I know that a thread that says Texas in the title will get a bunch of haters looking for a place to joke, but this isn't the place, so go away.

I was wondering if the rest of the state gets the tape of the Miss Texas pageant tonight (saturday) like we do in the FW/D metroplex? Here, it is on at 10:30pm. The point being, if you get the feed or tape delay of it, you can see, sometime towards the end (according to my daughter, who was there with my brother, who's a VP or something), a tribute to 2 longtime pageant people who died in the past pageant year, one of whom was my father. He was the Executive Producer and Vice President of the Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant for, well, about forever.

Like some people, I just felt like writing this as some of us feel a bit of a bond, albeit of the Sixth Sense, "I see dead people" variety as I don't really know y'all. But there you go, just the same.

Sorry I missed it, TA. Sounds like your father was a good man who helped a lot of people... :)

I missed it too, don't get to see much TV being on the road. Wasn't it down my way though, deep south Texas? Rio Grande Valley area or Laredo? Thought I saw something about it being down here somewhere this year.....i dunno. Sorry about your father......

Thanks for responding. My dad died last July, so it's not that big a deal anymore, really (harsh sounding maybe, but true).

The Miss Texas Pageant is always in Ft. Worth but televised here and there I think. The show, I thought, was pretty amateurish in production. My dad would have been pissed as that was part of his thing. I never cared about it since all it was to me was the reason he was never around (he traveled all over the country judging other state pageants). The whole thing is one HUGE business.
