will get lots of playing time this season. Despite not getting the start, Jeeber made it into 60 plays. He only caught 1 pass, but also managed a key run block in TCU's tough 20-6 victory over Nothern Illinois.
Final Score: TCU 20, Northern Illinois 6
FOFC Stats: TE JeeberD Mack - 1 catch-4 yards, 1-3 Run Blocks.
Baylor at Fresno State
Baylor played surprisingly well in their season opener. After a 10-10 halftime tie, they broke it open with a 4 yard TD pass and 2 yard TD run within a 5 minute span that left Fresno shellshocked. Baylor, so used to getting pissed on in the past, takes some revenge by kicking a meaningless FG as time expired. CB Al Mighty had a solid game, only allowing 1 pass caught and helped hold Fresno State to 118 passing yards.
Final Score: Baylor 27, Fresno State 10
FOFC Stats: CB Al Mighty - 4 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 TFL, 1 Pass Defensed
FSU 45, South Florida 16
Iowa 41, Southern Miss 3
Indiana 34, Boston College 27
FOFC Offensive Player of the Week: QB Colton Mayes - 28-45 for 410 yards, 6 TD, 2 INT
FOFC Defensive Player of the Week: ILB David Gonzalez - 10 Tackles, 1 Pass Defensed
WR MIJB Nineteen did not receive any offers or contacts this week.
RB Ron Juckett received an offer from Syracuse and was contacted by Pittsburgh.

Week 2:
UTEP at Great Falls
Our defense plays its heart out and keeps the game close despite an unproductive offense. Despite only gaining 239 yards, we are only down 17-7 in the 4th quarter. a FG cuts it to 7 and we get a really nice chance to tie by getting the ball back on our own 41 yard line. Three plays later, Levine throws an INT that ends the game.
Final Score: UTEP 17, Great Falls 10
Texas A&M at Pittsburgh
Texas A&M was completely outmatched in this one, although the kept it close with gutsy play through the first three quarters. Pitt only has a 21-17 in the 4th quarter, but three consecutive TD drives seals the game. A&M's offense was held to 190 total yards. RB John Ravenhawk had 21 of them, all on the ground.
Final Score: Pittsburgh 42, Texas A&M 17
RB John Ravenhawk - 6 carries-21 yards
USC at Notre Dame
80,800 fans were on hand in South Bend for this huge showdown. QB Colton Mayes showed poise in a hostile environment and threw a TD pass early in the 1st quarter to put USC on top. Unfortunately, on the 1st play of the 2nd quarter Mayes was injured and had to leave the game. USC soldiered on behind backup Troy Batista by building up a 17-0 lead. They withstood a furious 4th quarter rally by the Irish and won 28-21. Mayes will be out for 7 weeks with a pulled quad.
FInal Score: USC 28, Notre Dame 21
QB Colton Mayes - 6-9 for 93 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Boise State at Wake Forest
RB Jesse Ewiak makes his first start as the #2 option in Boise State's power I formation. It's a game he'd probably like to forget. Wake Forest completely dismantles Boise by racking up 532 yards to Boise's pathetic 123. Ewiak gets 6 carries in the loss, but doesn't do much with them.
Final Score: Wake Forest 45, Boise State 0
RB Jesse Ewiak - 6 carries-16 yards
Virginia Tech at Central Michigan
This is an odd road trip for the Hokies and they looked sluggish against their inferior opponents. QB Danny Wilson gives them an early lead but with 6:10 left in the game, they only have a 13-7 lead. He then leads them on an 11 play, 90 yard TD drive that puts the game out of reach. Danny had a mediocre day at QB, completing less than half his passes and tossing 2 INT's.
Final Score: Virginia Tech 19, Central Michigan 7
QB Danny Wilson - 14-29 for 168 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
Rice at Washington
In an extremely disappointing performance at home, the Huskies have serious problems with Rice. After taking a 21-20 lead with 1:59 left in the 4th, they allow Rice to take the ensuing kickoff back for a TD to retake the lead. Rice follows that up with a backbreaking 12 play drive to take a 33-21 lead. The shellshocked Huskies cannot recover and go on to defeat. ILB Clint Eastwood has a decent game but can't do anything to stop Rice's momentum.
Final Score: Rice 36, Washington 28
ILB Clint Eastwood - 4 tackles, 4 assists, 1 TFL
Ohio at California
Ohio looked like they might be able to compete with Cal as they tied it up 14-14 late in the 1st quarter. However, Cal quickly pulled away and a 28 point 3rd quarter turned the game into an embarassing rout. ILB David Gonzalez had a terrific day, making plays all over the field.
Final Score: California 70, Ohio 14
ILB David Gonzalez - 6 Tackles, 1 Sack, 2 Passes Defensed, 3 TFL
Texas at North Carolina
North Carolina kicks an early FG to take a 3-0 lead. That was cute, wasn't it? Texas scored the next 28 points and took a 35-10 lead at halftime. S Travis Elkin had a huge day and constantly stymied North Carolina's QB by picking off a pass and defending 3 others. Texas ran up the score in the 4th to make it a blowout.
Final Score: Texas 63, North Carolina 23
S Travis Elkin - 10 Tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT, 3 Passes Defensed
San Diego State at Michigan State
Not a good way for the Spartans to start the season. SDSU takes advantage of several Michigan State turnovers to ttake a 10-3 lead at halftime. DE Gold Golden does his best to keep the Spartans in the game, showing a nice balance of run defense and pass rushing ability. Michigan State ties it midway through the 3rd, but SDSU retakes the lead early in the 4th. Michigan State's anemic offense can't muster up a comeback.
Final Score: San Diego State 17, Michigan State 10
DE Gold Golden - 5 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 1 Hurry, 2 TFL
T Jeff Nights - 2-8 Run Blocks, 0 Sacks Allowed
Southern Miss at UCLA
QB Daniel Ertmann got off to a fast start by throwing a 19 yard TD pass less than 3 minutes into the game. UCLA also returns a punt and kickoff in the 1st quarter to take a 21-3 lead. Midway through the 2nd quarter, RB Victor Griffith reaggravated his injury from last season and will be out for 14 weeks. RB Rob Hillier steps in like last year and comes through with 113 total yards. With 4:09 left in the 1st half, our first FOFC connection occurred when Daniel Ertmann threw a 19 yard TD pass to Rob Hillier. UClA went on to an easy win.
Final Score: UCLA 45, Southern Miss 10
QB Daniel Ertmann - 11-19 for 198 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
RB Rob Hillier - 18 carries-83 yards, 2 catches-30 yards, 1 TD
Hawaii at NC State
Once again Safety Kevin Heath made a ton of tackles, but it looks like the problem with Hawaii is that he is making too many tackles. With the rest of the defens ebeing so weak, many opposing players are making it into the secondary with the ball. Heath is doing a great job of bringing them down to prevent the bigger play, but until better players are recruited around him, Hawaii will suffer. That's what happened here as NC State built a 24-7 halftime lead and didn't look back.
Final Score: NC State 41, Hawaii 17
S Kevin Heath - 10 Tackles, 6 Assists, 2 Passes Defensed, 1 TFL
Coneecticut at Northwestern
After UConn took an early lead due to a punt return, Northwestern calmly took over and built a 21-6 halftime lead. QB Rob Nielsen has a great start to the season with 128 yards passing and 104 rushing. Northwestern continues to build it's lead and cruises to a pretty easy victory. If Nielsen can continue to run like that, he will be hard to stop this year.
Final Score: Northwestern 28, Connecticut 23
QB Rob Nielsen - 15-23 for 128 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 23 carries-104 yards, 2 TD

