did anyone check out the pic. forum. Whats up with the whole "crib" thing? Also end of game interviews of the players? I guess that would be cool, but somehow I picture Peyton Manning speaking ebonics. Also sports center during the season, the in depth weekly doings of the franchise mode, however telling T.O. to do yoga seems a little odd. I like the looks of Mel Kiper's rookie show. I just can not believe this game, with all of these features is only going to cost 19.99. Unlike past madden's it seems like this game will FORCE you to take notice of the entire league. I usually didnt even notice other teams records till I played them, but watching sports center each week will keep you even more informed. Another thing I'm curious about is a picture of Boomer and NFL countdown. I wonder if he previews the games each week? Anyway it looks like the Franchise mode will suck you in like no other console football game ever. Here's a link of the pictures I am talking about.

In 2K4 he would give a preview of your game for NFL Countdown.
My favorite features are the V.I.P. system, and the gamecast which allows you to view a replay of every play of the game after it's over. Not to mention the top-notch gameplay.

What?! Only $20. Time to buy that X-Box that I was waiting for Halo-2 to get.

Please let there be no gamebreaking problems (tackling, cough). If there are no super-awful problems, it'll be great. I predict 8.5-8.8 review scores. 8.8 was my initial guess if they do it mostly right.

Time to trade in the old sports titles for credit! Anyone walk into a store and pre-ordered that way? $19 still applies, right?

Looks pretty good so far. It seems as if Mr. Madden is gonna see some competition this year.

With a baby on the way, we're trying to save up for when my wife takes three months off of work. So I've tried to temper my enthusiasm for NCAA 2k5. I just can't in good faith plop down $50 on a game right now, so I've pushed that off until Christmas (it will be all I ask for.) But at $20, and coming out in a week, this game may just be the answer to my cravings. It looks awesome. I never played ESPN 2k4, but I had NFL 2k3 and didn't really like it. I heard 2k4 was much better and I've heard some say it was better last year than Madden, which I've enjoyed but was not blown away by it.
I just went through all of the screen shots and this looks like it might have the best franchise immersion level of any console game I've ever played. Even silly stuff like "the crib" appeals to me. And while I'm not a big fan in real life of some of the ESPN personalities involved in this game, it will be cool to have them interacting throughout. I even like the fact that rookies will have faces. That's something that hurts the immersion aspect in Madden, I think. I felt little connection to players I drafted without putting a face to them.
Bottom line, in this cash strapped year, a darned good $20 game is just what the doctor ordered.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if there are any free shipping deals on the net right now?

There was at ebgames.com free overnight shipping for ESPN 2k5. Not sure if it's available anymore.

I'm really looking forward to this game. If the gameplay is good, I could have a new favorite football game. If they can just fix the running game and improve the playbooks, it could be the best football game ever.

I dont knowabout best Football game ever but I bet it'll be a damn good one. Cn't wait to see those post game nterviews and with Madden basically being the same as last years version I think I'll be getting 2K5 instead.

All this great talk about ESPN Football and the guy from Gamestop tells me it's a 30:1 ratio for Madden:ESPN on pre-orders. Hopefully, the low price and early release will turn this franchise around. Then again, a shoddy game could kill the series.

I've looked through the screenshots and have just one question: does anyone know if Terrell Owens is in the game?

I thought I read something saying that you needed the PS2 HDD to watch the halftime/post game shows.... I forgot where I read that but I was wondering if that was true??

It's true. If you don't have the hard drive, you will get snapshots of action, but with the hard drive, you get full replays.

hmmm... I don't have the HDD, yet. You think it's worth the purchase? I know it comes with a Final Fantasy game - right?? What other features does the HDD have??

It does come with Final Fantasy, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find many people who think it is worth it right now. There hasn't been a lot of support for it so far.
If you have the Xbox, that version will have the full replays.
