Back in 1987, when the Giants clinched the NL West title, Will Clark (then in his second year) said on live TV something like "I've been waiting a fucking long time for this!" Gary Park, the Giants' TV pbp guy at the time, looked like he wanted to anywhere else in the world right at that moment.

Non-sports related, but I completely lost it one day while anchoring the afternoon newscasts. There was a story about the pecan harvest in Oklahoma, and the soundbite (which I hadn't previewed), was a farmer talking about how small his nuts were this year, and how you could tell they weren't any good by rolling his nuts around your hand and feeling them.

Came back from the soundbite, managed to get out two words, and collapsed in laughter for a good two minutes. Tried to pitch to the show host and he was laughing as well. It was a disaster.

It didn't matter if Jim Gray was right or not. When he asked that, I was pretty sure that he was right. The timing was terrible. I was surprised how well Rose handled it. I would have thought he would knock Gray's lights out, which would actually have pleased me more. I also thought it was wonderful when the next interview he attempted, he was snubbed. He looked like an idiot. It was great. I'm glad that Logan for saying it was Chad Curtis. I don't think I would have remembered it as fondly if it had been Jeter.

No problem with that statement. On that stage that day Rome was an ass. I just wasn't bothered by him saying it. 'Cause I thought his whole "Chris" bit was funny as hell.