Week 3:
UAB at Great Falls
I was getting sick of Levine's poor play, so I put QB Reuben Page into the starting lineup. He is very green, but has alot of potential. Unfortunately his first game did not go well. A 10-26 for 131 yards performance was pretty much like the typical performance from Levine. Despite his poor play, we wer eonly down by 10 until UAB pulled away in the 4th quarter.
Final Score: UAB 38, Great Falls 18
Louisiana Tech at Texas
Texas ran up the score in a tune up game for upcoming Big 12 games. It was a throoughly dominating performance as they gained 633 yards to La Tech's 188. S Travis Elkinhad a mixed game. He made 5 tackles, 2 assists and defended 1 pass, but he was beat 5 times on the day, far mroe than any of his teammates. He will have to play better than that in upcoming weeks.
Final Score: Texas 59, Louisiana Tech 0
S Travis Elkin - 5 Tackles, 2 Assists, 1 Pass Defensed
Miami at Washington
After their stinging loss to Rice last week, Washingon benched ILB Clint Eastwood and he received no playing time this week. They still couldn't get past Miami, with the offense only managing a paltry 226 total yards. Miami cruised although a late score made it look closer than it was.
Final Score: Miami 14, Washington 7
Illinois at California
California had been the surprise of the season so far, but they finally came crashing down to earth against Illinois. Freshman sensation ILB David Gonzalez was dizzy as Illinois RB Marc Merkerson ran circles around him to the tune of 212 yards (on only 16 carries!). Cal's offense did not help the cause by putting up three INT's.
Final Score: Illinois 35, California 10
ILB David Gonzalez - 2 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 TFL, 1 Pass Defensed
Baylor at Boise State
It was a low scoring affair in this matchup of FOFC teams. 1 2nd quarter FG gave Baylor a 3-0 lead, which held up until the 4th quarter. Boise State's power I running game finally wore down the Baylor defense and pounded in two rushing TD's to take a 14-3 lead with 4:58 left. Baylor added a late TD but it was not enough. RB Jessie Ewiak contributed to the Boise attack with an impressive 53 yards rushing on only 7 carries. CB Al Mighty was inexplicably benched and did not make it into the game.
Final Score: Boise State 14, Baylor 11
RB Jessie Ewiak - 7 carries, 53 yards
UCLA at Ohio State
In a gamer with serious national title implications, UCLA put on a thoroughly dominating performance. Ohio State's inaility to run was a big factor in the result, as they could only manage 54 yards on 33 carries. UCLA QB Daniel Ertmann had an unspectacular but efficient outing, and RB Rob Hillier had one of the best games of his career with 146 total yards and 3 TD's. Ohio State's comback attempts officially died when their starting QB was injured and their backup wengt 1-8 for 15 yards and an INT.
Final Score: UCLA 27, Ohio State 3
QB Daniel Ertmann - 13-25 for 155 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
RB Rob Hillier - 31 carries-112 yards, 2 TD, 3 catches-34 yards, 1 TD.
Air Force at Hawaii
Once again, S Kevin Heath put in a great performance, and once again Hawaii got their butts handed to them in every way possible. Hawaii's 3 turnovers and poor 3rd down play allowed Air Force to take an early lead which they never relinquished. Heath had his best game of the season and picked up his first INT, but it wasn't enough.
Final Score: Air Force 40, Hawaii 0
S Kevin Heath - 9 Tackles, 4 Assists, 1 INT, 1 Pass Defensed, 2 TFL
TCU at SMU
Despite a weak offensive performance, the Horned Frogs played a tough game and kept it close throughout. With 5:57 left int he 3rd quarter, they tied it up 10-10 on a 3 yard TD run. SMU came back and kicked a FG early in the 4th to take a 13-10 lead. TCU had three more chances with the ball but were unable to get past the SMU 32 yard line. TE JeeberD Mack picked up 3 catches in backup duty.
Final Score: SMU 13, TCU 10
TE JeeberD Mack - 3 catches-21 yards
Fresno State at Michigan State
Another strong game from DE Gold Golden could not stop the Spartans from opening the season 0-2. After taking a 7-0 lead, they sat and watched helplessly as Fresno Satte scored 27 consecutive points. QB Skip Clem tried to get them back in the game but his 14 of 32 performance wasn't gonna do it. T Jeff Nights had another subpar game and has been disappointing this season.
Final Score: Fresno State 34, Michigan State 21
T Jeff Nights - 1-2 Run Blocks, 1 Sack Allowed
DE Gold Golden - 5 Tackles, 2 Assists, 2 Sacks, 3 TFL
Eastern Michigan at Oklahoma State
Behind an impressive 154 yard performance behind RB Dole, Oklahoma State was poised to start off the season with a win as they took a 14-3 lead into the 4th quarter. Then the Oklahoma State defense fell apart as they allowed a 13 play, 62 yard drive and a 7 play, 73 yard drive in the 4th quarter that gave Eastern Michigan an 18-14 lead. No comeback was in store as they punted twice to end the game.
Final score: Eastern Michigan 18, Oklahoma State 14
CB Vex Roid - 3 Tackles, 1 Assist
Idaho at Virginia Tech
This was not going to be a tough game for Tech and they really took it to Idaho. After a slow start they poured in 24 2nd quarter points to take a 31-3 halftime lead. The defense was superb, allowing only 113 total yards. QB Danny Wilson had a solid day 206 yards and a TD. The rushing attack needs work, though. They only managed 2.9 yards per carry against a significantly weaker Idaho squad.
Final Score: Virginia Tech 62, Idaho 10
QB Danny Wilson - 14-21 for 206 yards, 1 TD
Missouri 37, Duke 6
Colorado State 49, Indiana 27

