Is anyone else having problems accessing their website?

Yeah, Matt and I were just talking about this. It's been down for us for a couple of days now.

I wonder if it's related to the gremlins that put Portugal cup games in the England database, and then ate the England database when they tried to fix it?

Found a fix on the US conferendes

Add this line to your hosts file (lives in windows\system32\drivers\etc in XP)

218.214.57.179 usa.hatstats.info

there are two things I do not like about this fix:

1. If the IP ever changes you'll take forever to figure out why it's broke again.

and, more importantly,

2. My DNS server appropriately derives the DNS entry for all the hatstats.info sites so putting an entry in the host table should work.

Also, this won't work if you have to use proxy services, IIRC.

There's a link in the US conference that for whatever reason, if you right click it into a new window, it works. Go figure. It's in a post by Ace-of-Clubs

Yea, I used that same link and bookmarked it and it works fine.

The reason this is necessary is that they're all at the same IP, so you can't just give a link to the IP address because that takes you to the www.hatstats.info (http://www.hatstats.info) portal (according to the thread about it in the Oceania conference).

Dola, it looks like the problem is getting better, I got through with no problem from my (hosts-less) XP box just a moment ago, while I needed a hosts file on my 2k box this morning.

no, i mean that
"dig(or nslookup) usa.hatstats.info" returns the appropriate ip address, so i should not have to add it to my hosts file.. Besides with my whoping 108 nsi, i don't want to see the results anyways.

It wasn't working at the time that the tactic was suggested (or at least, it wasn't working for everyone).

Doesn't seem to be working now, and I also found the link and bookmarked http://usa.hatstats.info/ which also doesn't work now--although it gives this instead: Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /var/www/regions/hatstats_functions.php on line 345

....So confusing, so not going to do what they suggested to fix it.

that, at least, means that their DNS issues are mostly resolved.

Yeah, but they don't want to edit their hosts file.. even though it's harmless :)
