View Full Version : My dad got knocked down by a Cub fan!

Actually it was kind of funny.

Leaving the Cardinal - Cubs game yesterday when my dad says to this mid 20yr old, "There's always next year". The guy follows my dad outside the stadium and then says, "C'mon you old man, I'll kick your ass". My dad then bitch slaps the guy in the face (I'm ahead of my dad walking to the car), the kid then rears back and punches my dad right in the face. I look back and see my dad laying on the ground, pretty much knocked out. Meanwhile my sister is saying to the guy, "What's your friggin problem a-hole?" and I say to my sister, "Did this guy just punch my dad?" Everyone's crowing around now and the guy's dad is right up in my face. I push him aside and then proceed to knock the guy down on his ass, standing over him. By then, the cops are there and one grabs me and the guy.

Of course all the Cardinal fans say the Cub fan started it. ;) He goes to jail and my dad gets medical attention. I thought the whole thing was kind of funny, but it could have been worse I guess.

My dad is 65 and needs to learn he's not Mr. Tough guy anymore. Ahhh.... beer muscles. Although I'm glad the Cub fan wasn't very big, just really tall. I'm no Mr. Fighter either.

I know, it's people like us who give the fans a bad name. Don't give me that... most Cub fans are really nice and friendly as well as Cardinal fans. It's not like the Redwings - Blues rivialry.

Look, I had a little too much to drink, and your Dad deserved it. :)

I've seen his dad. He's not a Mr. Tough Guy, but he has a rather large nose. :)

Glad the Cub fan went to jail. :)

The large nose was NOT something that carried over to me when I was born, thank god.

:)

Cuckoo, how was St. Louis county jail?

You can't bitch slap a guy and walk away clean. I think both parties got what they deserved. ;)

I really would pay money to see a 65 year old, drunk Cardinal fan bitch slap a 20 year old Cubs fan. And I'm a Cubs fan. Is there any way we can recreate this, MizzouRah?

I would certainly never challenge a senior citizen to a street fight over a comment about my sucky baseball team.

Cubs' fans suck! ;)

Sounds like they're about even at that point, probably where it should have ended.

I know, it's people like us who give the fans a bad name.

I'd have to say that you aren't far from wrong on that score.
And that you're lucky the guy didn't pull a gun & blow your ass away.

And that you're lucky the guy didn't pull a gun & blow your ass away. You and I have both lived in proximity to metro Atlanta for too long. That was my first thought, too.

I just told my dad that today, especially with the carry and consealment law here in parts of Missouri. After it was all over, it was kind of funny, but maybe... just maybe... my dad learned something yesterday. I just reacted like any other son when his dad gets punched in the face, but what he did was wrong, no doubt about it.

Had this been an incident at an English footie game then the whole thing could have escalated and winded up with police dogs biting folks, horses trampling, sirens, meat wagons and headline news in the trash tabloids. Its a pisser when some twat takes his dissapointment out on an innocent like this, hope your Dad can see the funny side like you but if it was my Dad (63) I'd be really angry about this, he's too old to be taking shit like that.

upon re-reading the initial post, I see you were really angry (as i would be) and took the correct action, sorry to imply otherwise and speaking as a pale hose fan I hope you gave the thin Cub dude an extra-oompf shot.

I see a new sim idea: Front Office Bitch Slap. You manage your fans and their abilities to kick the other fans' ass. :D

Sorry to hear about your dad. The Wings-Blues rivalry isn't nice and friendly? I'm nice and friendly! I certainly wouldn't knock out a senior citizen.

Exactly. I don't care if you're Steven Hawking, If you bitch slap me - you're going down.

No need to be sorry, he just needs to realize he's too old to talk smack and then try to back it up. I'm just glad it wasn't some Mike Tyson looking dude. :)