Great Falls at Idaho
I let freshman Reuben Page staret again and he played much better, going 17 of 31 for 196 yards. We were not heavily outplayed in this game, but failed to make plays when it counter. We could not keep the ball moving mainly due to being only 2 for 10 on 3rd down conversions. As a result, Idaho held the ball for 35 minutes and wore us out for a 40-17 victory.
Final Score: Idaho 40, Great Falls 17
Illinois at UCLA
In their most important game of the season this far, UCLA came out completely flat. Illinois breezes by scoring three TD's on their first 4 possessions. Meanwhile, UCLA's offense can only manage 85 yards in the 1st half, mostly due to the terrible performance of QB Daniel Ertmann, who completed less than 25% of his passes on the day. To be fair, Ertmann did not get much help, as two passes were dropped, 2 were blocked, he was hurried 7 times and sacked 5 times. It's a miracle he did not throw an INT. Illinois kept rolling in the 2nd half and built a 40-0 lead. UCLA got their only score on a 55 yard TD run by Rob Hillier late in the 4th.
Final Score: Illinois 40, UCLA 7
QB Daniel Ertmann 7-29 for 112 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
RB Rob Hillier 11-101 yards, 1 TD
Michigan State at Missouri
A total of four FOFC players square off in a battle between two struggling schools. Michigan State started off things nicely with a 4 yard TD pass in the 1st. However, that would be their last score until 2:38 left in the game. By then Missouri had scored 28 pts to take a near insurmountable lead. After the Spartans close the gap to 28-14, Missouri effectively ends the game on Seth Copeland's 47 yard TD pass 28 seconds later. Of the 4 FOFC players, DE Gold Golden had the best game with 4 tackles and 2 TFL's.
Final Score: Missouri 35, Michigan State 14
T Jeff Nights 1-2 Run Blocks, 1 Sack Allowed
DE Gold Golden 4 Tackles, 1 Assist, 2 TFL's
ILB James Clark 5 Tackles, 2 Assists
QB Ardent Enthusiast Did Not Play
Minnesota at Baylor
After falling down 16-0 in the 1st half, Baylor puts a scare into Minnesota with two 3rd quarter TD's that cut the score to 16-14. Minnesota gets back to business with two TD drives that extend the lead to 31-17. A late comeback attempt by Baylor ended on a failed onside kick attempt. CB Al Mighty did not have a good game, only managing 3 Tackles and not defending any passes.
Final Score: Minnesota 31, Baylor 24
CB Al Mighty - 3 Tackles
Northwestern at Duke
It's more of the Rob Nielsen show as he almost singlehandedly leads his team to a 20-0 halftime lead. Duke attempts a comeback with two big plays in the 2nd half, but turnovers finally catch up to them. Nielsen once again proves to be a versatile and efficient QB, with 144 yards passing, 65 rushing, and 0 turnovers.
Final Score: Northwestern 23, Duke 15
QB Rob Nielsen 10-17 for 144 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, 18 carries-65 yards, 1 TD
Hawaii at Texas A&M
Hawaii had no chance in front of 82,000 Aggie fans. They're able to keep it close early as a TD run and FG has them down only 14-10 in the 2nd quarter. S Kevin HEath comes up with a big play by picking of a pass and returning it 55 yards, but Hawaii gives the ball back on an INT two plays later. An obviously frustrated Heath missed more tackles than usual, and Texas A&M pulled away in the 4th quarter.
Final Score: Texas A&M 38, Hawaii 13
S Kevin Heath 2 Tackles, 6 Assists, 1 INT, 1 Pass Defensed
RB John Ravenhawk 6 carries-22 yards, 1 catch-6 yards
Louisiana Tech at Oklahoma State
In a very ugly and strange game, defenses and special teams outscore offenses. Despite a stagnant offense, Oklahoma State comes to life with a punt block for a TD and a 97 yard INT return that gave them a 24-14 lead in the 4th quarter. Louisiana Tech, who also scored on a fumble return in the 1st, added a rare offensive TD to make it a 3 pt game but was unable to tie the game on their last two possessions. CB Vex Roid struggled, allowing 4 passes to be caught against him, but his teammates stepped up this week.
Final Score: Oklahoma State 24, Louisiana Tech 21
CB Vex Roid 7 Tackles, 1 Pass Defensed, 1 TFL

