I have X-BOX live, a microsoft wireless router, a linksys wirelss receiver (both 802.11b) and Cox Cable highspeed internet. I had this working a few weeks ago, but haven't played in a couple of weeks. Now, when I try to connect to the internet to play some online ESPN Football, I get the message that "Network services (DHCP or PPPoE) were not found. Check these possible options.

There are a few options, and I've tried each of them without success. This included rebooting my network. Everything else on the wireless network such as my laptop computer is working fine. Any suggestions?

I've also tried entering manual ISP information instead of it being automatic (which worked in the past) and the error message in that case is: "cannot reach network gateway address."

Double Dola -

I know I had this Linksys receiver working before, and then I went and hooked it up to my PS2 to play some online SoCOM II. I haven't been on X-Box live since then until trying tonight. I've also made some changes on my router, specifically opening some ports to allow CM 03/04 MP. Neither one of those moves should have affected my X-BOX live capability, but it is not working no matter what I do.

I'm considering buying an official X-BOX/Microsoft receiver. Since, the rest of the network is all based on Microsoft Hardware, I'm thinking that might eliminate whatever technical issue is occurring here. Anyone else think that will solve my problem?

Btw: I've tried to go to the dashboard advanced options of the X-BOX to set up the wireless system but it says my receiver is not X-BOX compatible and that this option won't work. However, I know i played X-Box online with this receiver before, so that doesn't make that much sense.

Well, I'm off to buy the official X-Box live receiver (least then I won't have to keep unplugging the linksys to and from the PS2) Also, I'm going to get the wireless network booster since my laptop often gets a weak signal down here, and that might interfere with online gaming. Sorry about it not working tonight, RPI-Fan, but I hope to play you soon.

Quadruple Dola! :) -

Just as I was about to turn it off to head to the store, I hit connect and it worked. This makes me think that the problem might be the signal strength issue. However, I guess I'm still going to buy both the signal booster and the X-Box receiver. If I get no other benefit out of it, at least I won't have to keep moving it back and forth from the X-Box to the PS2 and vice versa.

Now while typing this message, I got the message that X-Box live is not responding and I lost my signal.. hopefully this shopping spree fixes my problem :)
