Does anyone have any idea if, or when, a new version of Front Office Football might be due in the future? The thread regarding changes for the next version got me wondering when we might at least get some form of confirmation that it is at least being worked on.

I think most people believe that the next game from Jim won't be a version of FOF.

The overwhelming consensus is that there won't be a new version of FOF until late 2005 at the earliest, and that the next product from Solecismic will be TCY2 or a new sim for some other sport. Nobody knows for sure exactly what is being worked on right now or when it will become available.

Didn't we JUST have a thread on this not less than 3 days ago?

I guess there are enough people that would love to see another version of TCY come out and I wish I was one of them. At least the Pro football season is almost upon us. I have never gotten the same type of itch to play the college game as the pro and I can't say that I neccesarily know why.

Ouch! I guess that'll teach me for not reading and cataloging absolutely every thread that is posted @ FOFC.

I can agree here, played TCY maybe a month with fair interest. I'm still playing FOF2004 regularly. Logged over 100 seasons with it, most of any FOF version.

I have played more FOF, but a cleaner gameplay version of TCY would be very welcome in my softare game library. :)

Usually Jim does an update for a new season. We might see a small patch for the current version that would do that. Of course, I don't know that anything that counts as being small is left to be changed in the game.

More that likely, even if TCY 2 comes out I'll still play FOF more. Just more of a fan of the pro game than college. Though I do enjoy playing NCAA 2005.
FYI-This is officially post 1,500 for me!!!! :p

I heard Jim will give in to popular demand from his fan base and have Front Office Poker out by end of September.

Where's all the hostility from? Blakadar, cthomer5000 what the hell did I do that is so wrong. Sorry I didn't do a search before posting what I though was a topic that I hadn't heard about in a while.

I wasn't hostile at all. All i was saying is you might want to try a search on a topic that seems like it would be a certain topic of conversation on a board dedicated to a game series.

I know what the board is based around, and no, I don't see anywhere near as much discussion about FOF as I used to here. Hence why the topic I missed must have drop to the back pages. I guess I'm just confused and I'll just leave it at that.
If anyone was offended by me posting a redundent topic, I apologize.

Feel free at ask any ontopic questions you like. Some people just like being pricks when you interrupt their petty political disputes by asking an FOF question on an FOF messageboard.

Why would you even ask an FOF question here? What is this FOF message board or sumthing? Wow people and their outrageous assumptions today.

Back on topic... I've played TCY way more than FOF for some reason, I guess I'm in the minority.
A TCY2 with more realistic recruiting (not able to bump academics up and get 25 of the top 100 year after year, more players depending on prestige etc....), a better representation of changing players positions in college (recruiting players as athletes and then deciding their position, ability to play and train players as both way players) and more expanded features such as training camp and being able to coach the games... well IMO this would be by far the best sports sim ever.

I would like to see the game approach the player about doing things that might be considered "shaddy".
I never got into bribing players, but if I received an e-mail every other year or so about a player that might be a notch higher than my school would normally get and suggest if I "Got his grandmother a new 4x4 Hummer2 that he just might consider going to school at my university." that might make me a little more intrigued into using that darker side of the sport.
Since we all know it happens all the time, anyway. It's unrealistic in TCY for me personally since I dont' use it and probably no AI teams use it.
Just a thought.

Last I recall, weren't there some kind of issues with Free Agency? Or was that already solved?

I've never logged as many hours on a game as I did playing TCY. I couldn't even begin to estimate how many seasons I simmed. Needless to say, I'd be the happiest person here if TCY:2 were to be released. My wife on the otherhand.....

I would like to see TCY2 if they did something about the time manangement function. I would have played a whole lot more if that was eliminated or a "have scout finish" option. I was almost dreading getting to that part of the game.

Time Management was largely fixed in the v1.2 patch. Did you ever go back and try that? That did the trick for me.