Week 5
Great Falls at Western Montana
Another miserable performance. I'm starting to wonder if I will win a game at all this season. Also starting to wonder if I made the house rules too restrictive. I'm gonna stick with it until I get fired, though. We could only gain 178 total yards, and could not take advantage of 5 turnovers by Western Montana.
Final Score: Western Montana 13, Great Falls 3
Oregon at USC
USC is eagerly awaiting the return of Colton Mayes, as Batista threw 4 INT's and almost gave the game away to Oregon. USC pulled through for the 13-10 win, though.
Final Score: USC 13, Oregon 10
Texas at Nebraska
Texas affirms it's place as a national title contender by blowing away the Cornhuskers in Lincoln. QB Corwin McGhee threw for 312 yards and 4 TD's, and RB Albert Strand ran for 206 yards as the Longhorns offense put up 512 yards and 41 points. S Travis Elkin had a quiet game with 3 tackles.
Final Score: Texas 41, Nebraska 14
S Travis Elkin 3 Tackles
Texas A&M at Missouri
A huge mismatch. Missouri surprised the Aggies by tying it up late in the 1st quarter but they wouldn't score again. The Aggies offense rolled behind 5 TD passes from Jerald Gaines.
Final Score: Texas A&M 35, Missouri 7
RB John Ravenhawk 3 carries-19 yards
ILB James Clark 3 Tackles, 4 Assists, 1 TFL
UCLA at Washington State
In a game that UCLA desperately needed to keep their national title hopes alive, QB Daniel Ertmann rebounds from his earlier terrible performance and throws for 326 yards and 4 TD's. Unfortunately he doesn't get much help from his defense, who allow 452 total yards to Washington State and the game is sent into OT on a TD pass with only 44 seconds left. The teams trade scores in the first three OT's, but in the 3rd OT QB Daniel Ertmann is unable to complete his 2 point conversion and UCLA falls to 2-2 on the season. RB Rob Hillier did not have much success running the ball.
Final Score: Washington State 41, UCLA 39
QB Daniel Ertmann 23-39 for 326 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT
RB Rob Hillier 31 carries-80 yards, 4 catches-41 yards
Northwestern at Purdue
Another incredible performance from Rob Nielsen keeps his team undefeated. After Purdue takes an early lead, Nielsen breaks free for an 82 yard TD run to tie it and Wade Worzella returns a punt 54 yards for a TD with no time left to put Northwestern uip 14-7. Nielsen throws two TD passes in the 2nd half and the Northwestern defense holds on for the victory. Nielsen is oncew again incredible efficient, with a 15 for 18 performance. He leads the Big 10 with a 68.9 completion % this season.
Final Score: Northwestern 28, Purdue 14
QB Rob Nielsen 15-18 for 128 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 15 carries-76 yards, 1 TD
Kansas State at Baylor
Baylor jumps out to a 21-3 lead int he 1st half behind an incredible performance from QB Earnest Porter. He throws for 202 yards and 3 TD's (on 20 of 23 completions) and runs for 216 yards and 3 TD's. Kansas State can do nothing but sit back and watch. CB Al Mighty had a quiet but solid game, not allowing any big plays.
Final Score: Baylor 44, Kansas State 26
CB Al Mighty 2 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 Pass Defensed
Oklahoma State at Kentucky
An early INT by CB Vex Roid leads to a TD pass that puts Oklahoma State up 7-0. Unfortunately that would be the last scoring they do until the 4th quarter. By then Kentucky had built a 20-7 lead and it was too little, too late.
Final Score: Kentucky 20, Oklahoma State 10
CB Vex Roid 4 Tackles, 2 PAsses Defensed, 1 INT
Rutgers at Virginia Tech
Another great game for QB Danny Wilson who throws for 262 yards and 5 TD's and keeping his Hokies undefeated. Wilson finds a great target in Joseph Newman who catches 8 of his passes for 177 yards and 3 TD's.
Final Score: Virginia Tech 49, Rutgers 10
QB Danny Wilson 12-19 for 262 yards, 5 TD, 1 INT
California at Oregon State
A dominating 2nd quarter by Cal gives them a 24-7 halftime lead and they never looked back. Oregon State was forced to play catch up and this allowed ILB David Gonzalez to show off his pass defense skills as he defensed 3 passes on the day. Oregon State could get no clsoer than 10 pts the rest of the way.
Final Score: California 31, Oregon State 21
ILB David Gonzalez 4 Tackles, 1 Assist, 3 Passes Defensed
Cincinnatti at TCU
TCU put on an offensive showcase with 492 total yards and 5 TD passes. After a slow start, they quickly built their lead and began to run up the score by the end. Cincinnatti could only manage 142 total yards. TE JeeberD Mack has a couple catches in backup duty.
Final Score: TCU 59, Cincinnatti 3
TE JeeberD Mack 2 catches-28 yards
Hawaii at Louisiana Tech
Hawaii put together a much better defensive performance this week, and the way you can tell is S Kevin Heath made fewwer tackles than usual. The players up front were finally making plays, preventing opponents from getting into the secondary. Hawaii still struggled until the 4th quarter, where two TD drives give them the victory.
Final Score: Hawaii 24, Louisiana Tech 17
S Kevin Heath 5 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 Pass Defensed, 1 TFL
Rice at Boise State
This was a wild game in which the offenses combined for 953 total yards and 87 points. Boise takes a 21-7 lead in the 2nd quarter only to see it disintegrate very quickly. Rice makes a strong combeack, and after scoring with 5 seconds left in the 1st half, is only down by 3 points. Rice continues to play well and holds a 42-35 lead late but Boise State ties it with only 36 seconds left. However, Rice's FG in OT holds when Boise goes out on downs.
Final Score: Rice 45, Boise State 42
RB Jesse Ewiak 6 carries-15 yards, 1 catch-9 yards
Miami 19, Syracuse 10
Michigan 20, Iowa 3

Minnesota at Northwestern
Another great performance from QB Rob Nielsen keeps Northwestern undefeated. Nielsen ran for 85 yards and threw for 148 and had 2 TD's on the day. CB Vex Roid 2 tackles, 1 assist
Wisconsin at Michigan State
Michigan State's nightmarish season continues. They put together a terrible offensive performance with only 7 first downs and 179 total yards. However, the defense played great, led by an incredible performance by DE Gold Golden, who had 9 tackles, 3 assists, and 3 TFL. TE JeeberD Mack 1 catch-7 yards
Boise State at San Jose State
It was a back and forth game, and Boise held a 20-14 lead going into the 4th quarter. It looke dlike they might be able to hold on for victory, but San Jose State scored the go ahead TD with 34 seconds remaining. Boise drove into FG range, but botched the attempt. RB Jesse Ewiak had 21 total yards as the 2nd option in Boise's backfield. Most of hte carries were focused on the #1 man, who gained 123 yards on 23 carries.

RB Jesse Ewiak 2 carries-15 yards, 1 catch-6 yards

Week 7
Great Falls at Montana
Will we win a game this year? Doesn't look like it. After tying it up in the 1st quarter, we completely fall apart and allow Montana to take a 24-7 lead. Reuben Page got the start and he managed 75 yards passing. That's just pathetic.
Final Score: Montana 31, Great Falls 17

