This dynasty is my attempt of dominating the UK horseracing scene. Only problem I know nothing about UK racing. The game I will be using is Starters Orders Pro (http://www.startersorders.com/index.htm) . I have had the game for a few weeks but haven’t gotten into a serious dynasty yet. To start off you have 3 horses and £100,000. The option to auto run a certain amount of months is offered but I declined because you start with less money. I also enabled the hard betting difficulty because in my earlier playing you could get great odds on horses that were clear favorites. If you have any questions please ask? Without further ado let the pursuit begin.

Earlier today Mouse Ridge Stables of Carlisle, England have hired a young American, RAM to be their head trainer. Mouse Ridge is the newest stable on the UK scene. In RAM's brief press conference ask if he knew anything training horses, he replied with “That’s why you have assistants.” Another eye-popping quote from the not so talkative American was when he was asked if he had ever been to a race in England. “Sorry I can’t even name a track in England, let a lone had a chance to be at one.” Ram’s reply to where Mouse Ridge Stables found him, “they found me drunk and bankrupt at a dog track in America. You make some stupid bets when drunk. Never put your life savings on an 100-1 long shot that only has three legs.” How long until Mouse Ridge Stables makes a name for itself on the racing scene. The real question should be how long until the drunk runs Mouse Ridge Stables into the ground. When you hire an inexperienced, drunken moron to run your stable you are asking for problems. Only time will tell if Mouse Ridge will stay afloat or sink to the depths of the Atlantic.

The game won't allow changing of Stable name which sucks but I'll have to go with Mouse Ridge. The silk options are just plain color and we go with a dark blue. Up next a look at Mouse Ridge Stables three horses.

Meet Mouse Ridge’s 3 horses.

Kristal Forest is a 2-year-old filly that’s supposed favorite distance is 5f. She was breed from a group 2 winner. As of now is the worst of the 3 horses but she has room to grow.

Strandiam is a 3-year-old colt who also supposedly prefers 5f. He has a current handicap of 52 and was breed from a group 3 winner. He is the best of the group but that is not saying much.

Mabel Riley is our final horse and is a 4-year-old filly. Her supposed preferred distance is a 1m2f and she also has a handicap of 52. Horse who is on an equal level as Strandiam but I see better things out of Strandiam.

Checking my finances I see I pay £970 per week. I also see I can improve my facilities and hire an apprentice jockey. Hiring an apprentice jockey is out as I only have 3 horses. The facilities updates are as follows.

Build Breeding Facilities-allows breeding (£250000)
Build Swimming Poll-increases stamina (£45000)
All-Weather Gallops-allows training in all weather+ improve familiarity with artificial surfaces (£60000)
Training Stalls-improves horses starting ability (£20000)
Increase Stable Capacity- (£4300)

My current capacity is 6 so I have no need to increase capacity and I decide to pass on the upgrades until I see how my horses are.

Time to look at training. We are giving the option of training the horses once or twice a week. To start we put it at twice a week to get the horses in shape and then put it to once a week. We are also the given three different training options. The options are called lots so I will refer to them as lots. The first is speed work (galloping). You can decide to gallop on flat land, uphill, or downhill and you can decide on different lengths and speed. Once the horses are in shape and are preparing for a race they will be using this lot. The second lot is cantering or slow, steady exercise. Which will be used to start to get the horses into to shape. The third lot is walking. Which will be used after racing.

The first time I saw this title, I thought of Kentucky Wildcats, second I thought of the English in MTW, and I see I was wrong on both counts....
