Sexual History of the victim will be allowed in court. Radio shows here are jabbering about how it could end up being dropped here pretty soon. Any thoughts?

I don't know about it being dropped. They still have the bloody t-shirt and pictures of her bruised neck to use as evidence. The limited sexual history being admitted and the interview at the hospital being thrown out is pretty damning for the prosecution. I look for Kobe being aquitted or pleading to a lesser charge.

i dunno if they'd plead it down really because anything they decide would leave him having to register as a Sex Offender right?

Depends on the laws of the state. If he pleads to a certain misdermeanor (sexual misconduct) then he may not have to register as a sex offender.

I didn't think it could be reduced to a misdermeanor from a felony, but I really wouldn't know. I always thought the DA should have went for a conviction and nabbed him for a misdermeanor Sexual Assault and get probation and a lot of community service hours. Might not have been "justice" but ti doesn't look like we'll ever know what happened for sure.

We won't know, regardless...just like Not Guilty doesn't mean he didn't do it, and Guilty doesn't mean he did.
We'll never know the truth...it's just who has the better lawyers at this point.

Her sexual history shouldn't have anything to do with this case. If a woman has sex with 10,000 men it still doesn't mean that she can't be raped once.

I think it is pretty important to the case. If any injuries she recieved happened prior to Kobe, and that is not allowed to be heard in court, there seems very little point in proceeding with the case.
When does the trial start? And will it be on court tv.... That is what I am wondering...

It's only the limited sexual history they are interested in. The woman had sex after the alledged rape. I don't know but I would be a little suspicious if a woman had sex after being sexually attacked the day prior.

EagleFan: But it can prove that the injuries she showed were NOT a result of an unwilling encounter with Kobe

I can't see how there could be a conviction in this case at this point. He may have done it, but there is no way that I can see that a case without reasonable doubt can be made.

If there is no physical evidence that he can assumed directly towards him, it's hard to make a case other then he said/she said and the fact that should is alledged to have sex between the alledged rape and when she went to report it makes for a quick trial drop.

I've done some reading and this case according the experts appears to be just about over.