Week 8
Montana State at Great Falls
We completely dominate the 1st half and enter the 3rd quarter with a 13-0 lead. Montana State scores three 3rd quarter TD's to take a 21-13 lead into the 4th. It looks like we're gonna blow another one. Then Page gets injured and Robert Gerhardt comes in for him and gets us back in the game. With 40 seconds left, he throws a 46 yard TD pass to win the game. Finally!
Final Score: Great Falls 31, Montana State 28
Washington State at USC (QB Colton Mayes)
Colton Mayes was on fire today. He throws TD passes of 28, 48, and 76 yards along with his 492 yard performance. The USC defense also has two big INT returns resulting in TD's and nab 4 INT's on the day. Washington State never had a chance.
Final Score: USC 47, Washington State 14
QB Colton Mayes 27-49 for 492 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT
Virginia Tech (QB Danny Wilson) at Pittsburgh
QB Danny Wilson does it once again. After Pitt takes an early 7-0 lead, the Hokies ride Wilson's extremely accurate 19 of 25 performance and score 26 consecutive points before Pitt can get back on the board. By then, its the 4th quarter and much too late for a comeback.
Final score: Virginia Tech 33, Pittsburgh 13
QB Danny Wilson 19-25 for 206 yards, 1 TD
Missouri (ILB James Clark) at Nebraska
After last week's upset of #15 Colorado, Missouri comes back to earth as Nebraska dominates them from start to finish. Missouri is held to 227 total yards, but the major factor int he game was field position. Missouri's average starting position was their own 26 and Nebraska was basically playing on an Arena league field with an average start at their own 45.
Final Score: Nebraska 45, Missouri 15
ILB James Clark 2 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 Pass Defensed
Washington (ILB Clint Eastwood) at UCLA (QB Daniel Ertmann, RB Rob Hillier)
Two things decided the outcome of this game: RB Rob Hillier's running performance and the 5 turnovers committed by Washington. Hillier ran for 162 yards and 2 TD's as UCLA built a 27-7 halftime lead. ILB Clint Eastwood had the best game of his career for Washington, but the 5 turnovers committed by the offense negated a strong defensive effort that limited QB Daniel Ertmann to 105 yards passing and 0 TD's.
Final Score: UCLA 30, Washington 13
QB Daniel Ertmann 7-15 for 105 yards, 1 INT
RB Rob Hillier 28 carries-162 yards, 2 TD
ILB Clint Eastwood 3 Tackles, 6 assists, 1 INT, 2 TFL
Northwestern (QB Rob Nielsen) at Ohio State
Northwestern has had an incredible run in going 4-0 to start the season. Most pundits have scoffed at their weak schedule, so a road trip to Ohio State would be the first real test of the season. Ohio State's focus was stopping Rob Nielsen on the run, but in doing so, they ignored starting RB Buddy Bensen who ran for 123 yards and 1 TD. With less focus on his running, Nielsen was able to put together a strong passing performance. When Ohio State pulled within 7 pts in the 4th quarter, Nielsen threw a clutch 63 yard TD pass to put the game away.
Final Score: Northwestern 27, Ohio State 13
QB Rob Nielsen 16-25 for 216 yards, 1 TD, 13 carries-23 yards
Texas A&M (RB John Ravenhawk) at Baylor (CB Al Mighty)
One week after being embarassed by Oklahoma State, the Aggies fall victim to Baylor. It wasn't even very close as Baylor built a 19-0 lead before A&M scored late in the 4th quarter. Neither FOFC player was a big factor in the outcome. I certainly wouldn't want to be the coach of Texas A&M right now.
Final Score: Baylor 19, Texas A&M 8
RB John Ravenhawk 5 carries-6 yards
CB Al Mighty 4 Tackles
Purdue at Michigan State (T Jeff Nights, DE Gold Golden)
Michigan State could be looking at a possible winless season. Purdue breaks a 1st quarter tie with three 2nd quarter TD's to run away with the game. Michigan State could not keep up. DE Gold GOlden had his weakest performance yet, with only 2 Tackles, although both were TFLs.
Final Score: Purdue 35, Michigan State 10
T Jeff Nights 2-4 run blocks, 0 sacks allowed.
DE Gold Golden 2 Tackles, 2 TFL
Texas Tech at Oklahoma State (CB Vex Roid)
Oklahoma State played a tough game, but was unable to match last weeks upset of Texas A&M. After going to the half with a 14-3 deficit, they scored in the 3rd quarter to make it a 4 pt game, but Texas Tech took over int he 4th quarter to put the game away.
Final Score: Texas Tech 28, Oklahoma State 16
CB Vex Roid 5 Tackles, 1 Pass Defensed
Oregon at California (ILB David Gonzalez)
An 80 yard TD run 6 seconds into the game puts Oregon up early and they lead 17-10 at the half. California's passing game is struggling, but they were smart enough to continue pounding away at the run and the 163 yard performance by Claude Usher helped them score two 2nd half TD's to win the game. David Gonzalez had a great day and helped the defense pitch a 2nd half shutout.
Final Score: California 24, Oregon 17
ILB David Gonzalez 5 Tackles, 6 Assists, 1 Pass Defensed
Tulane at TCU (TE JeeberD Mack)
Jeeber got his first ever start this week and made the most of it with 3 catches for 45 yards and 2 Key Run Blocks. TCU built a 14-0 lead but Tulane scored 17 straight pts to take the lead. Jeeber had a key block on a decisive 3rd down play in a 4th quarter drive that eventually led to the winning score.
Final Score: TCU 21, Tulane 18
TE JeeberD Mack 3 catches-45 yards, 2-4 Key Run Blocks
Hawaii (S Kevin Heath) at San Jose State
Hawaii apparently decided that two wins in a row was too much for them, because they threw away several opportunities in this one. Things looked good with a 17-17 tie at the half, but the 2nd half would be a different story. Hawaii's offense could not get moving in the 2nd half, and failed to take advantage of 4 INT's thrown by San Jose State. Heath picked up his 4th INt of the season, but he cannot play offense and Hawaii could not match San Jose State's 17 2nd half points.
Final Score: San Jose State 34, Hawaii 17
S Kevin Heath 5 tackles, 4 assists, 1 INT, 1 TFL
Iowa 24, Illinois 21
FSU 21, NC State 18
UAB 12, South Florida 10
Minnesota 13, Indiana 12
Miami 24, Rutgers 7
Syracuse 55, West Virginia 10
Offensive Player of the Week: QB Colton Mayes 27-49 for 492 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT

