Ditto here. In two weeks, I'll be 33. I'm still trying to get used to the fact that the large majority of the people I come across in TV, radio, sports, and music are, if not within a few years of my age, actually younger than me. It's not necessarily depressing, it's just...wierd.

Heh. Funny you should say that. I think that's the one thing that mitigates the whole "leaving my twenties thing". My two oldest started calling me "Dad" from the time my wife and I got married seven years ago. At 23 I was the dad to a 10 year old. That really makes you feel old. :)

Yeah, similar situation for me... I got married when I was 27, and had a 13 year old calling me "Dad." The kid is already going to be a sophomore in high school, and I'm just about to hit 30. Wierd.

I did not even have to wait for the actual event. Just knowing it was coming was enough for me.
Here's how I found out:
I used to drive around the neighborhood, and when I viewed a teenage girl, I would gawk at them thinking, "I bet she looks good naked." Now, my thought process is "hey, a potential babysitter."

I don't see why these thought processes need to be mutually exclusive.
Then again, I don't have any daughters (yet - the Mrs. has a bun in the oven, but it's too early to tell).

Hold on to tradition! Resist the urge! Wait until the baby is born to find out the sex, it's so much more fun and interesting (and it drives mothers/mothers-in-law nuts trying to find clothes for the baby in unisex colors; since "everyone" knows nowadays, all the newborn stuff is in pink and blue).

Sadly, this is me:
I used to drive around the neighborhood, and when I viewed a teenage girl, I would gawk at them thinking, "I bet she looks good naked." Now, my thought process is "hey, that girl needs to put more clothes on. I can't believe her parents let her out of the house like that.
Having daughters really changes your viewpoint and mine will not become teenagers for another 5 years. *sigh*

Uhh... I dunno. I sort of like being able to plan ahead. It makes everything easier, from picking a name to buying clothes, etc.
Besides, I have a 10 month old right now. If the new one is a boy, I don't need any new clothes. If it's a girl, I need clothes, a shotgun, and a good shovel.

Noted. Actually, I was watching "Goodfellas" the other night, and I noticed that they had no carpet at all in the trunk, and were able to just hose it out when necessary. This might be the way to go...

I was hoping that when I turned thirty perhaps just a few of life mysteries would begin to trudge their way through the fog and reveal themselves to me.
Instead, I get a lot of fucking heartburn and my eyebrows grow really long.
