I keep getting this error. I've never seen it before, and I don't get it, since the program was running fine a few hours ago (with nothing changing on my comp). Any help is appreciated.
"Sorry, could not get a license at this time.
Please try running this program later.

• 23 (Purchase process only) This error only occurs during a desktop purchase, and means that the name and address you supplied does not exactly match the records for your credit card. You need to enter the name and address exactly as they appear on the credit card statement.
This is from the Via Tech web site, not sure what it means just giving you the info.

hmm in that case... it probably has something to do with my credit card expiring at the end of the month and being sent a new one (with a different expiration date)... at least, that's all I can think of that's recently happened, though the card isn't expired yet.

If you have a new one, then the one you have is expired... even if the date has not passed..

but would that matter with an e-license? With it only being a one-time charge and all.

aaaaaaaaaaand... my OOTP doesn't work either, so I think its this error:
23 "Sorry, could not get a license at this time..."This error indicates a problem with the eLicense software on your computer. "...get a license" does not refer to license acquisition from the eLicense servers, it refers to the eLicensed application being unable to retrieve license data on your computer. With older versions of eLicense, this error may occur on Windows XP when using the Fast Switch feature, and the logged-on user is not the owner of the program. This error will also occur when trying to run eLicensed software via Terminal Server or Remote Desktop.
Something must be f'd on my comp, i think.

Yeah, I'll PM you if I need it. Also, I found this on another site, it explains the reason.
The Code 23 error happens when the eLicense database gets corrupted. This can happen if you shut off the power to your computer without doing a proper Windows Shutdown, for example. The problem only seems to happen on Win95/98/Milennium systems.
On Windows 2000/XP, eLicense was able to add some code that maintains a backup of your eLicense database which it can restore if the main database gets corrupted.
You must report this to
[email protected]. It is a known error that they are still working to track. It is very random. Elicense will send you a small proprietary program that will repair the problem and determine what caused the error.

Bumping this because I'm having the problem as well, and either the support reply went to my bulk mail folder and is gone, or I didn't get it yet. :(