Great Falls at Troy State
Previously winless Troy State takes us to the woodshed for a 31-3 beating. I don't have much to say about this mess.
Final Score: Troy State 31, Great Falls 3
Michigan at Northwestern (QB Rob Nielsen)
This was a huge matchup between #11 Michigan and #20 Northwestern. Both teams had been undefeated to this point. Despite their win over Ohio State, some pundits still doubted Nothwestern. They were determined to prove them wrong and raced off to a 9-0 first half lead, completely dominating time of possession. Unfortunately, their inability to get in the end zone hurt them. Michigan scored twice on long range plays in the 2nd half, a 50 yard pass and 42 yard run, and that was all they needed to steal the victory from Northwestern. Once again, Nielsen was stopped on the run but he was unable to put together a good passing performance to make up for it.
Final Score: Michigan 14, Northwestern 9
QB Rob Nielsen 12-25 for 145 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, 9 carries-2 yards
Virginia Tech (QB Danny Wilson) at Syracuse
QB Danny Wilson opened the scoring with a 49 yard TD pass in the 1st quarter and Virginia Tech never looked back. Despite getting sacked 5 times from a strong Syracuse pass Rush, Wilson managed 372 yards and a TD. Syracuse scored 17 pts in the 4th to make the score look closer than it actually was.
Final Score: Virginia Tech 27, Syracuse 17
QB Danny Wilson 17-25 for 373 yards, 1 TD
Texas (S Travis Elkin) at Iowa State
Texas played a little sloppy again, and Iowa State managed to tie the score at 14 early in the 2nd quarter. Texas got it together behind the running performance of Albert Strand (239 yards, 4 TD's) and outscored Iowa State 28-3 the rest of the way. S Travis Elkin had one of his worst games, getting beat 4 times on the day.
Final Score: Texas 42, Iowa State 17
Texas A&M (RB John Ravenhawk) at Colorado
Texas A&M obviously has no confidence left after humiliating back to back losses against Oklahoma State and Baylor. Colorado easily raced off to a 31-0 lead before the Aggies got on the board late in the 2nd half. A&M was held to -19 total yards rushing.
Final Score: Colorado 45, Texas A&M 23
RB John Ravenhawk 3 carries-13 yards, 1 catch-2 yards
USC (QB Colton Mayes) at Oregon State
QB Colton Mayes shows that while he does have a ton of talent, he still as quite a bit to learn. Both offenses show weakness in the beginning and it is only 7-7 when the 4th quarter starts. USC has no problem moving the ball, but missed FG's and two INT's stall their progress. Oregon State takes a 21-14 lead late in the 4th quarter (partly thanks to another Mayes INT), but USC ties it with 1 minute left to send it into OT. 1st OT, both teams score TD's. 2nd OT, USC misses a FG, but OSU misses their own FG attempt. 3rd OT, OSU turns it over on downs, but Mayes throws yet another INT. 4th OT, Mayes runs a draw up the middle ofr a 23 yard TD! OSU is unable to score and USC walks away with a wild win.
Final Score: USC 34, Oregon State 28
QB Colton Mayes 36-62 for 425 yards, 3 TD, 5 INT, 1 TD run
Michigan State (DE Gold Golden, T Jeff Nights) at Illinois
Michigan State's offense plays better than it has all year and takes a 27-20 lead in the half. Unfortunately, they can only manage 92 total yards in the 2nd half. Then with the score tied at 27, a costly fumble gives Illinois field position inside the red zone and they convert it for another TD. A desperation drive comes up sdhort and Michigan State suffers another painful loss.
Final Score: Illinois 34, Michigan State 27
DE Gold Golden 2 Tackles, 1 Assist, .5 Sacks, 1 TFL
T Jeff Nights 3-9 Run Blocks, 0 Sacks Allowed
Missouri (ILB James Clark) at Baylor (CB Al Mighty)
Missouri and Baylor have both surprised me this season. This was a crucial game for both teams as the winner might actually have a shot at a bowl game. It was a defensive sluigfest in the first half. Missouri was led by James Clark on defense and he had his best game yet. But after taking a 10-7 lead on a kickoff return in the 3rd quarter, everything fell apart. Baylor scored 24 unanswered points to win the game. CB Al Mighty had a great game and helped hold Missouri to 80 total passing yards.
Final Score: Baylor 31, Missouri 10
CB Al Mighty 3 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 INT, 1 Pass Defensed
ILB James Clark 7 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 INT, 1 Pass Defensed
Oklahoma State (CB Vex Roid) at Kansas State
Kansas State has had a terrible season so far, but they came through today with a dominating performance. Oklahoma State kept it as close as 7 midway through the 3rd quarter, but Kansas State pulled away for the victory.
Final Score: Kansas State 35, Oklahoma State 21
CB Vex Roid 2 Tackles, 3 Assists, 2 Passes Defensed
Arizona at UCLA (QB Daniel Ertmann, RB Rob Hillier)
Great performances from Daniel Ertmann and Rob Hillier lead UCLA to it's 4th straight victory. Ertmann threw 2 TD passes in the 1st quarter and Hillier added a TD in the 2nd as UCLA raced off to a 24-0 halftime lead. Ertmann and Hillier continued to shine in the 2nd half and brought home 24 more points for UCLA. UCLA's defense held Arizona to a pathetic 4 first downs.
Final Score: UCLA 48, Arizona 0
QB Daniel Ertmann 19-33 for 260 yards, 4 TD, 1 INT
RB Rob Hillier 22 carries-124 yards, 1 TD, 6 catches-85 yards
California (ILB David Gonzalez) at Arizona State
California's defense shined again. Behind David Gonzalez's 7 Tackles and 2 Assists, they held ASU to 281 total yards. California held a 13-10 lead with 27 seconds left as ASU moved into California territory. However, CB Cornelius Nafis picked off a pass and returned it 78 yards to close out the game.
Final Score: California 20, Arizona State 10
ILB David Gonzalez 7 Tackles, 2 Assists, 1 Pass Defensed
TCU (TE JeeberD Mack) at East Carolina
Looked like it might be an easy one for TCU as they raced off to a 21-0 1st quarter lead. However, their offense stalled and East Carolina slowly chipped away at the lead, eventually tying it early int he 4th quarter. The teams then traded scored until TCU hit a FG with no time left to win the game.
Final Score: TCU 31, East Carolina 28
TE JeeberD Mack 2 catches-16 yards
Boise State (RB Jesse Ewiak) at Tulsa
Pretty easy win for Boise State, pushing their record back up to .500 . RB Jesse Ewiak did not get many carries but was able to catch 5 passes out of the backfield and scored a TD on one of them. Only 10,800 tulsa fans came out to see this one.
Final Score: Boise State 34, Tulsa 8
RB Jesse Ewiak 2 carries-5 yards, 5 catches-49 yards, 1 TD
Nevada at Hawaii (S Kevin Heath)
In a wild game, Hawaii takes home a much needed victory in triple OT. S Kevin Heath has another one of those games, where he makes 12 Tackles, something he hasn't done in a while. However, his pass defense was a little weak as he allowed 4 passes to be caught against him. The teams traded FG's and then TD's int he first two OT's. Then Hawaii scored on a 7 yard TD pass, and Nevada was unable to respond.
Final Score: Hawaii 32, Nevada 24
S Kevin Heath 12 Tackles, 3 Assists, 1 TFL
FSU 18, Georgia Tech 15
Nebraska 31, Texas Tech 24
Miami 58, Temple 7
Iowa 47, Indiana 7
Boston College 42, West Virginia 14
Offensive Player of the Week: RB Rob Hillier 22 carries-124 yards, 1 TD, 6 catches-85 yards

