For the following award some lucky librarian eagerly awaits selection.

Note that this is the "New Librarian of the Year."

Let's look at the qualifications for the award.

The New Librarian of the Year recognizes all of those hard-working librarians who are just getting started in the profession. The New Librarian of the Year is someone who: Transformed a routine task or an untried idea into imaginative, creative service
Projected a dynamic image of the professional librarian into the community and offered that community something which it did not have before
Has performed the function of a librarian for a period of not more than 10 years in South Dakota

This word new, I don't think it means what the South Dakotans think it means.
