Well,

I just got back from Monterrey, California. I was there due to work....I know it sucks right.......WRONG!

Work flew me and 20 others down to Monterrey to attend the Skip Barber racing school.

One of the greatest experiences of my life.

We had 4 sessions.

The 1st session for my group were go-karts. Not just your momma's slow lets go in a circle go-karts but those bad boys that can hit 70 mph in a straight stretch. It was amazing, just fun to learn about how a car handles, and how to take corners in the go-karts.

2nd session was a cornering course done in a Dodge Viper. It was an AMAZING and smooth ride. The Viper can do 95 in second gear. It is the fastest 0-60 production car being made.

3rd session was a braking drill using Dodge Neon ACR's. Let me tell you, I picked up a little better admiration for these cars after what we experienced they could do.

4th session......The GREATEST Experience. Dodge Formula One cars on Laguna Seca raceway. It was amazing......going 95+ on the straightaways, and cornering at high speeds was amazing. The corkscrew which was a 280 foot elevation change with 2 corners was just wild! We raced in the Formula ones for roughly 3 hours. It was a blast.

Just had to share this with everyone!

Forgot to say why work did this.

The bulk of the 20 were top sales reps therefore increased profits and money for the company. As for what I did for the company. I just automated a data flow process between the company and a business partner, and have handled the B2B relationship.....plus, they promoted me to Lead Business Analyst to handle all the B2B relationships for the company that requires data flow and implementation.

Basically your progress allowed for better productivity for workers so hence the reason to hire less of them right ;)

Laguna Seca is awesome! I love that track. It's awesome to drive on, and it's also a great place to watch races.

The Corkscrew was amazing! I actually spun out on it as I didn't brake hard enough before the intial turn. We had a guy spin out going down the corkscrew and take the wall on. Broke the car, but he was ok, just had a headache.

Actually it freed up a dept that was doing the data management by hand with Spreadsheets, phone and email with the business partner and allowed the dept to focus on their original job.

Doh! A buddy of mine trashed his RX-7 coming out of Andretti's hairpin. He made the hairpin fine, but lost control on the 90 degree turn shortly after, and smacked the wall.

During the CART races, most of the crashes would happen at Andretti's hairpin. The guys are pushing 200mph, and have to brake to 45 to make the turn. When they are grouped closely, that's when the fun begins!

That Hairpin is quite a turn, especially for the reason you are stating, I think I hit maybe 130-140 coming down that strightaway, and I was braking solid for quite a few feet to set up the turn, but I did drop to about 45 to 50........

My favorite turn on the course is turn 5, you are coming out of a high speed turn on 4, slowing down some, but not a lot for turn 5, and just launching up that hill, and going balls out cause turn 6 is a high speed turn like 4.

Somewhere, Coffee Warlord is crying...

Nah, he's up to his eyeballs in sorority girls and hackers right now. I doubt anything could make him cry...