Week 10
Rocky Mountain at Great Falls
This is one we let get away from us. With a 24-17 4th quarter lead, we allow 10 pts in a span of 2:30, the TD coming on an INT return. We also had a fumble returned for a TD.
Final Score: Rocky Mountain 27, Great Falls 24
Minnesota at Michigan State (T Jeff Nights, DE Gold Golden)
It started to look like Michigan State would go winless this season, but they put that notion to rest with a great first half that put them ahead 24-0. Minnesota could do very little to close that gap as the Spartans Defense, led by DE Gold Golden, held Minnesota to 156 total yards for the game. T Jeff Nights led a Spartans rushing attack to 178 yards. In fact, he played so well that he was named the game MVP.
Final Score: Michigan State 38, Minnesota 13
T Jeff Nights 5-13 run blocks, 0 Sacks Allowed
DE Gold Golden 7 Tackles, 1.5 Sacks, 1 Hurry, 4 TFL
Northwestern (QB Rob Nielsen) at Wisconsin
Wisconsin held Northwestern's running game in check and QB Rob Nielsen was once again frustrated in the passing game. This bad combination led to a 21-0 1st quarter deficit. Northwestern worked to overcome that behind Nielsen's gutsy performance (two rushing TD's) but they never gave Wisconsin a scare.
Final Score: Wisconsin 40, Northwestern 29
QB Rob Nielsen 14-29 for 213 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 8 carries-35 yards, 2 TD
Missouri (ILB James Clark) at Kansas State
A lethargic Missouri team watched KSU score 3 TD's in the first 9 minutes and cruise to an easy victory. James Clark was injured early and will be out for approximately 4 weeks, which may signal the end of the season for him. Hideous Stat of the game: Missouri QB Dale Brady had only 6 completions in 32 attempts for 52 yards, 0 TD, and 5 INT. Surely Ardent can do better than that.
Final Score: Kansas State 35, Missouri 0
Oklahoma at Texas A&M (RB John Ravenhawk)
Both offenses were one dimensional in this one. The teams combined for 788 yards passing but only 51 yards rushing. The difference was time of possession and Oklahoma controlled it for 37:02, wearing out A&M's defense in the 2nd half. Ravenhawk only saw limited action in this one.
Final Score: Oklahoma 40, Texas A&M 23
RB John Ravenhawk 1 catch-4 yards
Texas Tech at Texas (S Travis Elkin)
Texas outgained Tech 491 to 207 amd cruised after a sluggish 1st quarter in which they only led 7-3. Elkin had 7 tackles and 2 assists and RB Albert Strand led the offense with 189 yards and 2 TD's.
Final Score: Texas 42, Texas Tech 3
S Travis Elkin 7 Tackles, 2 Assists
Baylor (CB Al Mighty) at Oklahoma State (CB Vex Roid)
In a battle of FOFC cornerbacks, neither of the teams played particularly well. What decided the game was turnovers. Baylor QB Alan Cook threw 3 INT's (one caught by Vex Roid) and Oklahoma State managed to get through the game without one turnover. This helped Oklahoma State to a 17-3 halftime lead and they held off Baylor in the 2nd half for victory.
Final Score: Oklahoma State 17, Baylor 10
CB Vex Roid 3 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 INT, 1 TFL
CB Al Mighty 4 Tackles, 3 Passes Defensed
Washington (ILB Clint Eastwood) at California (ILB David Gonzalez)
In a battle of FOFC linebackers, both defenses came up strong and the score was only 3-3 at the start of the 4th quarter. It was Eastwood's day as he continued to hold California in check while Washington was able to put two TD's on the board in the 4th quarter. California could only manage a TD with 40 seconds left. Onside kick was recovered by Washington.
Final Score: Washington 17, California 10
ILB Clint Eastwood 13 Tackles, 2 Assists, 3 TFL
ILB David Gonzalez 5 Tackles, 4 Assists
Arizona State at USC (QB Colton Mayes)
Despite some accuracy issues, Mayes had a great game and led USC to an easy route of their conference rivals. Behind Mayes 401 yard performance, USC scored 14 pts in each of the 4 quarters and ASU could only manage a FG.
Final Score: USC 56, Arizona State 3
QB Colton Mayes 23-43 for 401 yards, 4 TD, 1 INT, 2 carries-20 yards
Memphis at TCU (TE JeeberD Mack)
Memphis slowly built a 24-7 lead through the first 35 minutes of the game and TCU simply didn't wake up in time to catch them. A 4th quarter comeback brought them within 7, but Memphis answered and made it a two possession game again. TCU could not score again. TE JeeberD Mack did not get any receptions this week, but did have 2 Run Blocks.
Final Score: Memphis 31, TCU 17
Hawaii (S Kevin Heath) at SMU
Hawaii jumped out to a 14-0 lead int he first 7 minutes and added a FG in the 2nd quarter to make it 17-0 at the half. This is all the scoring they would do, but it proved tp be enough as the Hawaii defense, led by another great Kevin Heath performance, held SMU's comeback to only 13 pts. Now if Hawaii wins out, they may have a possible bowl shot.
Final Score: Hawaii 17, SMU 13
S Kevin Heath
Nevada at Boise State (RB Jesse Ewiak)
Both offenses put up impressive numbers in this game, each going for over 400 total yards. The real difference in the game was 3rd down conversions. Boise State could only convert one 3rd down out of 10 chances and that stopped many of their drives. Boise State finally made some big plays int he 4th quarter but it was too late for a comeback.
Final Score: Nevada 41, Boise State 24
RB Jesse Ewiak 4 carries-24 yards, 2 catches-15 yards
Rutgers 41, Boston College 27
FSU 45, Florida 17
Purdue 38, Iowa 28

Here's the latest BCS rankings. As you can see, we have several FOFC teams in the hunt for the national title. The real surprises so far are Missouri at 5-4 and Baylor at 4-4. They've played way above what I had expected. Texas A&M at 4-5 has to be a disappointment.

I guess my "want a winner" rating is very high, picking between FSU (7-1), USC (7-1) and Pittsburgh (6-3) should be tough.

