I, for the life of me, cannot gain weight. I hover around 155 for th emost part, but in the past 2 months, I've lost nearly 10 pounds. During that time, I've been sick so that attributes the quick weight loss there. I'm trying to get up to 165-170 range. I'm 6-2 and have never been at my ideal weight. I go to the gym currently so it's not like I look that sickly either. I'm in pretty good shape. I usually eat out though and only twice a week. My mom has never cooked for us, it was always microwaved food at that, so it's not like I'm eating good food. Pizza, Burrito's, and Sandwhiches are about it. I don't have many vices either so it's not really a concerned
Any idea on how to gain weight?

Damn, 6-2 155? I am 6-3 200 and thought I was skinny. I eat a lot of fast food and drink a lot of beer. But I also work out a lot and most people don't believe me when I tell them I weight 200, I look skinny. I've put on 5 lbs in the last month or so most of which appears to be muscle to the upper body.

If you find a solution, let me know.
Since undergoing a very rapid weight loss about 15 years ago, courtesy of a bleeding ulcer, I've never found anything that puts the weight back on me.
Finally, as I hit my late 30's, I managed to get my weight back up to 165-170, but that's still a long way from where I used to be (200 or so, and I'd really like to be around 175-180).
I eat everything in the world that makes other people fat, I exercise so rarely that I'm winded from walking from the front door to the car, I ought to weight 300 lbs. Instead ... I can't gain weight even when/if I try. Finally, I just stopped worrying about it -- it may be hard to gain weight while dodging the bricks, stones, and sticks that other people throw at me for my "problem" ;)

Guess we got something besides the CFL in common. I'm closer to 6'3" and have never weighed more than 175 and that was five years ago. My weight hovers around the 150-160 range. I've always wanted to get into some hardcore weightlifting, but it just hasn't happened. On the bright side though, I've had some pretty physical-type jobs since graduating from HS.
I now work in a ninety degree kitchen as an expo/food runner and at least eat a hearty meal after work just about every day. I think the largest obstacle for me is that I never want to spend too much money on groceries as it's one of the only variables in my budget that I can control.

Eat everything in sight and lift weights 5-6 times a week. You'll be golden.

I have packed on some weight recently, went from 6'2 175 lbs, to 225 in about a year in a half. Try eating 5 or 6 meals a day, but make sure it isnt junk food. Eat all of the food groups in each meals and cut the junk, just eat LOTS of good food. The problem is cutting back on the food once you get to the "ideal" weight you were going for. College helps too.

How old are you? You may just have to wait a few years. I was very thin until I graduated from college, and then started putting on the pounds without trying. Or, just live with being skinny. It's a lot healthier than being overweight.

You probably eat around 1500-2000 calories, 2-3 meals per day, right? If you want to gain weight, eat more food.
One pound is 3500 calories. Eat your standard meals, and then everyday make sure to take the time to eat one extra meal of 500 calories somewhere along the line. That's easy to do, and you could do it by eating say a tuna sandwich, a yogurt and a glass of milk. Or you could go to the nutrition store, and buy a shake mix, and drink one of those every day.
At that rate, you could gain 1 pound per week, and 10 pounds in 2-3 months. It's a realistic way of gaining weight, and doesnt force you to go out of your way to do it.

Wait until you hit 25, then your metabolism will slow down and you'll naturally get fat.

I was looking to do the same thing. Im 5'10, in good shape, and very active. No matter what I did I always hovered between 160 and 165. I asked around and Muscle Milk came highly recommended. I have taken it for 3-4 weeks(twice a day) and I have added 10 good pounds. A big plus is that it tastes pretty good. I have the natural vanilla creme and it does come close to tasting like a milk shake. Just mix it with some milk(or water if you are not a fan of lactose) and take it before you go to bed and after you work out.
You can find a 2.5 lbs container online for $20, that should last you for a couple weeks.

The Herd is right on here. I graduated from High School at 6'3" and about 150 lbs. I screwed off for a couple years, and when I was in college at around 25 or 26, eating less then when I was living at home, my metabolism slowed down and my weight started to increase gradually. After graduation and a few months working in Las Vegas (hitting the buffet lines every night), my weight was around 185. Now I'm 41 and weigh about 215.