Defensive Player of the Week: ILB Clint Eastwood 13 Tackles, 2 Assists, 3 TFL

Week 11
Great Falls at New Mexico State
Our offense actually played decently, with Gerhardt throwing for 223 yards and 2 TD's. Unfortunately we were only 3 for 12 on 3rd downs and that's not good enough. We lose again.
Final Score: New Mexico State 27, Great Falls 20
Colorado at Texas (S Travis Elkin)
Texas takes another step toward the national championship game. Leroy Lockhart threw for 334 yards and 3 TD's as Texas built a 28-10 lead through the 1st 3 quarters. Colorado came storming back and cut the lead to 28-26, but Amos Hawkins came up with an INT to kill Colorado's last drive. Elkin had a decent game with 7 tackles but was beat on 3 passing plays.
Final Score: Texas 28, Colorado 26
S Travis Elkin 7 Tackles, 2 Assists, 1 Pass Defensed, 1 TFL
Miami at Virginia Tech (QB Danny Wilson)
The biggest game of the season. Both were undefeated at this point. The winner pretty much clinches the conference title and a potential championship berth, and the loser will have to wait until next year. It was a defensive struggle, but Wilson provided enough offense for Virginia Tech to carry a 10-6 halftime lead. In the 2nd half, the Hokies ran a ball control offense that wore the Miami defense down. In the 4th quarter, they added 10 points to put the game away.
Final Score: Virginia Tech 20, Miami 6
Danny Wilson 18-26 for 208 yards, 1 TD, 5 carries-28 yards
USC (QB Colton Mayes) at California (ILB David Gonzalez)
73,800 California fans had their team riled up int he 1st quarter. It started with a 62 yard TD run in the 1st minute of the game. California added two more TD's (one on an INT return) and a FG. All in the 1st quarter. Cal's defense, led by David Gonzalez, completely shut down USC. Colton Mayes finally got thigns together with a 44 yard TD pass bringing hte score to 24-7. Mayes added another TD pass late in the 3rd to make it 27-17 entering the 4th quarter. However, the offense stalls with two turnovers in the 4th quarter and California runs away with a huge upset.
Final Score: California 44, USC 20
QB Colton Mayes 17-37 for 312 yards, 2 TD, 3 INT
ILB David Gonzalez 8 Tackles, 2 Assists, 1 Pass Defensed, 3 TFL, 1 Hurry
Rice at Hawaii (S Kevin Heath)
A defensive struggle in the first half ended with a 10-3 lead for Hawaii. Unfortunately, Hawaii decided not to show up for the 2nd half. Despite another strong game from Kevin Heath, Rice outscored Hawaii 37-7 in the 2nd half for the victory.
Final Score: Rice 37, Hawaii 17
S Kevin Heath 6 Tackles, 3 Assists, 1 TFL
Baylor (CB Al Mighty) at Nebraska
It's been a rough season in Lincoln, but they certainly wouldn't lose to Baylor, would they? After taking a 14-0 lead, Baylor storms back to tie it at the half. Nebraska goes ahead int he 3rd quarter on a TD run. However, only one team shows up for the 4th quarter and it was not Nebraska. Baylor puts up 20 pts int he 4th quarter for the stunning upset. A major factor was the 5 INT's thrown by Nebraska's QB, and Al Mighty had one of them.
Final Score: Baylor 34, Nebraska 21
CB Al Mighty 1 Tackle, 2 Assists, 1 INT
Michigan at Michigan State (T Jeff Nights, DE Gold Golden)
Michigan was in control of this one from beginning to end, although the Spartans defense kept it close. It was only 9-3 at the half, and Michigan didn't have a comfortable lead until scoring a TD in the 4th quarter. T Jeff Nights had a terrible game, allowing 3 of the 4 sacks the Spartans gave up, but DE Gold Golden had a great game, constantly putting pressure on Michigan's QB.
Final Score: Michigan 17, Michigan State 10
T Jeff Nights 2-5 Run Blocks, 3 Sacks Allowed
DE Gold Golden 4 Tackles, 1 Assist, 1 Sack, 4 Hurries, 1 TFL
Northwestern (QB Rob Nielsen) at Indiana
Northwestern took an early lead, and held it throughout most of the game. Rob Nielsen wasn't able to run much, but did have one of his best passing performances. In the 4th quarter, they hit a FG to go up 16-0. Indiana responded with a kickoff return and converted the 2 point try. Then with 6 seconds left, Indiana tied it on a 4 yard TD pass and 2 point conversion to send it into OT. Northwestern hit a FG in their OT, but Indiana scored a TD to send Northwestern to their 3rd straight loss.
Final Score: Indiana 22, Northwestern 19
QB Rob Nielsen 25-31 for 293 yards, 13 carries-12 yards, 1 TD
Kansas at Oklahoma State (CB Vex Roid)
No defense showed up for this game. The two teams combined for 857 total yards and 76 points. Kansas led the entire game and held a 35-17 lead int he 4th quarter. Oklahoma State cut it to 8 points, but they could not get any closer.
Final Score: Kansas 42, Oklahoma State 34
CB Vex Roid 2 Tackles, 1 TFL
UCLA (QB Daniel Ertmann, RB Rob Hillier) at Arizona State
No contest here. Arizona State could not stop Rob Hillier as he scored three 1st half TD's and 4 overall in the game. Daniel Ertmann didn't have a great game, but it was good enough for the win.
Final Score: UCLA 45, Arizona State 10
RB Rob Hillier 27 carries-124 yards, 4 TD, 4 catches-26 yards
QB Daniel Ertmann 16-24 for 242 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT
Washington (ILB Clint Eastwood) at Oregon
Washington builds up a 21-7 lead in the 4th quarter and is able to hold off the Oregon comeback for the victory. Washington outgained Oregon 369-199 and the offense was an impressive 11 of 19 on 3rd downs.
Final Score: Washington 21, Oregon 14
ILB Clint Eastwood 3 Tackles, 1 Assist
TCU (TE JeeberD Mack) at Army
Army did a ghood job of making this a close one. A 40 yard TD run in the 3rd quarter had them down only 21-17. Unfortunately, they did not show up for the 4th quarter and TCU scored 3 TD's to run away with the game. Jeeber had the best game of his career with a 4 catch, 56 yard performance.
Final Score: TCU 48, Army 17
TE JeeberD Mack 4 catches-56 yards
Boise State (RB Jesse Ewiak) at SMU
SMU actually outplayed Boise State for most of this game, but it was mental mistakes that doomed SMU. 3 Turnovers and 13 penalties killed many of their drives, while Boise State efficiently moved down the field and capitalized on SMU's mistakes. It was 15-3 at the half, and SMU never got closer than that the rest of the way.
Final Score: Boise State 35, SMU 10
RB Jesse Ewiak 8 carries-30 yards, 2 catches-26 yards
Tulane 23, South Florida 17
Iowa 42, Minnesota 13
Syracuse 38, Rutgers 13
Boston College 23, Temple 14
Offensive Player of the Week: RB Rob Hillier 27 carries-124 yards, 4 TD, 4 catches-26 yards
Defensive Player of the Week: ILB David Gonzalez 8 Tackles, 2 Assists, 1 Pass Defensed, 3 TFL, 1 Hurry

I'm sure you know this, but please make sure you backup your universe files so you don't have to start over in case it resets the game files.

Very bad news. I was trying to zip up my universe folder to back it up, and the league file seems to be corrupted. If so, this really pisses me off. I spent alot of time on this and to not be able to see it through is really annoying.

Larry, not sure if this is the same error 23 or a different one, but this link could help, even if this dynasty is dead.

Thanks for the link! It did help my elicense problem.
When I tried to load the dynasty, it says "Unable to load staff information file. Saved Game is corrupted." I'm assuming nothing can be done about this.
